00:00Elena, warm welcome back to Miami.
00:03You've historically done very well here.
00:05What do you like about the city and the tournament?
00:08Well, the city got a lot of nice restaurants and a lot of things to do.
00:17And generally, I like Miami, the atmosphere and the courts are a bit faster than Indian
00:24Wells, which is good for my game.
00:26So yeah, super excited to be here.
00:27And you've been so close here twice, back-to-back runner-up.
00:32So does that fuel the fire even more to make you want to go that one step further?
00:37Yeah, definitely.
00:38I was two times very close to get the title, so it gives more motivation and hunger to finally
00:46get to the title.
00:48So yeah, it's going to be a difficult tournament for sure, but I will try my best to get till
00:55the very end.
00:56And you arrive on the back of another brilliant tournament at Indian Wells, all the way to
01:00the final.
01:01So close again.
01:02And you've won more matches on the tour than anybody since the end of Wimbledon last year.
01:07So what is it about your game that's really working well at the moment?
01:11I think we put a lot of work with the team and all the things kind of clicked together.
01:17We are still trying to improve, a lot of things to work on, but for now I'm happy.
01:22I see a lot of positive from each tournament we can take.
01:27And yeah, it was a very tough final.
01:30Very close one.
01:32And yeah, I just hope that I continue like this throughout the year and going to play
01:38many more.
01:39And you're a Grand Slam champion already this season.
01:42You're number two in the world.
01:44Does it enable you to arrive at these big tournaments with a bit more swagger, a bit more bounce?
01:50Well, it gives confidence, but as I always say, every week, every day is different.
01:55And I didn't get a chance even to practice here yet.
01:59So wins are always giving you confidence, but you need to still work, continue and prepare
02:08for each opponent.
02:10And yeah, I always try to just go there at a time and don't think too much ahead and just
02:18focusing on the, on the present, on the each match.
02:21And it's, it's a really busy part of the season, this as well.
02:24It's four consecutive 1000s.
02:26You've played in all of them so far.
02:28And so how do you manage that busy schedule and how do you stay so fresh?
02:33Well, it's not easy.
02:34I wasn't really fresh after Australia.
02:36I got also a bit sick and I wanted to keep the momentum.
02:41So I went to play in Doha and I think I played a couple of good matches there.
02:46And then, unfortunately, I couldn't recover and be 100% for Dubai tournament.
02:52I was home, so I really wanted to play.
02:55But yeah, the body just didn't let me to, to, to recover.
02:59And yeah, the schedule we have, it's quite brutal, but I'm happy that I managed to get
03:06to my best form in Indian Wells in a big tournament, important one.
03:10And yeah, just last push now here in Miami.
03:14Hopefully I will do good here again.
03:17And yeah, after I will have more time to rest.
