00:00We were sitting there and you're hearing some of the things that are coming out of the ACC of last
00:04week.
00:04Pat Narduzzi talking about how the SEC is better than the Big Ten. ACC is one of the best conferences.
00:11It feels like these are almost just little propaganda weekends now for the conference.
00:16Yeah, in some ways. And I mean, Pat's off base with that take, but Pat's also an entertainer.
00:21You know, when you can say that the ACC is the bigger, better conference than the Big Ten.
00:29And I think to me, you measure a conference in national championships and we can talk about attendance or bull
00:37record or non-conference scheduling or nine game schedules, which the Big Ten has been doing.
00:42But, you know, at the end of the day, I think the Big Ten has the national championships.
00:49And like we were talking about earlier this week, if Oregon were to win a national championship and you had
00:54four different schools win four national titles in four years, I don't know how anybody could dispute that.
00:59Bobby, I don't know about you, but Eli Drinkwitz was the one that I was surprised by that he started
01:06taking shots at the Big Ten scheduling model when, yes, it's true.
01:11Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan, their non-conference schedules weren't great the last three years.
01:15But I don't remember anybody from any of those fan bases complaining about it, especially Ohio State and Indiana playing
01:2216 games.
01:23Yeah, what frustrated me was the fact that you look at Missouri's schedule the past couple of years and they've
01:29got Kansas, I think like some kind of Presbyterian college on the lineups.
01:32Like if you're going to be talking about the Big Ten and having all these non-conference games, you got
01:37to have a couple of really good ones in your back pocket.
01:39They just didn't have that.
01:40Plus, look at the Big Ten.
01:41Again, they're beating all these SEC teams once you get into the playoffs.
01:44So I understand it.
01:46Whenever you're on the top of the mountain, everyone's going to take a shot at you.
01:48But you got to at least come with a little more information, kind of sound more legit if you're going
01:52to be doing that.
01:54Yeah, I totally agree.
01:55And, you know, well, with Missouri, you know, you look at their non-con over the last couple of years.
02:00Central Arkansas was on there.
02:02You know, Murray State.
02:03Yes, they played ranked teams like Kansas State and Boston College.
02:07But it's not like they have an overwhelming non-conference schedule.
02:11And their SEC schedule the last two years has been a little bit weak.
02:14Now, I did look this up, believe it or not.
02:16I was surprised to see that Missouri is 12-5 against the Big Ten since 2000.
02:21So my invitation to Eli Drinkwitz in Missouri is quite easy.
02:25You know, come play in the Big Ten.
02:27Come play some of those Midwest rivals like Illinois and Iowa every year.
02:30They're in that part of the country anyway.
02:33It'd be a lot of fun to see.
02:34But, yeah, I think Bobby said it best.
02:37It is a time where it is propaganda for the conferences.
02:40And we're hearing a little bit of that from the SEC this week.
02:43And I'm sure we'll hear it on some level with the Big Ten.
02:46What I've found over the years is the Big Ten, they find a way to be in lockstep, though.

02:51Like, I think you'll hear the coaches say whatever message it is, it'll be parroted in the same way by
02:57all 18 coaches on some level.
03:00And that's kind of the way, Bill, it felt like the SEC used to be.
03:03And now there's some dissension within the ranks.
03:06And, like, they talk about – when you hear Greg Sankey come up there, Bill, and talk about, like, we're
03:13going back to 1861.
03:14And, like, we're going to secede from the NCAA.
03:17We're going to start our own conference.
03:19I'm like, okay, well, our own deal.
03:21Well, that might be great for football.
03:22But, like, football's not the only sport people play.
03:24It's the only one that makes, you know, the revenue that everybody needs.
03:29But I'm thinking, like, if you do that, like, what is there for your baseball?
03:32What is there for softball?
03:34Like, volleyball.
03:35There's all these other sports that need to be fed.
03:37Basketball.
03:38Women's basketball.
03:40And it might sound good in football if people want to do this.
03:43But there's no way you could just peel that off and everybody's going to be okay with it.
03:47So, it seems like it's a little bit of saber-rattling to me.
03:50Like, and I can't imagine there's any real legitimacy to it.

03:54And I think part of it is if they – what his message is to me, it's less about let's
04:00go do a Super League and more we kind of want to make our own rules.
04:04You know, like, we want to make the rules that benefit the SEC.
04:08And one of the issues with college football as a whole in the Power Four is the ACC, the Big
04:1312, the Big 10, and the Power – who did I miss?
04:16The Big 12, Big 10, ACC, and SEC.
04:18The four of them are never on the same page.
04:21I mean, it's taken us this long to get to nine conference games.
04:25You know, so who says that the ACC is going to play by the same rules as the SEC?
04:29You know, when it comes to NIL, Portal, you know, how you handle even things like the Brendan Forsby case
04:36this summer.
04:36And I think that's part of it.
04:38But, you know, when they talk about breaking away, I think it's more of a shot at the NCAA to,
04:43hey, get your act together, get some rules in place, and, you know, let's get this.
04:48So we're not talking about Wild West and those kind of things that we've been talking about in college football
04:52the last few years.
