01:28opening lap, 5th to 1st, and we're not even
01:31done with this opener.
01:32Yeah, the absolute nightmare for McLennan, a bad start,
01:34and his teammate in form, red play in front
01:37already.
01:39Langenfelder, eyeing up Evertz here in
01:40yellow, in 2nd, just ahead of him,
01:43just to the outside there, we saw Valerio
01:44Latter, he's got Racialis next to him, so I think he's found
01:46his way past the Latvian, who's coming back,
01:48and he is, immediately,
01:50drops it down the inside of Latter, and
01:52the 83 of Maxime Gros moves up
01:54into 4th place, Jonas Racialis.
01:58Good bit of riding that, when he needed it, because
02:00he's now got 3, sort of,
02:02championship main hitters,
02:04big hitters, just ahead of him, he will love to get on
02:06par with these guys, he knows he's got good
02:09sand riding skills, he's got the start that he
02:10wanted, that he didn't get in the qualifying race as well
02:12on Saturday.
02:14So, Jonas Racialis, in the hunt here
02:16for more podiums, more silverware.
02:19He's in 4th place yesterday, at that exact
02:21moment he's passing now, but then he hit the
02:22floor, and had to go right the way to the back,
02:24he has won twice here in EMX, so
02:26Jonas loves a bit of Lobel sand.

02:32Evertz 2nd, Langenfelder 3rd,
02:34but for how much longer, because here comes
02:36Janis Racialis, nudges his way down the
02:38inside of the German, picks him off at the
02:40first opportunity.

02:44just saw them through the paddock, in the
02:46break, so putting on a show
02:48for the Japanese

02:52Lots of rumours around the paddock, lots of
02:54rumours about everybody this weekend, but
02:56especially about Janis and his brother, be
02:58intriguing to see how that one pans out over the
02:59winter.

03:05Petronas, the 33 of Kai Cars makers, the 83 of
03:07Maxim Groh, then Racialis, and then Camden
03:09McClellan, he's now up in the 10th place.

03:17Mikola looked like he could have a good start, but he's
03:19down in 11th place at the moment, but it was
03:21Evertz who tipped his way around the corner.

03:33towards the back.

03:38This was Coonan and Valentin Keyes, Keyes taking a shot
03:40down the inside, and, oh, I'll tell you what, dig an
03:44elbow in the back there, why not?
03:46Probably said a few expletives there as well as he
03:48decked him on the way down.
03:51Anyway, picking himself up, he's now in 18th, Sasha
03:53Coonan, after that fall with Valentin Keyes.
03:57Yeah, there'll be some choice flemish being said at that
03:59exact point in time, and, yeah, Sasha, he will not
04:01appreciate that move, especially on that replay.
04:03He's recovered so far just to 18th place.
04:06Carlos Reginus looking to find his way past the 18th
04:09Valerio Latta, and he slips down the inside in that
04:12long turn, that long right-hander, goes after Kai
04:15Carsmakers now as he moves up in the sixth position
04:18on the number 47.
04:23McClellan tucking in behind the Italian now here as

04:25He knows he's got speed, he knows he's got fitness,
04:27he knows he's got time on his side as well.
04:29Still 25 and a half minutes plus two laps to go in this
04:32race, which is even more than a qualifying race on
04:34Saturday.
04:35We saw what he did there.
04:38And he does continue to push.
04:42McClellan up to eighth at the end of that lap.
04:45Latta just ahead of him.
04:46Maxim Groh made a good start, who quickly got shuffled back to
04:49ninth place, though, didn't he?
04:51Yeah, Maxim Groh's first Grand Prix at Lommel.
04:53He missed last year through Inji and just one EMX 250 event with
04:56no points back in 2022.
04:58Maxim Groh, two for here, going past McClellan and Latta.
05:01Where did that come from?
05:03From ninth to seventh.
05:05McClellan wasn't expecting it, nor was, or neither was the
05:0918 of Valerio Latta.
05:13Feisty little fighter, the Frenchman off his career, best GP, of
05:15course, last week, sixth at Lockett.
05:17But McClellan coming back to him now, bounces beautifully up the
05:20inside there, Paul.
05:22Yeah, McClellan, just, as I said, picking his way through.
05:26He's riding very cool, calm.
05:27It's hot outside.
05:28It's around about 29 degrees.
05:29It's humid as well.
05:30There's not a lot of wind.
05:31So when you're in that heat, which these guys are, it's a
05:34burning heat.
05:35So if you make a mistake, you tip over, that heat is going to go
05:39from toes to head immediately.
