00:00Perlis UMNO wants to contest the next elections on its own with no plans for an alliance with Perikatan Nasional
00:06for now.
00:08State UMNO Chief Rozabil Abdul Rahman said there have been no official talks with PN, although certain parties have tried
00:16to arrange a meeting.
00:19Beritaharian reported that Perlis UMNO is preparing to contest all 15 state seats and three parliamentary seats on its own.
00:28Rozabil expressed confidence that support for UMNO is growing despite the party losing every state and parliamentary seat it contested
00:36in Perlis in the last elections.
00:40He criticised the PN-led state government for failing to deliver significant development, particularly in creating jobs and economic opportunities
00:49for young people.
00:51Rozabil acknowledged shortcomings under the previous Barisan Nasional Administration, but maintained there was a clear difference compared with the present
01:00state government.
01:02The stance comes after the BNPN Pact secured a two-thirds majority in Negeri Sembilan, although observers had expected cooperation
01:11to be more difficult in PN-led states such as Perlis.
