00:10Now, the Four Continental Assembly of ALBA Movement is taking place in Havana,
00:15the coordination that brings together social movements from Latin America and the Caribbean.
00:19One of its tasks is to strengthen the international strategy to resistance to imperial secretions in the Global South.
00:25Belén de los Santos brings us a story.
00:29What unites the struggles of Cuba, Brazil, Venezuela or Haiti?
00:34How can people build a common path from different territories?
00:38This is a task faced by delegates from 27 countries in the Cuban capital.
00:45We started the day by going through a historical journey of our experiences of socialism,
00:51which is not just history, it is the present, it is our future and our reference.
00:56One of the keys is to talk, to listen in order to learn from the experience of others.
01:01From Cuba comes the importance of building a path that is always close to the people, a characteristic of Fidel.
01:08Among us there is a fundamental principle of Fidel, which is communion with the people.
01:13It is not that you like the people. It is not that you understand the people's problems.
01:18It is that you are capable of building with the people a liberation project in which the people themselves build
01:24you,
01:24build themselves as the protagonist subject and change the reality they have to live.
01:29Learning experiences also come from the Haitian revolution, still powerful for understanding the present of the region.
01:37A fundamental element of this construction is the emergence of a counter-hegemonic culture,
01:45based on a new language, a new spirituality and new formulas for organizing work.
01:52This is how internationalism is built, highlighting historical and present practices that offer an alternative centered on the well-being
02:01of the people.
02:04Socialism is not a speech, it is not a utopia, it is a necessity, but it is also an everyday
02:10practice.
02:13And from the little that we are doing in a camp or in a settlement, in the way of organizing,
02:18in the way of producing,
02:20a different perspective from capitalism can also be a seat of socialism.
02:25In a context of imperialist advance against the region, the goal is to exchange experiences to strengthen joint strategies.
02:33That is what the 4th Continental Assembly of Alpha Movement in Havana is all about.
02:38It is fundamental to create channels of exchange between revolutionary processes, what I call the pedagogy of revolutions,
02:52in order to draw from all this wealth and be able to move forward in the face of today's challenge.
02:59Today, more than ever, these processes need to come together in a necessary unity,
03:05to build a necessary integration,
03:07to stop an offensive that we are experiencing on the continent,
03:13which is perhaps one of the worst in history.
03:17Belén de los Santos, Forchela Sur English, from Havana, Cuba.
03:20It's easy to reach.
03:21This semi-listism...
