00:01Malaysia Aviation Group has ordered drug screening for all 1,260 Malaysia Airlines pilots
00:08after one of its officers was detained in Indonesia over an alleged drug smuggling attempt.
00:14In a statement, MAG said screening began immediately and is expected to be completed by August 15,
00:21with pilots who failed to undergo testing within the period to be grounded until cleared.
00:25The group will also introduce mandatory screening for all active pilots on top of its existing random testing program
00:33before extending the measure to cabin crew.
00:35A Malaysian pilot was arrested at Sokarno Hatta International Airport last week
00:40after 25 kilograms of ecstasy worth more than 13 million ringgit was allegedly found concealed in his luggage.
00:48MAG confirmed that the officer was a second officer seated in the cockpit jump seat as an observer
00:54and was not part of the flight crew operating the aircraft.
