05:22and then just realized that, hey, it's not going to be here,
05:24knowing that it's not his favorite track.
05:26Jet probably knows that, so, yeah, Hunter's going to fight it,
05:30but at the same time, I don't know how much he will,
05:32especially on a track that he might be a little uncomfortable with,
05:35and now you're starting to see that gap stabilize with Hayden Deegan.
05:38You feel like these guys are on the break,
05:40but Hayden's starting to catch that toe.
05:43The longer he stays there, the more confident he's going to get.

07:03It looks like he's just kind of sitting back, and when he needs to, he's able to pull away from

18:13Really, we're looking for them to not accelerate off the track, check up, and come back on safely.
18:18And as you can see, Jet accelerated while off that racetrack.
18:21And that is a set penalty in the rulebook of a one-position penalty.

18:55What you don't want to do is go down, throw this thing away, and end up third, which is going
19:00to allow your brother to end up winning this overall.
19:01So I'm curious to see that, but nonetheless, Jet Lawrence is going to be up front.
19:05See if he puts in a couple laps, see if he can break Hunter, make Hunter start worrying about what
19:10Haydeegan's doing, and he ride this race out, but a strong ride by the number one.
19:15With the penalty, the pass doesn't matter for the overall.
19:18Hunter will still get the win, but it would be the difference between Jet being pushed back to second, or
19:25he would have been pushed back to third if he had not made that pass.
19:28So it's still beneficial to have made the move, it's just not going to be enough for him to get
19:32the photo and overall win.
19:34Yeah, and you're talking about this champion, that's five points, you know, I guess, or four points.
19:39It would have been two if, let's say he went from second to third.

20:17And Hunter's got to push it, so maybe if you know that, you'll just kind of stick there.
20:21And like I told you guys, it's all just unreal.

20:34got. Sometimes it's a little too much, but he'll make up for it, and he just did.

21:38This has happened far too many times for the number one, the way he would like it to play out,
21:44and now he's in a duel.

21:51He's just revving that motorcycle, making him seem just as close.

22:51Now he will only get credited for third of the moto, so he's going to lose two championship points because
22:57of that crash.
22:58Yeah, and, you know, we've been talking about Jet's mistakes, right, this year, and then he's crashed more and other.
23:05But I can almost argue, maybe that's because of Hunter and the pace that these two are running.
23:11I believe Jet's probably riding as fast as he ever have in his career, and the fact that Hunter's been
23:16able to beat him
23:16has made Jet have to take more chances, and maybe in the years past he would get that gap, be
23:22able to calm down,
23:22and so maybe those mistakes wouldn't come in because he wasn't having to push that hard.
23:27Hunter's making him ride on that level, and you're starting to see these mistakes, and it's expected.

26:08But he still wants to hold him off.
26:10Because if Deegan gets him, then he'd be pushed from third to fourth.
26:14And I would actually allow him to leave.
26:16Well, no, I wouldn't say Hayden would be in front of him there.
26:18And overall, yeah.

26:22But I was listening to when Jet scrubbed off that jump.
26:25I saw you kind of hop out of your seat.
26:27But it was one of those things that he went through a scrubbing.

26:31And what you have to do there, you almost have to push the motorcycle away and make it

26:37Because what you don't want that thing to do is hook up.
26:40So maybe he started to scrub a little early and he just made it.

26:45You just have to be on alert over the spinning on the face.

27:44And we saw Jett make a mistake earlier in his race and almost make a few other ones.
27:47And so just continue putting that pressure on him.

27:54The last few pit boards for Deegan, it's been all you have, pressure and hit your marks.
27:59And talking with Brent Duffy and the team, they said, hey, with Deegan and his bike right
28:04now, we're not making those big swings like you were at the beginning of the season just
28:07to get him comfortable.
28:08It's now these small changes just based on feedback from previous races.
28:13And if you look at the setup from now in the first four races, he said it's completely different.
28:18And obviously we're staying extremely comfortable on this board.
28:23He's getting better, no doubt.

29:04different racetrack here at Washougal for Eli.

29:10Yeah, some good news for Eli Tomac this week.
29:13Yeah, it's good stuff.
29:14They did a pregnancy announcement and they are ready to have instead of baby girl.
29:19And they are stoked about it because the boys are wild and they're very excited to be welcoming
29:25a baby girl at a new one.
29:26So that was some good news on the Eli Tomac front.
29:29Congratulations to the new family.
29:30Yeah, that was cool, Katie.
29:31We got to see the whole family at the races last weekend at Spring Creek.
29:35So Eli, got to get back to business on the motorcycle.
29:39And also still living that dad life as well.
29:43So he's pulled it a bit from Simonson.
29:47I can tell you dad life during the week, coming to the races, this ain't nothing.
29:51Yeah, Eli's like, you guys might think I'm struggling.
29:53You should see me during the week.
29:56But he's going to be juggling four kids at home.
29:58Yeah.
29:58That's going to be difficult.
30:02Either way, I'm sure the fans, you can hear the cheering.

30:05Like you said, they were cheering you everywhere you went, no matter what position you were in.

30:16So, yeah, he's struggling right now.
30:18But, yeah, he's still Eli towback.
30:20Not struggling is Hunter Lawrence.
30:24And this is a bit of a trend here because it's going to be another overall win for him.
30:30Now, both times, it looked like Jet might have had him covered last week, felt.
30:36Looked like Jet might have had him covered this time, but the penalty and the crash.
30:41But the scorebook shows that this guy, he's winning races one way or another.
30:47Nah, he is.
30:47And I believe he's going to stand his points lead as well.
30:50So, yeah, Jet, yes, once the penalty comes, he will.
30:55Yeah.
30:56Should be, I believe, a 12-point gap when it was 10 coming in.
30:59And with only six motos to go, that's pretty difficult to make up when they're going 1-2 so often.
31:04Yeah, that's why I thought, like, this weekend, you know, we didn't talk about it much,
31:08but it could be a big weekend just like Levi in that two-fifths class.
31:11They'll really solidify, hey, get back on track, slow down.