05:41You get rattled.
05:42It's going to take a lap or two to get yourself back in form.
05:46Carlos Racelis has found his way past Carsmakers.
05:48He moves up in the fifth place.
05:51Good opening couple of laps as well for both the Racelis then.
05:53They are now going to be sitting, what, third and fifth with
05:5724 minutes to go.
05:59Here is the other, Carlos.
06:04Another one fresh off his best career GP.
06:06His first podium, of course, last weekend at Lockett.
06:08He has said he is more of a sand rider than a hard pack.
06:11So if he can get a podium there, he will certainly wish he can
06:13get a podium here.
06:14Yeah, it came close a couple of years ago.
06:16Fourth overall.
06:18But, uh, feels, well, it's like Latvia.
06:22There's a lot of sand tracks in Latvia.
06:23So from that side, both the Racelis used to riding it.
06:26Of course, they're based in Holland now, which is where the
06:28team's based.
06:28There's no shortage of sand tracks.
06:30So it's almost like every day is a sand day for any of the
06:33teams in and around the sort of Benelux, Netherlands,
06:36Flander region, which is where we are this weekend.
06:38Flanders?
06:40Yeah, we're not talking about Calvin.
06:41Flander initially is a Flemish for Flanders.
06:45Here is the 47 of Carless races.
06:48He's now up in the fifth.
06:49Cars make a sixth.
06:50Your race leader, Guillem Perez, just at the fastest lap that time
06:53around, a 202.189.
06:55But 3.4 seconds over Liam Everts on the Nostar and Hasvana.
07:00A lot of people questioning, would he be able to, uh, control or sort
07:06of dominate this Lommel circuit?
07:08And I said, you know what?
07:09He's very good in the sand.
07:10He was a race winner in round two in Andalusia.
07:13Yes, the championship was early.
07:14Yes, everybody was, uh, hypercharged after coming back from
07:17Argentina the first round, still trying to find their feet.
07:20But again, you know, where the Triumph base is, just over the
07:23border in Holland, there in Chandel, just, uh, north of
07:26Eindhoven, a lot of sand riding, a lot of laps.
07:29They've got good data, good intel.
07:32And Perez, if you are one of those riders that go, my
07:35weakness is sand, you need to turn that weakness into your
07:39strength.
07:39That's exactly what he's done here.
07:41You wouldn't know it.
07:42The only other good sand rider that we had, there's been a
07:44couple, Morgue Prado, of course, but Jonathan Barragan, no
07:47slouch in the sand in his career.
07:50And, uh, Guillaume, only ninth overall last year, his only
07:53level GP before this one, 14-10 were his results then.
07:56He's made a massive stride since then.
07:58Liam Evans looking good, three colorway strips this
08:00weekend, the red, the yellow, the black, he's opted for the
08:03yellow in race one.
08:04Of course, the colors of the national flag, this is where he
08:07made his mistake towards the end of the race yesterday,
08:09fell from fifth, picked himself up, didn't lose any
08:11positions, but here's Carles Raceless, he's found his way,
08:14Pest Langenfalder moves up into fourth place.
08:17Oh, it's that, Janis Raceless, sorry, in there, in that
08:19third place, thought Carles had gone through there from over.
08:23Good effort if he had, it's four seconds further back.
08:25But it's Ferez who continues to lead, he did the fastest lap
08:28last time around, is he going to eclipse that this time around?
08:30As we look at Langenfalder, just wait for it to click into lap
08:34four, any moment now.
08:36And Ferez, 2.03.3 this time around, very rare, you get fast laps approaching,
08:43uh, well, being set late on in the race here in Lommel.
08:47This is McClellan on Carsmakers, that's how he moved up to that sixth place a moment ago.
08:55He's still around about 12.6 seconds behind Ferez, made no progress on his team-mate at all at that
09:00point.
09:01That's the gap that he'll be looking at, he'll want to win this one.
09:05Simon Langenfalder, still very cool, very calm, still relaxed state of mind,
09:10kind of pretty much admitted in our, uh, behind-the-gate interview the other day,
09:16which will feature on our platform on Tuesday, that he's just kind of, uh, you know,
09:22happy with where he's at, and the championship is quite difficult this year as well, you know.
09:27So he's, but it was very, very chatty, wasn't he?
09:30Yeah, he was very open, uh, suddenly discussing even the prospects of moving up to MXGP.
09:35He acknowledges just how stacked that class is, how difficult that move will be.
09:39He can race MX2 still next year, if he's not champion again, of course.
