00:00The Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan dan Undang and its secretary have filed a fresh application
00:06for leave to cite Sikhs people for contempt of court.
00:11Lawyer Stephen Thiru said the fresh application was filed after attempts to serve the Sikhs
00:16with court documents in earlier contempt proceedings were unsuccessful. He claimed the
00:21Sikhs had been avoiding service since the High Court allowed his clients to begin committal
00:26proceedings earlier this month. The Sikhs include the former Undang of Sungai Ujung Mubarak Dohaq,
00:33the Undang of Jelebu Maruf Mat Rashad, the Undang of Johol Muhammad Abdullah, and the Undang of Rembau
00:39Abdul Rahim Yassin. They also include the Tunku Besar of Tampin Tunku Syed Razman Tunku Syed Idris Al-Qadri
00:47and the Shah Bandar of Sungai Ujung Badaruddin Abdul Khalid. The High Court adjourned the
00:54committal proceedings after being told that the Court of Appeal will hear the Sikhs individual's
00:59stay application tomorrow. The Court of Appeal has also fixed October 19th for case management
01:06to set a hearing date for their appeal against the High Court's decision to allow contempt proceedings.
01:13Earlier this month, the High Court granted leave for contempt proceedings after finding a
01:18prima facie case that the Sikhs had breached the interim injunction issued on June 5th. The injunction
01:25bars them from holding, calling, continuing or attending any DKU meetings, including a proposed
01:30special sitting announced on the same day. It also prohibits them from suspending, removing or
01:38interfering with the DKU secretary's duties, forming any committee to take over his powers,
01:43or taking any action that could alter the status quo as it stood before May 21st.
