Hello Folks!
I hope I find you all well. So today I made these delicious hasselback potatoes…such a lovely potato side, and a nice alternative to roast potatoes or chips. So easy to make too :) I’ve used baby potatoes…but you could use larger potatoes if you wanted, but you’d need to cook them for longer.

Everything I used will be below.

00:06well hello there folks and a very warm welcome as usual back to what's for tea and it's lovely
00:12to see you all and i hope that i find you all very well indeed so i have been asked
00:17for some
00:17more affordable recipes or you know less ingredient recipes which are quite easy to do so today
00:24i've made these delicious Hasselback potatoes it's just a lovely potato side and a nice alternative
00:32you know to like roast potatoes or chips or something like that like i said really easy to
00:37make i am using baby potatoes but if you wanted you could use larger potatoes so let me go and
00:43show
00:43you how i put these together and everything will be on the screen as we go and down below in
00:49the
00:49description box the first thing i've got there is a couple of tablespoons of butter which i've just
00:54melted in the microwave and to this i'm going to add two tablespoons of olive oil but use whatever
01:01oil you prefer also a dash of salt some black pepper as well this is just to add flavor to
01:09the potatoes
01:10and then some garlic powder you can use your own combination whatever you prefer some parsley and
01:16i'm going to add some rosemary as well and that will do give that a good stir together and i'm
01:22going to
01:22use small baby potatoes but you can use like i said larger potatoes if you prefer but they will just
01:28take longer to cook obviously so just wash and dry your potatoes grab a very sharp knife and you just
01:35want
01:35to make cuts along the top of your potato just like this just leave a wee gap in between your
01:42cuts
01:42and don't cut all the way through you know don't cut all the way through to the bottom you want
01:47a nice
01:47fanned out effect like this but as the potatoes bake you know and the skin shrinks they will fan
01:53out more anyway so yeah don't cut them all the way through to the bottom and then give them a
01:59good brush
01:59all over with that melted butter and herbs and oil and just get right in between all the wee layers
02:06as
02:07much as you can this wee silicone brush is really good for this because it gets in you know right
02:12down in
02:13between all of those layers so just take your time make sure they've got a good coating of that oil
02:19now you can obviously do these in the oven or the air fryer whatever you prefer so in the oven
02:25they'll
02:25take about 40 minutes in the air fryer they will take about 25 minutes so in the air fryer 190c
02:34like i said
02:35for about 25 minutes or you can do them in the oven and they will come out looking something like
02:41this and
02:42aren't they lovely i think they look ever so pretty like i said they have opened out and fanned out
02:47a
02:47wee bit more because like i said as they cook and the skin sort of shrinks it just opens them
02:53up
02:53even more like i said they are a lovely alternative to roast potatoes or chips you know if you normally
03:00have chips or roast potatoes try these instead and i've just popped these onto a plate just to get a
03:06nice
03:06thumbnail picture and lots of you are saying you're loving the new thumbnail picture so thank you so
03:13much for that i've got somebody else doing that now i am hopeless at that kind of thing so we
03:17had these
03:18for our tea last night let me tell you these are so crispy on the top but lovely and soft
03:23and fluffy
03:24inside and we just had some baked beans and a steak slice as well and it was a lovely simple
03:30combination
03:31because like i said i have been asked for more easier to do recipes cheaper to do recipes things
03:37that are a wee bit quicker to make so hopefully that's what you had in mind because i thoroughly
03:42enjoyed doing those and i'll be doing those again very soon i'd imagine so thank you so much for
03:47watching and as usual a huge thank you to the supporters of the channel over on my patreon page
03:53and to the channel members here on youtube for you all for youtube youtube for you all for watching