09:43So, uh, it's likely that we'll see Simon back on the 250, long-term future signed already to KTM.
09:48So, one of the few around Lommel who are not negotiating with people this weekend.
09:52And Simon, yeah, seems to be in a happy place, although not quite where he would want to be
09:56in the championship.
09:57Yeah, he was, uh, second in the qualifying race on Saturday, giving himself second gate pick
10:04for the races today.
10:05He's currently sitting there in fourth.
10:06I wonder how much of this is him sandbagging, if you like, just sitting back there.
10:10He's got Evertz ahead of him, raceless, Yanis raceless.
10:12Can he sit there and be that confident where he can say, right, with 10 minutes to go,
10:16as long as I've got them in my line of sight, as long as I've got them in range,
10:20am I able to just then find another gear and go, right, let's do something about second and third,
10:26at least, as you said, he's nearly seven seconds down on Guillem-Ferez, the championship leader
10:30and race leader.
10:31That one might be a little bit tougher to sort of, uh, crack, if you like, but he will
10:37not give up, that's for sure.
10:39And here he is, just doing what he does.
10:42He's just being very smooth, very meticulous.
10:44He's got probably one of the nicest riding styles on a motorcycle in MX2.
10:50always looks in control as he, uh, comes up short on the triple, but you get my drift.
10:56Yeah, that was a commentator's curse, if ever I saw it there, Paul, and, yeah, just a single
10:59race win here, of course, uh, that was back in 2023.
11:03So, uh, yeah, sorry, 2024, race two was, uh, his only race win, third overall twice, sixth
11:09last year.
11:13Red Bull KTM rider there in fourth place, Sasha Coonan, he's now up to 12th, he's found
11:18his way past Alway Calemo on the 496, so, uh, Coonan, who went down on the opening lap
11:25with the 170 of Valentin Keyes, Keyes not able to pick himself up and rejoin the race
11:29after that, didn't make it to sector four, so, probably ended up, well, he made it through
11:34the first three sectors, that means he's obviously gone into pit lane, maybe some damage to the
11:37motorcycle, although the bike of Sasha Coonan, and Sasha Coonan did crash out heavily onto
11:43him as well, so maybe he was a little bit winded, who knows.
11:46Where is Lotta Van Drillen, she's in 24th place at the moment, uh, WMX rider, two-time
11:50world champion, of course, here for gate drops on that, uh, Debarci Yamaha AIT machine, what
11:56a crowd we've got here this weekend, I like how they've built up that extra bank out the
12:00back, that used to be pretty flat, so, doing their best to get in a few more people here,
12:04bombs on seats.
12:05Yeah, it helps a lot there, Smolders has now gone into the top ten, Lata slipping back
12:08to twelfth, also behind Sasha Coonan, who is now in eleventh, Smolders the top Dutchman
12:12yesterday, riding for the 67 Husqvarna, team returning from injury for the first time since
12:17France, his first race, uh, since earlier in the year there, we had a, a broken vertebrae.
12:22This corner was so flat yesterday, inside, outside, doesn't really matter which line you take
12:26now, maybe a little bit smoother to the outside, because traditionally it is the furthest route
12:30around, everybody tries to make their corner as short as possible, but as laps go on and
12:36gear changes and sort of revolutions of the rear wheel, those holes only get deeper and
12:40deeper through that inside, and bigger and bigger, as a result of that, more and more difficult.
12:48And that's McLellan passing, Kailish Reginald is then up to fifth place, the South African
12:52within ten and a half seconds now of the leader, so the gap's closing ever so slightly, is it
12:57going to be enough though, with seventeen minutes plus two laps to go?
12:59Yeah, McLellan, just being very meticulous here, he knows it's a hot day, there's his teammate
13:04coming back towards him in the opposite direction, so heading into that turn six as he goes through
13:07turn three, this is how he did it through that long turn, look how deep they are to the inside,
13:11look how much quicker and more fluid it is to the outside, yeah, it's a long way round, but you're
13:16generating so much more speed on the exit that you get in here, bar to bar, he takes the big
13:20leap
13:20of faith and makes that pass at stick, McLellan up to fifth.
13:24Nice send it there for McLellan off the wardrobe, just about enough of a broom there, want that pull for
13:28him
13:28to kick into and get enough acceleration to do that, so a nice move and he's eyeing up
13:32the next rider already, which is Simon Langerfelder.
