New details have emerged in the corruption trial of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin — as the High Court heard testimony on Thursday (April 16) on millions of ringgit deposited into Bersatu's bank account through a series of transactions.

00:01New details have emerged in the corruption trial of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin
00:06as the High Court heard testimony on millions of ringgit deposited into Bersatu's bank account
00:11through a series of transactions.
00:13The Court was told that a total of 5 million ringgit was deposited into Bersatu's account
00:18in several transactions between 2021 and 2022.
00:22The seventh prosecution witness, Bukit Tunku CMB branch assistant manager Herdayanti Madh Hassan
00:28testified that four cheques were issued under the name of businessman Datuk Azman Youssef
00:33on two dates, September 24, 2021 and November 3, 2022.
00:40Based on Azman's bank statement, registered under the address of KCJ Engineering Sendirian Berhad,
00:46Herdayanti confirmed the monies were transacted out of Azman's account.
00:50She also confirmed a bank form for the opening of Azman's private bank account.
00:54However, when questioned by Muhyiddin's lawyer, Datuk Amir Hamza Arshad,
00:59the witness admitted she was unsure of the link between KCJ Engineering and Azman.
01:05In a notable exchange during cross-examination, Amir Hamza pressed the witness
01:09that any payments through cheques is a recorded, transparent payment.
01:13To which Herdayanti confirmed, yes.
01:16A second witness, Alfian Offman, assistant manager of Maybank's Kota Kemuning branch,
01:22told the court that construction company Nepturis Sendirian Berhad
01:25had made a separate 1 million ringgit transaction to Bersatu via cheque in February 2022.
01:31Under cross-examination, Alfian confirmed that the transaction by Nepturis
01:35did not involve Muhyiddin's personal bank account.
01:37The hearing before Justice Noor Ruin Ahmad Nordin is set to resume on April 28th.
