00:00The Migrant Repatriation Programme 2.0 has generated over 114 million ringgit in revenue so far,
00:08says Immigration Director General Zakaria Shaban.
00:11He said the program has recorded 228,961 registrations since it started on May 19 last year,
00:19with 204,523 undocumented migrants already repatriated.
00:24According to Bernama, Zakaria said Indonesians are the top applicants, followed by Bangladeshis.
00:31Zakaria said his department had requested an extension of the program once it ends on April 30.
00:37The program allows undocumented migrants to return home without being prosecuted after they pay compound fines
00:44based on their specific offences and fulfilling certain conditions.
00:48Under the program, a RM500 fine is imposed for entering or remaining in Malaysia without a valid pass and overstaying.
00:57Violating pass conditions carries a penalty of RM300.