13:34Wasting no time, getting onto the rear wheel of the number one, defending champion, and you
13:39see the urgency now with which he's riding, he's just picked his pace up ever so slightly,
13:43at 2.03, he was the quickest of the riders ahead of him last time, even Perez was only
13:47at 2.05 on lap six, so McLellan, significantly quicker and with sixteen minutes to go and
13:54only 10 seconds off the lead, 11 seconds off the lead, you know what, I think McLellan
13:59fancies his chances here, even from this far out, but depends how much Perez has in the tank,
14:05he is able, well, he doesn't have to exert himself as McLellan is here, so he's just sitting
14:10there, just logging those training laps, if you like, dancing around on the rear wheel,
14:14he's got four seconds gap between himself and Evans, so the intensity not needed for Perez
14:19at the moment, that might change, before the end of the race though, between these two,
14:23the two teammates, first though, he's got to find his way past Langenfelder, Giannis
14:27Raceless and Liam Evans, if he is to take the challenge to his teammate, who's already
14:32there, dropping back onto the start straight.
14:3615 and a half to go, McLellan still looking perfectly poised and looking very cool and calm, but
14:44if he could work on his starts, that's been his Achilles heel so far this year, hasn't
14:48it, Kevin and McLellan, hasn't registered a foxhole shot this year, he's only got one in
14:55total and that was last year, Trentino, race one, 13th of April, would that have been his
15:00first raceman, that's very helpful then, isn't it, yeah, let's face it, oh, smoke over, okay,
15:06carsmakers out of the race, so the Dixon Racing Team Kawasaki rider falls by the wayside,
15:16as Kevin McLellan closes in on Simon Langenfelder, tries to nudge him up the inside here, this
15:24is through turn six, over the crest, some of the riders talking to him in the break, saying
15:31the track was so physical this morning, even in warm-up, holes were massively deep, look
15:35how deep they are there, no such thing as a hole that's that deep though for Kevin McLellan,
15:40launches his way past the German on the number one KTM, McLellan now up into fourth, oh, almost
15:46folds the front through that right-hand turn, that's how hard he's pressing, pressing, Evers,
15:53it's a couple of corners, their head, watch this here, oh, look at that, 40,300 record-breaking
16:00attendance here for Lommel this weekend, and that is a decent crowd as well, so McLellan
16:07on the move, finds his way past Langenfelder, he moves up into fourth place, he's got Yanis
16:14Raceless and Liam Evers just ahead of him, directly in his line of sight as he heads up over that
16:20plateau jump, here's how he did it, launch to the inside, that little kick of the back
16:26end, that's every lap for Simon Langenfelder, but just going long through that hole, trying
16:30to minimize the physicality through that corner, Simon Langenfelder coming back for more, but
16:37again, utilizing that outside, and look how much again on Raceless and Evers in the space
16:42of a lap, nervous look over the shoulder from the 772 on the Yamaha, he goes deep, McLellan
16:48a nice tight line through there, doing anything he can to carry more speed into this turn,
16:53and Langenfelder seems like he's just had the rocket on the backside that's woke him up
16:56here because he was happy sitting there doing his own thing, sitting back, but now McLellan
17:00has forced him into reaction, and he might just do well to latch onto the number 8, not
17:06sort of race him, but resist that temptation, and just pick up and latch on and feel that
17:12flow that Cameron McLellan has, because if you can do that and work with him if you like,
17:16even though they're on opposing teams, it's going to drag him along on the rear wheel of
17:20the number 8, so where he goes, Langenfelder will go, and if he finds his way past Raceless
17:24and Evers, he might be wanting to pick up the pieces there as well, easier said than done
17:29though, of course. Yeah, absolutely, and this is one of the circuits, one of the few circuits
17:32where they just cannot go flat out, they have to pace themselves, don't they Paulie, it's
17:36not a case of just full blast, like you say, conserve energy at certain points in the race,
17:40really put the effort in when you have to make a move, but sadly for Camden, he's not got
17:43that luxury, he has to push because he started so poorly. Yeah, he's gone outside, outside
17:47here through this combination of turns this time, because Raceless was right there where he
17:50wanted to be, so he's going to have to fight the front end again here through those big
17:53old holes, absolute treacherous minefield of a racetrack, but he leaves the door open
17:59as Raceless, McClellan slips up the inside into third position, next man in his sights,
18:05Evers here on the 26th, the home rider for Belgium. Great ride in this though from
18:11McClellan, what is he off the lead at the minute, it's only 7.2 seconds off his
18:15teammate, Ferez, still lapping quicker than the race leader as well, last time around.
