00:09earlier early in the season i actually lifted because i think that gives more incentive for
00:16like notre dame usc to come back and it it's lifted if the the strength of schedule metric
00:23comes into play like that you actually reward ohio state and texas for playing that early
00:28season game or ohio state and alabama for playing those home and home series i'm with you i'm hoping
00:34that that's the case and because you've got ohio state texas this year you've got michigan and
00:40oklahoma which like if those teams were both in the big 12 like that would be awesome you have
00:44the two premier brands of the two premier conferences playing each other in a home and
00:49homes and that's terrific i'm just hoping that that's the case ohio state and alabama are going
00:53to stay on but we already saw earlier this year you know indiana call off virginia uh was it
01:01georgia and florida state yeah i think that one got there's another one like that that got called off
01:06and and i just it's not good for the sport go we want to see those good non-conference matchups

01:18that i'm not really for i don't like it i don't think that it's going to help the sport grow
01:22i understand why tony petiti and everybody's pushing it for the ad's and for the coaches and
01:28everything else and that's really what it is because none of the fans have really asked for it
01:32but i'm hoping that it saves those big time non-conference matchups because without those
01:38like what are we going to be doing here for three weeks you know i understand we mentioned the mac
01:43and sunbelt some of the g6 schools like those are their opportunities to help fund their athletic
01:48department by getting a million two million dollars to go play a football game and so that's all well
01:53and good i get that but i'm just hoping that if we do this like it's kind of like making
01:59a deal with
01:59the devil bill we're saying if we do this we're going to save those save the big non-conference if

02:06go to 24 and we lose the big non-conference games i'm going to be really stinking upset well and

02:13certain teams are going to schedule differently like for ohio state and the schools that want to
02:17step out and play those mega matchups great now there will be one thing i think will happen as a
02:22result when with those middle tier power four schools you know the i'm going to pick on vanderbilt
02:27for a second for example like they may schedule soft justice so they have a better chance to get
02:33to nine or ten wins that's not going to end if if it happens and to vanderbilt's credit last year

02:38not picking on them or clark lee they won 10 games last year they they went through their sec games
02:43but um their non-conference schedule wasn't strong and i think sometimes you have to do that by
02:48necessity if you're at a program like that uh lift it or leave it we haven't talked about clemson
02:56much and rightfully so because they haven't been all that relevant outside of their nine draft picks
03:00this year clemson has a win total of seven and a half if they don't win nine games and make

03:08the acc championship this year you can consider their run as like a blue bloodish program maybe
03:16they don't have the history but they were at the creme de la creme my man jacob hester called them
03:19the benefit of the doubt club where you just believed every year they would be good if they
03:24don't win at least nine this year we're probably going to have to take away their card for the benefit
03:30of the doubt club yeah i would have to ask hester for permission but i think we can at that

03:35it would be it would feel a little bit like the dip that florida state took toward the end of
03:41the
03:41bowden era and i remember that where they you know they were top five team for like 20 years
03:47consecutively always in the national championship hunt but towards the end there was a dip and that's
03:52where i feel like we're at with them now in the acc could get they get back to nine or
03:56ten wins
03:57fairly easily yes but that week one matchup once again against lsu lane kiffin's debut and uh
04:05ed orgeron on the sideline by the way they just hired him he's back um like we need more of
04:10we
04:11definitely need more of his voice in the sport and uh if clemson goes down there and gets throttled
04:16or beat then those same questions come back up but i'm gonna say so i guess i said say lift

04:23if clemson goes eight and four or seven and five there's going to be questions about rather dabo
