00:10to build the Klang Utara Police Headquarters under the Jana Wibawa program.
00:16Businessman Lian Tan Chuan, 55, testified on Tuesday that he believed former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had helped
00:24Nepturus Sendirian Berhad, a company he founded, obtain the project.
00:30Lian said Nepturus received the letter of acceptance from the Public Works Department, J.K.R., on January 12, 2022,
00:39and four days later instructed a RM1 million cheque to be issued to Bersatu.
00:44He said he handed the cheque to Datuk Azman Yusuf, asking him to either pass it to a Bersatu leader
00:50or bank it into the party's account.
00:53Under questioning by Deputy Public Prosecutor Datuk Wan Shaharuddin Wan Ladin, Lian said the payment was not a donation but
01:01consideration.
01:03He testified that the contribution had been agreed upon once the company received the letter of acceptance, adding that he
01:10believed Nepturus would not have passed the Finance Ministry's evaluation or been awarded the contract without Muhyiddin's support.
01:17Lian said he had engaged Segambut Bersatu Deputy Chief Adam Radline to obtain Muhyiddin's endorsement for the company's application and
01:26submitted five pre-qualification applications for the project through him.
01:29Muhyiddin, 79, faces four charges of abusing his position to solicit RM232.5 million for Bersatu in connection with Jana
01:41Wibawa projects and three money laundering charges involving RM200 million allegedly deposited into the party's bank accounts.
01:49The trial before Justice Noor Ruwena Mudnodin continues on Wednesday.