18:19Yeah, hacking it down and four seconds nearly faster than Evers as well, so Liam Evers never
18:24had a home GP podium yet, fourth overall remains his best result here, and he's got
18:29McLellan now for company, through he goes. Easy pass in the end for Camden McClellan, and again
18:36Liam Evers just maybe, just trying to ride himself around this racetrack here, but he leaves the
18:41door open again and Raceless goes through as well, from second to fourth in a couple of corners
18:45for Liam Evers on the Nastana Swarna, tries to get the wheels down early, it works because
18:50he out drags the Yamaha down pit straight, and then oh, he almost folds the front end in
18:55that turn as he re-emerges back on the start straight, Evers hanging on to third, so McClellan,
19:04he's on the charge, as he moves up in a second position, Yanis Raceless now trying to find
19:11his way into third, because he was in that third place a couple of laps ago when McClellan
19:17was working his way through traffic, we're getting ready to go down to pit lane, Lisa's
19:22down there I think with Nastana Swarna, maybe with a little bit of information for us, I think
19:29she's got some information in general, anyway, let's go down to pit lane then, here's Lisa.
19:36Yes, I just have some general information about home rider Liam Evers, I just spoke to his
19:40trainer Reuben, Reuben said after yesterday's qualifying race he was a little bit down on
19:45himself because he's been putting a little bit of pressure on him for his home GP, he
19:48had a lot of media opportunities, everyone wanted to put their piece of him, but he's really
19:53focused on today, he wants to show that he can do it, he enjoys his home track a lot more
19:57here, we saw him get the whole shot, we saw him get the start, the team are fully aware
20:02that Camden McClellan is faster than him and they're trying to communicate that to Liam
20:06right now, but at the very, very least the home rider is going to try and go for a podium
20:10at his home GP, but the team are aware that he's got a target on his back right now.
20:16Thanks Lisa, while we were in the middle of all that, Simon Langenfelder from out of nowhere
20:21finding his way past Evers and Raceless, he moves up in a third as he chases down McClellan
20:26in second position, so pretty much as suspected, you know, trying to go with McClellan once
20:32the South African came by the German and that's paying dividends because he's picked his pace
20:35up and that kind of improves his prospects of a top three, certainly in this race if
20:41you can keep it on two wheels. Raceless there in fourth, Evers down to fifth now.
20:46It's been a tough lap and in lap time terms that's around about 2.08 for Evers that time around.
20:54Yeah absolutely, 2.08 also for Ferez and McClellan three seconds faster on the last lap, he's only
20:59six behind his teammate now, so simple maths on that one, he could close to within a couple
21:04of laps, although I'm sure Ferez, if he has been slightly easing off the gas to conserve
21:08himself, will now have to pick that back up to keep his teammate back there.
21:11Well the good news is he's only got to pick the pace up for another 9 minutes plus 2 laps,
21:15rather than
21:15the whole 25 minutes plus 2, he was quick to the lead and that gap now, 5 seconds between
21:20himself and his teammate, it's once again a triumph racing MX2 factory team, 1-2.
21:28This was the fight a moment ago, Evers there, he made that mistake which cost him time to
21:32Raceless, Raceless then maybe had to second guess as Langenfelder grabbed a two foot, Evers
21:37tried to get an elbow into the German there but from fifth to third in the blink of an
21:42eye for Simon Langenfelder, as Evers ends up down there in fifth place behind the 7.72 of
21:55he's already over that crest. Here he is, coming towards us, McClellan. He's looking down
22:04the leaderboard there, saw Aliculemo in and around that sort of tenth place, that's not
22:09a bad ride for the Swede. Not a rider we used to see in MX2 of course, but enjoying his
22:20time
22:20around here in the sand, that's for sure. Yeah, he's on that young motion powered by
22:24Risa team, isn't he, on the Husqvarna. So yeah, a nice ride for
22:27Kalemmo, nowhere near that sort of level there. You're looking up his notes, it's interesting
22:31to see a lot of Andrunin there having a grandstand view of that battle between Evers,
22:36Rezunis and Langenfelder. And yeah, a complete topsy-turvy.
22:39Sascha Kunin now seventh and Nikola also moving forward in eighth place.
22:43Yeah, got a 17th and 19th a week ago in Lockett, Czech Republic, so obviously felt that he
22:49he belongs here rather than the MX250, but not the easiest place, but hold himself
22:54accountable at the moment in that tenth place is the youngster. Right, Gap coming down
22:59to four and a half seconds. There is going to be a late charge then from Camden
23:03McClellan, as he homes in on his teammate, Guillaume Perez. It's going to be a big push this,
23:08from the number eight. Important not to blow yourself out in the early part of the race.
