00:20surprise is just overall in baseball how tight these races are in the al and the nl where very
00:25few teams have really separated themselves but i i think that the opportunity for the marlins to make
00:31the playoffs is is really in their hands at this point i know that what a lot of folks do

00:37of the year dan is that front offices they have their own projection systems far advanced from
00:42anything that we have but if you want to look at some of that forward facing material it's all
00:46available on fan graphs and fan graphs will sort of paint the picture percentage wise as to where
00:51the teams will make it very similar to the betting markets except for more intricate because it
00:55projects who you play against and the war and the teams you have and play against and so miami's
01:00chances are right around 20 right now so that has them on the outside looking in if you'll note the
01:05arizona diamondbacks have really taken a big step up and they've jumped into that race in a big way
01:09the pirates and cardinals have taken a step back and then miami's kind of right there but oh you know
01:14miami still has games against the cubs six of them they still have games against arizona three of them
01:18and so their schedule is going to get tougher after they get done with this weekend series with the
01:23mets and that's stink dan so it's really anybody playing the mets these days it's usually a series
01:28win uh but i i do think they have a chance uh to get in there in the end but
01:33their approach feels a
01:34little bit more measured maybe than it did back in 2023 when they kind of pushed all their chips in
01:38to
01:39make the playoffs and get to that wild card because it would seem dan that teams and this is very
01:45important to note teams that have a chance to win the division should take a bigger push than teams
01:51to win the wild card because if you get in the division you're getting home games that's a lot
01:56of money for these teams and a lot of attention for these teams i don't know that miami has a
02:00shot
02:00to get home games this year in their park when they do i believe they will go all in for
02:05it and i think
02:06most teams as you see like the astros probably going to make some big deals here coming in too
02:10because now they have a chance to win the division much different scenario in a five game series
02:15or a wild card series opening up with home games in your park very big advantage
