00:00AirAsia flight AK139 from Hong Kong to Kuala Lumpur yesterday suffered a technical issue
00:07which caused abnormal cabin pressure in the aircraft.
00:17The budget carrier said the cabin crew took appropriate measures following the technical
00:22issue with oxygen masks automatically deployed as a precautionary safety measure.
00:28In a statement, it said at no point was safety compromised, adding that the plane landed
00:33safely at KLIA Terminal 2 at 4.05pm.
00:38It said that following a comprehensive engineering assessment, the technical issue was identified
00:43and resolved, and the aircraft will be cleared for service today in full compliance with
00:47all safety regulations.
00:50This was the second case of an AirAsia flight encountering issues mid-flight in the span
00:55of just over a week.
00:57On March 27th, AirAsia flight AK128 bound for Shenzhen, China had to make an emergency
01:03landing at KLIA Terminal 2 after a fire ignited in its right engine while in the air.
01:10All 171 passengers and crew disembarked the aircraft safely, while the fire had been completely
01:16extinguished by the aircraft's halon suppression system before the plane landed.
