00:42Looks like Deegan kind of backed it off, probably more saying he's going to get in there, but
00:46look at this, opening lap, he's already trying to attack Jett Lawrence, I believe he might
00:50have the pass, let's see if Jett Lawrence tries to close him off, and Deegan gets it done.
00:56Hunter in the lead.
00:58Jett and Deegan jump together, Jett retakes it.
01:01Yeah, you notice Hayden right there, he kind of wouldn't say he let Jett by, but he knew
01:04Jett had the inside there, so he kind of backed it off, let's see what Hayden does as these
01:09two brothers are already working together.
01:11Jett's going to try to attack Hunter Lawrence early in this photo.
01:14Oh, a mistake!
01:15Oh, he almost stalled it right there, good save by him.
01:18He didn't even lose any time.
01:20If anything, he pulled away, I don't even know how that's possible, he almost came to a complete
01:23stop, then a mistake for Hunter, and Jett is right there.
01:30One thing with Hayden, he's going to have to take maybe a lap to really see the pace of
01:34these guys, even though he was able to get in the top four, these two were on a different
01:38level compared to everybody else.
01:41Hayden might take a little bit, a couple laps to really get that pace.
01:48This is going to be good.
01:51Let's drop it for 30 minutes and two laps, everyone.
02:00Jett's got some lines different than his brother.
02:06Yeah, you can see the sun coming out, first time all day the sun's been out.
02:11It's a huge challenge for these guys, going in and out of these shadows.
02:23And everywhere Hunter goes, Jett is in a different line.
02:27Really nice line by Jett, that far inside.
02:31Hunter's going to have to pick up on that.
02:36And Jett has better lines, or is he just doing different for the sake of different...
02:41Well, that corner, yeah, had better lines, and Hunter a little O.J. right there, he almost
02:46went down.
02:47So, I don't know if Hunter missed the line, but Jett for sure liked the way he had it.
02:52Just making the track shorter, and it was a lot smoother, making Hunter a little nervous.
02:56And at this point, that's all you want to do.
02:57You know there's only a few opportunities to pass.
03:00You just want to be where he's not.
03:02Keep him looking, maybe a mistake, and get around the 96, and it's going to be harder to do.
03:08That's another opportunity.
03:09Hunter went from left to right, and Jett had nowhere to go, and he goes off the track.
03:14And this might allow Deegan to pass him.
03:17That, oh, couldn't quite get it, but I think Hunter caused that.
03:21Not dirty at all, but just no room to go.
03:25Yeah, Jett got a little bit unbalanced, and we saw that a couple times, kind of the same
03:29way he fell at Southwick, just got unbalanced last weekend in practice, same thing.
03:34So, he goes off the racetrack.
03:38Ah, that might have been Deegan's shot.
03:42So, just Hunter's on the left.
03:44Yeah, he'll end up on the right at the top.
03:46Not dirty, like I said, but...
03:49Yeah, that was really not that Hunter.
03:51Yeah, I mean, Jett just got off a little unbalanced.
03:54What he was trying to do was get on the outside, but Hunter decided to go to the outside.
03:58That didn't throw Jett off.
03:59No, like he could see him off balance.
04:01And right now, the bike's light is kind of no gravity at that point.
04:05So, he's just kind of hanging on.
04:06Gets back on the track.
04:08No harm, no foul there.
04:09But yeah, as you said, maybe that was Peyton Deegan's best shot.
04:12They're starting to pull away.
04:14All right, JT.
04:16Just watching that, guys, it's a part of the shadow game.
04:19And they're in the worst section for that right now.
04:21But when you're coming up that hill, you can't really tell when the front tire's going to leave the ground.
04:26Because you can't make out the differences in the bumps there.
04:29So, it's happened to me.
04:30I think everybody who's gone through that section of time or two has been a little bit off balance.
04:34And don't forget, that right foot that you saw come off is the one that he would use for extra
04:38balance in that section.
04:39Absolutely. Watch this line from JT.
04:43He's a little bit farther on the inside.
04:44I like it because he stays closer here.
04:47But Hunter got through that section a lot better the last lap.
04:49Hunter almost went down here.
04:50He switches his line up.
04:52JT's just going to take the long way around.
04:54But you can see how different this racetrack is now with all these ruts.
04:59Hunter definitely got through that section way better than he did that first lap.

05:05Yeah, I'm talking to Hunter Lawrence about the shadows.
05:08He said, man, I don't like the shadows.
05:09You cannot see.
05:11You know, we have different lenses for this track.
05:12But it's also the color of the dirt.
05:14That doesn't help at all either.
05:16He said, this is not his favorite track.
05:18We all are aware of that.
05:19But he still has to race and ride like it is his favorite track.
05:23Yeah, he is the point leader.
05:25And he can still win the overall if he can win this battle with JT.
05:29What a turnaround that would be after 5-4-5-4 motos on his first four runs on a 450
05:36at this track.
05:37Yeah, and looking at Hunter, the way he's coming into some of these corners,
05:41it's almost like he's missing his braking point, really slamming into it.
05:44And you've got to believe that is the shadow.
05:45So, you know, not surprising when Jett was out front, Hunter tried in that first moto,
05:50tried getting him and then just realized that, hey, it's not going to be here.
05:52Hunter knowing that it's not his favorite track.
05:55Jett probably knows that.
05:56So, yeah, Hunter's going to fight it.
05:58But at the same time, I don't know how much he will, especially on a track that might be a
06:02little uncomfortable with.
06:03And now you're starting to see that gap stabilize with Hayden Deegan.
06:07I feel like these guys are on the break, but Hayden's starting to catch that toe.
06:11The longer he stays there, the more confidence he's going to get.