31:17You know, Hunter, if he can come out and win this race, or, you know, then you start going to
31:22the next few races,
31:22and then you start thinking about, I just want to tie him, you know, and as long as you don't
31:27lose too many points,
31:28even if you get second, it's starting to become math.
31:32And like you said, these guys, for them being outside the podium, you know, things got to go crazy.
31:37But the way they're riding, one and two, looks pretty likely their start.
31:42You know, today, that's why we go racing.
31:43You never know, Hunter Lawrence's.
31:46Yeah, got to take your hat off to him.

31:49And you know what we have not talked about enough?
31:51Because he went out and dominated the opener with the 1-1 score.
31:54There was a worry coming into this campaign that that Supercross championship that went down to the wire
31:59obviously was an emotional loss when it's that close, and it was for Hunter, with Ted Rockson winning out.
32:05So there was a worry, would he be at his best self?
32:09And then we forgot about that instantly because he crushed the opener.
32:12But what a phenomenal all-around season it has been for the 96.
32:16Yeah, and I think out of all the riders, Hunter Lawrence is built to go to overcome something like that.
32:23I would even say more than his brother, Jed.
32:25You know, Jed's had a lot of success, but Hunter's been able to deal with all the injuries
32:29and then think about possibly quitting racing,
32:32but then also having to live in the shadow of his younger brother beating him.
32:36So when you think about it, he was built to come back out here,
32:39and normally these guys have that Supercross hangover.
32:42Hunter showed none of that and was a dominant, and man, the guy's been on the roll since then.
32:49So just to clarify all this, with the penalty,
32:51Chip will go from second to third in this photo, but he will still be second overall
32:55because Prado and Deegan flip-flopped third and fourth in the photos as they have done many times this year.

33:09We're at an eight-point sweep maybe?
33:11Here, Jed wins that, he gains another three points, but now because Hunter's winning,
33:16he loses five points in this, so.

33:19Between the penalty and the crash, that's two positions lost for Jed.
33:25That would be five, and then it also moves Hunter up one with the crash.

34:09And when you think about Hunter Lawrence, you know, they had to go in between the moto and really work
34:14as if it was a rotter down.

34:16They had to go back to the drawing board and figure things out because his starts were terrible today.
34:20He ended up outside the top three.
34:21Oh, yeah.
34:22Oh, it comes out, and he hole shots this one.
34:23So, oh, yeah.

34:31Truthfully, the way this track is and how this, you might just want to let him run to the finish
34:36line before I say anything else.
34:38So, yeah, this track is brutal.
34:39The way this season has gone in both classes for sure.
34:43Good to see Cameron Cameron, his mechanic, back at the races.
34:46Missed a couple of mid-season with back pain, and has been hampering him on and off the last few
34:53years.

34:54Guys, I don't know if anything is going to come to fruition, but Jet is absolutely sending it this last
35:00lap.
35:00He's down to three seconds.
35:01So, Hunter, better, he just got to stay in this thing.
35:04Jet is riding the hardest.
35:06He has all moto here.
35:07It's just emotion.
35:08No, I was actually going to say that JT said that.
35:12You got to wonder, does Jet now know about the penalty?
35:15Because he's really going after his brother.
35:17I know he wants to win, but really to take all these chances.
35:20And, yeah, Hunter does not know.
35:22So, his last thing he saw was five seconds.
35:25The last time around, it's actually all this lap.
35:30We're going to have to see.
35:31He made up about two seconds last time around.
35:34He's making up a ton.
35:35Look at this.
35:35He's got him in sight.
35:36It was 1.8 seconds.
35:39It was 11 seconds when Jet got up and going after the crash.
35:44This is incredible.
35:47Yeah, if Hunter can get through this section, he should be okay.
35:53Now, the only thing I would say, if Hunter just let him by because of the penalty, he doesn't feel
35:57like, that would be that relative teammate.
35:59But I don't think he's going to allow that to happen.
36:00Now, with the title on the line, last turn, Jet got there into the whoops.

36:07Hunter Lawrence is a winner at Washougal.
36:11One of his toughest tracks.
36:13One of his biggest wins.
36:16Deegan was pushing.
36:18Jet got away from him there at the end.
36:21And he's going to end up third overall.
36:23That's pretty impressive by Jet to really lay down that time.
36:27I mean, hey, Deegan, I know he's probably backing it off, but, man, he put a gap on him.
36:31Probably the angers I've ever seen Jet ride that last lap.
36:35Maybe some frustration building up.
36:37Yeah, Jet went 2.15.7 in the last lap where Hunter was freezing out of 2.19.
36:43And Jet was able to make up almost four seconds on him right there.
36:47But Hunter Lawrence, we talked about it.
36:51Everybody talked about it.
36:52He had to endure it, I'm sure, throughout press day yesterday.
36:55All the questions about this is not your best venue, and now he's just won it.
36:59Yeah, I was about to say that.
37:00Big, big momentum shift for Hunter.
37:03And then you start to feel what happened last weekend with Jet.
37:06And this weekend, maybe you start to think, maybe this championship is kind of meant to be.
37:11You know, when Jet's on it, he's still.
