00:00What in the hell has happened to the Red Sox, dude?
00:03Look, me being a Yankee fan, you know, I hate watching what I'm watching.
00:07But these guys went from being the bums in the American League East
00:11to now all of a sudden, these guys can't lose.
00:14How did they turn this thing around in Boston?
00:17Well, they're at another eight-game winning streak, too, right here.
00:20I mean, like you said, they cannot lose.
00:22They are the hottest thing going.
00:24You know, and it reminds me of the 2023 Rangers right around this time
00:27when, you know, I just didn't see them as, like, an elite team top to bottom,
00:33but everything just started clicking, and that clubhouse had the juice,
00:37had the momentum going for them.
00:39Boston's got it all right now.
00:41Look at them.
00:41They're smiling every time they touch a baseball field.
00:43They can be down by four runs, and you see it in their eyes.
00:46They're like, it don't matter.
00:47We're going to get five.
00:48Like, we're coming back.
00:51Now, I'm not sitting here saying that the Boston Red Sox are some underpaid team.
00:54Like, they've spent plenty of money, too, okay?
00:56I don't have the numbers in front of me.
00:57But they're good for baseball.
00:59Even if you're a Yankees fan, it's good to see a team that's not spending the money
01:03that the Dodgers are spending and winning games like this.
01:06This is what I think of when I think of baseball.
01:09162-game season, who gets hot at the right time?
01:12That's what I've always thought baseball was.
01:14And the Dodgers are kind of changing that narrative to just, like,
01:16hey, we're the big bad.
01:18Well, the Red Sox have something to say about that.
01:20They're hot right now.
01:21I think they stay hot.
01:22They've got the juice.
01:23I'm on board with the Red Sox.
01:25You know, just to show you how much I hate the Red Sox, when I grew up watching the Red
01:30Sox, Fisk behind the plate, George Scott at first base, Dewey out in right field, Rice
01:38and Lynn.
01:38I mean, I go down the list.
01:40Hills, how do you know all about the Red Sox?
01:42Because I hate the Red Sox.
01:44That's right.
01:45I'm a Yankee fan.
01:46Right.
01:47So, I mean, Munson and Fisk back in the day.
01:49All right.
01:50Let me take you out west here with the Padres.
01:52Hey, dude, is it because of what Machado's doing at the plate that they're starting to
01:57turn this thing around a little bit?
01:58They're still right now a little bit outside the wild card.
02:01But, you know, the Padres right now are starting to make some noise here,
02:04potentially being a wild card team, or you're not buying them?
02:08Uh, I'm more interested in the future that I don't know if you remember that we talked
02:12about with the Astros on the other side.
02:14I'm interested with that divisional future with the Astros.
02:16I don't know about the Padres.
02:18Now, I was just looking at some of their numbers earlier, and now we're looking.
02:22I'm talking a 10-game sample.
02:24But, I mean, they're hitting like 260-something against right-handed pitching in their last
02:2710 games.
02:29And if you go back, you know, their last 30 games are back on the season, hitting like 214
02:33as a team.
02:34The numbers are just atrocious.
02:35Uh, they're really trending in the right direction.
02:38Yes, Machado hitting the ball would be a huge help for them.
02:41Uh, but I gotta say, and obviously, uh, Tatis isn't somebody who has, you know, jumped off
02:47the cliff like Machado has, hitting under 200.
02:49Uh, but Tatis is hitting the ball really well right now.
02:52He's driven that average.
02:53Uh, he's in the 280 right now.
02:55I think Jackson Merrill is another player who really had been having just a down season
03:00that we expect to be a superstar, or at least a star.
03:03Maybe not a superstar, but a star.
03:05A lot of these players are starting to, uh, get right along with Machado.
03:10So, yeah, Padres are not a team that I want to get put up against here.
03:13Uh, as far as pitching goes, I don't know if the Padres have the staff to make it through
03:17a playoff run, but I do think they could get there.
03:22All right, the New York mess.
03:24It's not the New York Mets.
03:26It's the New York mess.
03:28Alex Cora really want that gig?
03:30Does he want that job?
03:35All I can do is say, Cab, would you take that job if you're Alex Cora?
03:41So, and that's what exactly, what a great way to frame that question, because my first
03:45thought was, what would I do if I was in that situation?
03:48Yeah, I'd take it.
03:49I mean, they, they got the third highest payroll in baseball.
03:52If they're willing to spend that type of money, absolutely.
03:54Give me a chance with them.
03:55I don't believe in curses or anything like that.
03:58If you're going to spend that type of money, hell yeah.
04:00Give me a shot with them.
