00:00It feels like power when I'm wearing makeup.
00:03I think a lot of people have a misconception
00:05that makeup is meant to hide our insecurities
00:08and for me, that's not what it's about.
00:11I wear it full coverage, full glam, full confidence,
00:16full forward, I guess.
00:18Being a boy in makeup used to be such a taboo thing.
00:22Even having that thought would be a no-no.
00:24And now it's something that's celebrated.
00:32Beautycon is like a dream of mine.
00:34Today is the day.
00:36The day.
00:38It's like a party of a bunch of beauty influencers
00:41and brands celebrating our love for makeup.
00:44And so to me, it really is just a dream come true
00:48to be able to go, especially in L.A.
00:52Have a good trip.
00:56Ooh!
00:57See y'all later.
01:00I love my family.
01:01I think they're just the best.
01:02I came out when I was in seventh grade
01:05and they completely accepted me, 100%.
01:09I was just doing a pride video,
01:12a little colorful makeup tutorial,
01:14and I was finishing up on my eyeshadow
01:16and my dad kind of like popped his head into my room
01:20and he saw my look and he was like,
01:22That looks so freaking awesome.
01:25I was like,
01:26Thank you!
01:27Damn!
01:28Ha!
01:28Everyone was living for the video,
01:31like loved my dad.
01:33It was like an example for how parents should support their kids.
01:38Before I posted that video,
01:40I had 800 followers on Instagram
01:42and now I have almost 30,000.
01:45Ooh, mama, it is hot today at Phoenix Sky Harbor.
01:50Mom's about to say goodbye.
01:51I will see you later.
01:53Bye.
01:54So I really am thankful that I have that support system at home
01:57when sometimes I go out and I don't have the best experience outside of my house.
02:03Okay.
02:04Yes!
02:05Hope I don't die.
02:07Coming from a small town,
02:08it's just hard because I'm a big personality.
02:12It was hard to not feel trapped at times.
02:15Seeing online all these amazing things going on in LA, in New York.
02:20The internet is like everything and more.
02:24I don't ever feel extra on the internet.
02:27I don't ever feel like I'm being too much on the internet
02:29or I need to like reel it back in.
02:31It almost feels like I have like a little world in my pocket,
02:34like in my phone.
02:35I can meet all these amazing people
02:37that I would never have had the opportunity of even seeing or talking to in real life.
02:45Makeup is just not something that I would put on every day.
02:49For me, makeup is really special because it gives me that boost of confidence,
02:55a really defined brow,
02:57carved out and cut,
02:59super sharp,
03:00a full beat and like heels.
03:03You can change a person entirely in the way that you use makeup.
03:09You feel like nothing can stand in your way.
03:12And I think too, for people that always felt like
03:17they were being put down and they didn't feel comfortable in their own shoes,
03:20which for a lot of the LGBTQ community, that is like a thing.
03:26Having makeup as sort of like a tool and like a weapon, it feels like power to me.
03:32There's nothing else in my life that feels the same way as putting on makeup does feel for me.
03:38I have these tight pants, my little crop top I'm going to be wearing,
03:43my daddy hat, which is so funny because I'm not like typical daddy material.
03:48And then my little Nike shoes, I'm going to look so sporty.
03:51I'm ready to just strut in.
04:02Every single person that I've talked to when I've told them I'm going to Beautycon
04:06has just said, of course you are, you know, that's where you belong.
04:10These people who are just exuding this confidence and slapping on this gorgeous makeup,
04:16like that is the type of energy that I want to be surrounded by all the time.
04:21It's like I finally found my home.
04:29You are beautiful.
04:31Awesome.
04:32Thank you so much.
04:35Your browser is fucking crazy.
04:39I think it's a place to say,
04:42hey, this support is real.
04:43Like we can sit here commenting all day.
04:46Love you so much.
04:47You're amazing.
04:49But at the end of the day, we really do care about each other.
04:53Patrick is right over there.
04:58Oh my God.
05:00This line is probably so long.
05:02I don't even know where it starts.
05:03So we're in line at MAC.
05:05I think being a boy in beauty is like a revolutionary thing.
05:10It's exciting and it's new.
05:15From a business standpoint,
05:18if you market your products to everybody,
05:21you're going to make bank.
05:22Like makeup being inclusive is important because
05:25everyone wants to feel beautiful in their own way.
05:29So Beautycon is like if Fabulous were a person,
05:35they like puked in the LA convention center.
05:38Hopefully I'm back again next year.
05:45Boys in beauty is kind of like a revolution.
05:48A fight for inclusivity.
05:53So to be able to go on Instagram and see a boy like with full lashes, liner,
06:00like eye shadow, everything.
06:04I think that's really powerful.
06:06All right.
06:09We'll see you next time.