23:13Everts has been down, Everts out of what, sixth place. And looking like he's got a technical
23:19issue there, look, doesn't look like he's been down, he's just out of the race. And that
23:24is it for Liam Everts. Can't catch a break at the moment. 26 out of sixth place and out of
23:30race one. Heartbreak for Everts. But Carles race this then. Sasha, I tell you what, Sasha
23:40Coonan. He's up to sixth place. That would have been seventh a moment ago. Obviously with
23:46Everts going out, so everybody gets promoted. Carles race this now up to fifth. Sasha Coonan
23:51sixth, Mikula seventh, Everts dropping down the leaderboard as it stands right now. Smolders
23:54now inherits that eighth place. And then it will be Kaleimo into ninth, latter 10th.
24:01And it's Sandro Sauce, just staying to the inside. One of the riders being lapped there.
24:06Where is he? He's in 18th place. Ferez! Does he re-emerge on track? Yes, he does. Just ahead of
24:13his teammate.
24:13Major moment in the race. Ferez went swamp diving just to the outside of the track in the gutter. Manages
24:25to get back on track. But that five second advantage has been eaten up as his teammate
24:29is right there sooner than he'd anticipated. Less than a second in it. And that was a spike
24:35in the heart rate that Ferez didn't need. How did he stay up? How did both riders stay up? Wow.

24:43about fireworks. McClellan leads somehow. I don't think I've ever seen two riders come to a stop
24:52in the middle of a race for the lead like that. Both of them at the same time almost stationary.
24:57And Lagerfelder is now putting on the pressure from behind. What a scrap. But McClellan, what a ride.
25:01And problems here for the 99er, Ferez. He seems to have hit the wall. He's trying to regroup
25:05and recover. And again, feet off the pegs. Wow. First to third in about five corners.
25:13Focus. Be smart. That's the message for Guillem Ferez. The wheels just starting to fall off
25:18in this first race for the championship leader. McClellan, Lagerfelder, they won't care about
25:22that as they're going to jostle over first and second position now. But a big couple of moments
25:27in this MX2 race involving the championship leader. Not what we expected here. Maybe just
25:34a loss in concentration that sent him off the side of the track. Maybe into the great unknown.
25:38He was so far off the track. Like I say, he went swamp fishing, swamp diving just along
25:43the gutter there. The rain ditch. And then he emerged. But then all of a sudden under pressure,
25:47trying to pick up the pace when he wasn't expecting to. Another couple of mistakes just to keep his
25:52teammate back. Another mistake then where they almost both came together. And another one before
25:57Simon Lagerfelder kind of found his way by. So, wow. Big moments for Guillem Ferez in the
26:04latter stages of this first MX2 race here in Lommel. Like I say, Paul, that's the rain ditch.
26:10If there had been anything apart from drought season right now in Europe, that ditch would have
26:14been full of water. He would have been in real trouble. But yeah, like you say, able to recover.
26:17And yeah, what a moment for McLellan. This is piling it on now. But this is the danger with
26:22those outside lines as well. They get so beaten up and pushed wide that they become more frail
26:26and a lot thinner at the top. So you just push that one time too many with back markers ahead
26:31using those lines as well. It's not the same line as it was a lap ago. And yeah, Ferez just
26:37maybe running out of real estate. The berm collapsing. He went off the side of the track. But here he
26:43is
26:43looking like he is regrouping. Can he go after Langenfelder for that second position? Might
26:49not need to, you know. Still going to keep his lead intact and increase his lead over
26:53Sacha Kunin. Watch this. Everything looks so nice here. But then he just folds the front there.
26:57And then that stands him up. Then he disappears. Now you see me. Now you don't. Gets back on track
27:02eventually just there. And then he makes a mistake in the next turn as he tries to keep
27:08McClellan at bay who was held up behind the back marker. So he took full use of that. And then
27:13in the next left-hander
27:14just offline here again. Back end working overtime. And then a couple of corners later.
27:19How did McClellan save that as well and park it just in time?
27:24And then here another dive bomb into that turn. That just ruined his rhythm through there. Langenfelder took that with
27:31both hands.
27:32Another moment there. Absolute crazy stuff from Perez.
27:38What an insane few corners that was for the championship leader. But incredible to see him recover from that.
27:44Almost wonder if he might have shook himself up. Maybe given himself a couple of acres going through there.
27:48But yeah, now recovering. I wouldn't say it's over though. Because he is still only a couple of seconds behind
27:53Langenfelder.
27:54So he sees some of the board signals then for Perez. Four laps, smart points. That's what you need. Just
28:00take those championship points.