06:26Yeah, this part is so hard for these guys, especially when that sun comes out.

07:10You know, looking at this lead here, we saw how much pressure Jeff was putting on Hunter.
07:14Hunter was starting to make the mistakes and it was really allowing Hayden to kind of close back up.
07:19You almost wonder, as they kind of sit back a little bit and let Hunter find his flow
07:24and then both of them start pulling away from Hayden and Deegan and then they go and battle.
07:29Because Jett had the pace over Hunter all day.
07:31Looks like he's just kind of sitting back and when he needs to, he's able to pull away from Hayden
07:36and close in on Hunter.
07:37So, I wonder what's going on here as these two work together to try to get away.
07:42So, you're saying there's a possibility that Jett's like, I'm not going to battle right now.
07:46Let's get away from Deegan first.
07:47JT.
07:48Just, you know, watching Jett basically go anywhere that Hunter is not.
07:52And it's really about that roost here.
07:54And somebody asked me this week, like, what is that roost like?
07:57Is it, you know, similar to being kind of hit by a paintball gun?
08:00And I'm like, kind of, but imagine going 40 miles an hour into the paintball while it's being shot at
08:06you.
08:06That's probably more a realistic feeling for this track.
08:10And that's why Jett is going anywhere but directly in the run of that roost.
08:17It's bad.
08:18I don't even know.
08:18It's not even a lot of rocks on this racetrack either.
08:20It's just the dirt, that clay.
08:23And it, it hurts.
08:26See the bottom boxes Prado.
08:28Not the traditional good start for him.
08:29He's happy to do work.
08:31He's ahead of Harrop.
08:32Hampshire is in front of him.
08:34And then we mentioned the battling Ducatis of Ferrandes and Marsha.
08:37Ferrandes would be fourth overall if it ends like this.

08:45They're tied at the moment.
08:50And that's a battle between Webb and Jordan Smith for ninth and tenth.

09:01Yeah, taking it back is great for Webb.
09:04Remember, he had that flat front tire.
09:06And they changed that literally on the track with four laps to go.
09:10And the team could have pulled him off.
09:11He could have ridden off.
09:12But he said, look, to the team, this is so important for those SMX points.
09:16And we talked about that actually earlier in the week, all of us on the call.
09:19These SMX points are so critical as we are heading into the playoffs.
09:23And even people like Cooper Webb are really thinking about it, as are the guys up at the top, too.
09:28Yes, because Hunter has clinched the number one seed now.
09:30But Webb certainly would like to be second going in.
09:34And you can make a lot of money there.
09:36Even just a couple of points to the good can make all the difference.
09:39Hunter certainly is thinking of it as far as taking the big trophy and be the champion over Jed.
09:44He'll have a big advantage on him when the points reset happens.
09:48But right now, it's about the win at Washougal.
09:52Can Jed continue to close in at points?
09:54Or will Hunter equal serve today and keep it a 10-point gap?
10:00Yeah, it's going to be hard.

10:21You feel comfortable and you know, look, I'm going to let Hunter kind of relax a little bit.

10:27In the meantime, they're trying to get away from Haydegan.

11:33where you simply can't see and your eyes haven't adjusted yet.

11:40Yeah, and what makes that worse, as you said, JT, he couldn't see it.
11:43And what he could do was brace because that part was a lot softer.
11:46So he hit it, wasn't expecting that.
11:48And yeah, he took it.
11:49And then now he's back across.
11:51Hair up.

11:54This guy, he can take a punch.
11:56I'll tell you what.
11:57Right back up and right back on pace battling the trials.

12:12He has become quite consistent and solid on this 450.
12:16First promoter cross campaign for him in the 450 class.
12:22And they've really been like, I guess you could say the next best guys.
12:26And that's a new bike for that program.
12:29Yeah, absolutely.
12:30They're trying to get it better.
12:31And, you know, with Jordan, some of the injuries in the past, you know, sometimes the team, they got the
12:36goal to build a bike.
12:37And Jordan has the goal to be here for these races and finished and able to make the bike better.
12:42So you've got to be on the racetrack to do that.
12:44Great job by these guys.
12:45And they'll only get better and better as the year goes on.
12:50And Hempshire digging to perhaps resume the battle with Barsha.
12:54But Barsha has more company.
12:55And it is Prado who blows by.
13:00Justin wasn't expecting that.
13:01He probably thought it was RJ still back there.

15:05So these are the races that he needs and see if he can close in on the Dylan Ferrandez,
15:11our past champion of this class.
