00:00Good afternoon.
00:02I want to start by saying, you know, I really feel like coming out of OTAs,
00:08I felt like we built some positive momentum and really, really happy with
00:12where this team is right now.
00:14I really hate the fact that something I was a part of could have been a
00:18distraction for this team, my teammates, this organization, because a lot of
00:23hard work has been put in and a lot of guys have put a lot of work in for us
00:27to
00:27be in a good spot as a team. You know, I'm happy that, you know, I'm able to
00:31put this behind me. I'm looking forward to moving forward and just continuing
00:36to build day by day with my guys. You know, I really appreciate being a part
00:40of this team, a part of this organization again, and I look forward to just
00:43building every single day in training camp, getting better as a team, getting
00:47better as a player and continuing the positive momentum.
00:54You know, what are your expectations for this team entering camp?
00:57You know, I have high expectations for the team. I believe we have not only the
01:02right guys in the locker room, but, you know, in the coaching staff and the
01:06front office and, you know, there's a lot of things to be positive about, you
01:09know, as a jet fan and as a player and as a part of the organization. I expect us to
01:15go out there every single day, be who we are, which is a team full of, you know,
01:20hardworking men, guys who love the game, and a lot of talent, a lot of talent on
01:25this team as well. So I look forward to building with these guys. I look forward
01:28to being a part of this team and seeing where we can take it.
01:31I saw your Instagram post that said, uh, war ready. How motivated are you just to
01:36kind of get the season started, just kind of put the bad names just kind of behind you?
01:40I'm super excited. You know, I'm very excited just for my teammates. Um, you
01:46know, we just finished up a conditioning test. And I mean, if you see these guys
01:50and the way that they worked just in the short span that we've been away,
01:53everyone came back, like I said, war ready and ready for the long haul. But it's a
01:58day to day process. Um, and we're in it for the long haul, like I said, but we're
02:02focused on the day to day stuff and just getting better each and every day and not
02:06really looking too far ahead or behind, but just staying where our feet are and just
02:09working every day as a team to get better. You said you didn't want to be a distraction.
02:13Have you had conversations with Aaron or even some of your teammates to just clear the air
02:18on everything or is that? Yeah, I've had conversations with, uh, with coach Glenn,
02:22with Mooj and, uh, with all the veterans on the team and the guys on the team. But,
02:26you know, like I said, we're, we're, we're put this behind us and we're moving forward.
02:30You know, how could you put into words, uh, for those of us who are with you when you hear
02:34the first go around, how much of a different player you are and person you are from all the way
02:38back then,
02:38which sounds like a long time ago. Yeah, yeah, I would say, um, you know, experience in this league,
02:43uh, being around a lot of great coaches, uh, being a part of some great organizations,
02:48you know, being under some really great quarterbacks has helped me develop and grow.
02:53And, um, you know, that's what the NFL is about. It's about the process. And so heading into year 14,
02:59um, you know, I still have that same edge, that same chip on my shoulder that I had as a
03:04rookie.
03:04Uh, but I'm a lot more wiser. I've obviously developed in many areas, but that process is
03:11still ongoing. You can never be, uh, you'll never have it. You always got to have that edge and you
03:15always got to try and find new ways to get better. And so I'm looking forward to the challenges of
03:19continuing to get better each and every day.
03:21As a young guy trying to find yourself when you were here initially, could you have imagined
03:26standing here and saying year 14? Uh, you know, I've always had plans to play for a long time in
03:32this league. And, you know, you don't know how, you know, where life's going to take you. That's
03:37the beauty of life. Um, you kind of just roll with it. But, um, I always believed in myself. I've
03:43always believed in my talent and my work ethic. And I believe that that's going to carry me forward
03:47as well. How are you doing this opportunity? Obviously, uh, it's a lot of speculation that
03:51the Jets may draft the quarterback eventually. Uh, just how are you viewing this opportunity with
03:55the Jets? And also, uh, would you like to stay here just past the 2026 season? You know, God has
04:00blessed me to be able to play this long. And, um, I view each and every opportunity each and every
04:06day as a blessing. Um, it's truly a blessing and a gift from God. And so every day I get
04:11a chance to
04:11go into this locker room with my teammates, step on that field with my teammates, um, to be coached by,
04:17you know, great coaches. I just, I'm truly humbled by it. And so,
04:21I don't look too far ahead. I know that there's a lot of work to be done. And I'm,
04:25I'm extremely focused on making sure that we do the right thing as far as the process goes
04:29and let everything else handle itself as I've always done a number of different
04:34people. You've obviously been with a bunch of teams now. What's it? What's the difference
04:39between coming to the place where you've already been? This is, this is something that's new for you.
