00:00Barisan Nasional Chairman Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has given Melaka BN Chairman and Chief Minister Abdul Rauf Yusso the authority to
00:08negotiate with any coalition ahead of the state election.
00:12Zahid said BN remained open to discussions with any outcome to be referred to the top leadership and BN Supreme
00:19Council for a final decision.
00:22According to Bulletin TV3, Zahid acknowledged that seat allocation was among the more difficult issues in political negotiations but believed
00:30it could be resolved through proper discussions.
00:34BN won 18 seats in the recent Negeri Semelan election while the past-led Barisan Nasional won 7.
00:41Zahid has said the BNPN pact will continue in Melaka but seat talks appear to have reached an impasse
00:48with BN seeking to defend all 21 seats it won in the last state election.
00:54Past President Abdul Hadi Awang maintains that preliminary talks are still ongoing.
00:59Wawasan President Hamza Zainuddin has meanwhile called for both coalitions to adopt a give-and-take approach.
01:06Rauf has also cautioned that political negotiations between BN and other parties do not necessarily mean they will become partners.
01:14The Melaka Assembly term ends in December unless dissolved earlier with an election to be held within 60 days of
01:22dissolution or by late February at the latest.