28:03Interesting move by the Triumph team there. Just flipping the board like you would to a lap rider.
28:07Except it was the Langenfelder to tell Simon that Perez ain't out the picture yet.
28:14Still, he's going to extend his lead to 39 points as it stands right now.
28:17Because Sascha Kunin, just a few positions behind him. It was 34 at the start of the race.
28:24Yeah, decent recovery from Sascha Kunin. You just make that in seventh.
28:27Scott Smulders on a career best at the moment in eighth. As is Calermo, of course, in ninth.
28:32And Oli Colmer, as mentioned, the champion is racing KTM. The British rider from up north there is in 11th
28:37place.
28:37That will be a career best so far. Holding back Noel Zanot in 12th.
28:41Just going back to Guillaume Perez here. He only did that one GP last year.
28:46And obviously, as a championship leader, it brings a whole different weight of expectation.
28:48You want to hold yourself accountable. He was doing that so well up until about lap 12, you know, a
28:54lap or so ago.
28:56And yeah, when you lose your rhythm, race weekend is completely different here from training weekends.
29:01And maybe Perez just starting to find that out here. This was the opening lap.
29:05Valentin Keyes got up the inside of the Red Bull KTM of Sascha Kunin. Those two went down there.
29:14And then Sascha Kunin has been playing catch-up since then. He's now up into sixth position.
29:19Not the opening lap that he wanted.
29:23Tell you what, Valentin Keyes is not going to be on KTM's Christmas card list at the end of the
29:26year.
29:27And I don't think there's going to be a hint of a factory contract imminent either after that little take
29:31-out.
29:32Yeah, there's a bit of MMA action going on there from Sascha.
29:35Just decided to keep Valentin down as he used him as leverage to get back on his feet.
29:39But a nice recovery so far. 36 seconds back from Janis Rezlis.
29:43Very difficult now if no one else in front of him makes the mistakes.
29:46But Carles has passed his brother ball. I hadn't seen that before.
29:49So yeah, Carles getting himself up into fourth place on the lack of his first podium last weekend.

29:56Yeah, as he goes around in seventh position.
29:59Yeah, Carles Rezlis gaining momentum in this second half of this season.
30:04MX2. Podium last week. The lead racial eye. The lead racial eye. This one as well.
30:09In that fourth place. Janis Rezlis fifth now. About four seconds further back.
30:13First race though. It's always a tester. It's the second one that is the deciding factor in this.
30:19is how much have you got left in the tank. How quickly you can recover. It's hot out there. It's
30:22physical.
30:23It's only going to be worse later on for race two. I'm sure they may go out and fluff up
30:27one or two parts here.
30:28But they will keep as much character in the race track as possible.
30:31Just to keep it that elevated status as the toughest track in the world for a reason.
30:36A few shufflings behind there. Paul Colermo has now gone to eighth place. So Smoulders slipping back to tenth at
30:42the moment.
30:43Lotte ninth. So yeah, Smoulders has made a mistake there. He's suddenly fallen right back in the order.
30:48The first sector of the previous lap. Smoulders are two minute thirty. Compared to all those around him in the
30:53two minute teens.
30:57Over the line then. Julius Meikle. Fourteen laps complete for him. He's about nine or ten seconds behind.
31:05Sasha Kunin who's coming back in the opposite direction. Lapping riders there. But he's having a good season actually is
31:10Julius Meikle.
31:10I tell you what, he got dressed in the dark and he's got one white boot, one black boot on.
31:14Bless him. We'll have a word with him after that.
31:15You can't tell from the front but from the back. White left boot, black. I know what he's trying to
31:21do. He's trying to do the rossy thing.
31:22You know, he's trying to be different. Yeah, one light side, one dark side. Yeah, his light side is ever
31:26so cheerful. The young Czech rider.
31:28But this is his last GP as a teenager. He turns 20 just before Sweden. Alvi Colamo here. Up to
31:33eight. What a fantastic ride this kid is having from Sweden.
31:37The Husvarno rider. Just looking very, very comfortable here in what is his second MX2 ride of the season.
31:46Benefiting from points in both races a week ago in Czech Republic in Locket. Three to go. Took a look
31:51over the shoulder there.
31:52He wants to see how far Valerio Latta is behind him. And he's already put 1.9 seconds between him
31:59and the Honda HRC.
32:02Patronus rider. Factory Honda, I might add. And a very, very private machine that Calamo is on. The Young Motion
32:09powered by Risa motorcycle.