04:42You know, it's the same for me every single day. It still feels like my first year. Um,
04:47just that passion that I have for the game, the love I have for the game. Um,
04:51you know, I was telling guys, man, I'm so excited just to get back to practice and,
04:55you know, to move forward and to push towards, you know, the season because
04:59it's like I said, such a blessing and I'm so excited, man. I can't, I can't describe how excited
05:04I am just to be a part of this team and to go out there with the great, you know,
05:08players that we
05:09have on this team to be coached by the great coaches that we have and, um, just, just be where
05:15my feet
05:15are. Did you seek any advice or tips or anything from, from veterans who have had the same experience
05:21that you're going through now, which is coming back to a team where you started at Davis? Yeah,
05:25I would say to Mario, to Mario. And I think he and I share the same sentiment that we're just
05:30excited to be here in, in, in the year that we're here. Um, there's nothing more to it. Um,
05:36I'm just excited to go out there and play football. I love football. I love being around
05:40my teammates and, you know, I love the challenge of trying to get better. I think that's what makes
05:44the game special. And I look forward to, you know, trying to be the best player that I can be
05:49every
05:49single day for my teammates. How would you describe how your experience has been so far working with
05:54AG and the kind of head coach? Because you obviously never played for him before. Yeah, I would say,
05:59um, so far so good. You know, AG has done a great job at laying out the blueprint for this
06:04team and where he
06:05wants to take us and it's our job to bring that into manifestation. Um, but I, I love it, man.
06:11I
06:12think the world of this organization, I think the world of coach, coach Glenn, I think he's a great
06:17coach, outstanding coach. And, uh, like I said, it's our job to go prove him right. You know, how
06:21you make a Frank's system and how it fits you? You know, uh, just being a part of, you know,
06:27uh,
06:27coaching system in the short time that I've been a part of it. Um, it's, it's similar to something I've
06:32played in in the past, but it also has its differences. And so the challenge is to learn
06:37all the nuances, um, again, to learn, get the timing down with the wideouts, you know,
06:42get the timing down and the cadence with the, with the linemen, making sure that we're executing
06:46the game plan, uh, the way that coach Reich wants us to execute it. And, uh, I believe he's a
06:50tremendous coach. I mean, his track record speaks for itself, but it's about what we can do now. And so
06:56he's doing a great job of leading the offense. Um, he's laying out the blueprint for us. And again,
07:01we got to go out there and execute and make it happen. Some of the guys down there, right?
07:06Down in Florida during the break. What was that like? You know, how many guys got together?
07:11Uh, yeah, I got, I got together with a bunch of the guys. Um, you know,
07:15we trained on and off the field. We, you know, we hung out, um, you know, just kind of did
07:20what
07:20teammates do. And, uh, some of it was posted online, some of it wasn't. Uh, but, you know,
07:25I really think we made some progress, you know, in the past few weeks. And I look forward to seeing
07:29how we can build on that. That's what I was going to ask. Was your training any different? Like,
07:34I know you went with some of these guys working, but was your training any different coming into
07:38this one this year? No, uh, I feel like every year I just work harder and harder and smarter
07:43as well. Um, I try to get better in every way that I can. And improvement doesn't just happen,
07:48um, on the field on game day. You know, it starts in the offseason. And so my preparation for the
07:53season was just the same as it's always been. But again, I've gotten wiser, I've gotten smarter,
07:58and I feel like I've developed as well. So that's something that you have to continue to do. You
08:03have to challenge yourself every single day to get better. And so I look forward to that challenge.
08:07And I appreciate the fact that, um, in year 14, I still have a lot of room for improvement.
08:12Who are you most looking forward to working with tomorrow morning when you guys get on the field?
08:16All of the guys, all of the guys, um, again, facing, you know, Demario and, uh, you know,
08:22just matching wits with him on the field, uh, you know, bringing the offense together. All of us,
08:27man, just, you know, developing as players together, pushing each other to get better.
08:31Um, you know, being coachable learning and, you know, just trying to be the best players that we
08:36can be on, on the daily basis so that when the time comes, we can showcase it.
08:40And how is your relationship with Garrett developed over the past couple of months?
08:45It's been great. You know, I think the world of Garrett, you know, I've followed his career
08:48since he was at Ohio State. And, um, I think he's, he's a great receiver, tremendous person.
08:53Um, the way that he works, his work ethic, uh, his talent speaks for itself, but, um,
08:59just a great teammate as well. So I look forward to building with him, but not only him, all the
09:03guys and, um, you know, he's a great leader and I would say he, he probably say the same.
09:07You know, when it comes to moving forward and putting this stuff from the summer behind you,
09:11do you feel like you have to do anything differently going forward to avoid those headlines
09:15and that stuff kind of happening? You know, I just look forward to practice tomorrow and,
09:19uh, you know, moving towards the season. You mentioned Garrett. Was he able to come down
09:24Florida with you able to work out during that last month? Uh, we, yeah, we got some work in. Uh,
09:29we didn't post anything online, but we got some work in and we were able to, you know, kind of
09:33build there.
