A new development tonight...as the Tunapuna Piarco Regional Corporation says the police post at Eddie Hart Grounds might have to be removed, as they contend it was built over National Gas Company infrastructure.
Alicia Boucher has more in this report.
Transcript
00:00Before the cement on the platform for the police posts at Eddie Hart Grounds could fully dry,
00:05Chairman of the Tunapuna Piawko Regional Corporation, Josiah Austin, provided information pertaining to the structure.
00:12Only to realize that NGC was on hand to do investigations because they heard about what was taking place.
00:21I told you before that we would have the drawings, we would know where things are on that ground.
00:26You all need to realize now that the NGC lines are running below that structure, smack underneath that structure.
00:36Austin believes it could have been prevented had the Homeland Security Ministry and admittedly the Rural Development and Local Government
00:43Ministry not taken the approach that they did.
00:47As I would have said previously, simple consultation will go a very long way.
00:52We have continued to do things with unity and we are not here at this time with development.
00:59We said and I stated very clearly that consultation with us would prove simple things.
01:07Where are the Wassa lines? Where are the other lines that are running?
01:10So as to what happens now, well, Austin says it's anybody's guess.
01:15I await the findings and I would like to see what this so-called responsible government is going to do
01:23about this now.
01:24The lines are directly below and that is a hazard for the public.