32:15So the Husvarno. Probably opening a few eyebrows this weekend. Okay, how much of that is a sand effect? Can
32:21you do it again in the hard pack?
32:22Well, a week ago on a slightly different circuit. 17.19. Maybe there were a few nerves there. But no
32:29such thing as nerves here this weekend.
32:31Might get nervous next weekend though, of course. Sorry, not next weekend. The weekend after when we head to Udovala
32:36for his home GP in Sweden.
32:38But Calamo getting a bit squirrelly there. But you'll feel the pressure. He'll certainly be happy to have the factory
32:43Honda behind him.
32:44But yeah, still pressing on. Great turn looking ride this. Yeah, you see there were one or two little mistakes
32:49he's making this late on in the race.
32:52He's obviously come from sort of around about 14th, 15th place. Yeah, there's been a couple of retirees in the
32:56form of Everts and Carsmakers.
32:58Keys on the opening lap who he's already ahead of anyway at that point. But yeah, to get himself there
33:02into that top ten.
33:03That is a fantastic ride for the young Swede. But maybe just trying a little too hard to stay there
33:09ahead of Latta now.
33:10Anywhere in the top ten will be a good result for him. And if he does bring it home, that'll
33:14be fine.
33:14But maybe he has time to watch some of this race in action a little later on and pick out
33:18that lap.
33:19Just to sort of see where he needs to improve. Normally these guys have spotters all around this racetrack as
33:24well.
33:24Anyway, his car is racing is closing in on Guillem-Ferres. This for third place.
33:32And the one lap board will be going out in a few corners from now.
33:37Maxim Groh being lapped there in 13th. He was challenging for the foxhole shot with Everts at the start of
33:41the race.
33:43And was being a menace in the early part as well for the first couple of laps.
33:48Yes, I think we call the wall there. It looked like Ferez was relaxing almost maybe a little bit too
33:53much.
33:54Because Carles certainly is not on the relaxation tour. He's heading right towards the back wheel of the Spaniard here.
33:59It would be a nice scalp for the Latvian.
34:03Yeah, whenever you're passing the championship leader, it doesn't matter where it is, at what point of the race, you
34:08make that pass stick as well.
34:09It's a nice little shot in the arm of confidence and a nice little pick-me-up ahead of race
34:13too as well.
34:14Because you can get there in that third place, you've got an even better chance of being on the podium
34:18than if you were in fourth place for instance.
34:20You need certain results to go with you, for you, of course you do.
34:24But the further up the leaderboard, second, third, whatever, gives you an overall better chance of that podium.
34:30Ferez knows that as well. It looks like he's gathered himself into the final lap.

34:41Carles Raceless challenging for that top three position.
34:46Got a third in race two. A week ago in Czech Republic, Lockett, he got another third in race two
34:51in Latvia.
34:53Eyeing up a third top three finish of the season so far, but Ferez will be reluctant to yield that
34:59position.
35:00Definitely pushing the Spaniard here, the big kicker in that corner before the media centre there.
35:04And yeah, he definitely has to turn up the wick here to hold up to third.
35:09That sky shot doesn't really do the track any kind of justice at all, does it?
35:16Looking to make the lunge down the inside here, less than half a lap to go for the number 47.
35:21Carlos Raceless looking to get in and out this turn early, that's exactly what he does.
35:26He can't run it down the inside here, Ferez making himself very wide and creating very narrow entrances into those
35:32corners for Carlos Raceless to negotiate.
35:34So he's going to go the long way round here. Still a handful of corners to go. Follows him through
35:43into this next left-hander.
35:48Camden McClellan already going down past pit lane. There's Langenfelder in the opposite direction heading for the wall jump, the
35:54liquid molly jump.
35:57Ferez, few Spanish fans in the crowd there urging him on to try and maintain that third place.
36:02But what a ride for Camden McClellan. Didn't make the best start, was outside of the top ten. Thirteenth I
36:07think he was on the opening lap.
36:08Yeah. But he has just been methodical. He was ruthless. But he was calm. Cool, calm and collected.
36:15He wins race one here in Lommel. Can he do it again in race two?
36:20A lot of that depends on how he feels, but he looks fresh as a daisy.
36:25McClellan, Langenfelder, Ferez hangs on for third. He'll have a word with himself afterwards as well.
36:29Tell himself to calm down a little bit. But it was just one of those little moments.
36:32Made that mistake. Everything was looking good. And then forced himself off the track.
36:37Put himself under pressure for the space of about a lap also. And then they just had to kind of
36:41calm it back down.
36:42But race lists off the side of the track there as he was challenging Ferez for that third place.
