00:00I actually remember being seven years old.
00:01I saw a magazine that said, like, look good naked,
00:03and I was like, what does that mean?
00:04I am Kaylee Melissa.
00:06I grew up in the South.
00:07I am the oldest of five children.
00:08I didn't actually have anybody to teach me a lot about beauty.
00:11I used to have a unibrow until I learned how to tweeze.
00:14The trend was, like, small eyebrows.
00:16And now it's bigger eyebrows, and I love it.
00:18I think that they kind of, like, frame my face.
00:21I think growing up, for a while,
00:23I didn't think about whether I was beautiful or not.
00:25And then, like, all of a sudden, in high school,
00:27I started thinking about it,
00:28and I was completely convinced that I was not beautiful.
00:31I would do my makeup not because I thought it was fun,
00:34but because I thought that I wasn't enough without it.
00:37I came to this point where, like,
00:39I was suffering from major depression.
00:40I had an eating disorder.
00:42I was obsessed with how I looked,
00:44and I was convinced that nobody could love me
00:46or want to be around me if I didn't look a certain way.
00:50And in retrospect, that's so messed up.
00:54And I kept going farther and farther down the spiral,
00:56and finally, one day, I was like,
00:57why am I going through this?
00:59Why am I doing this to myself?
01:00And I realized it was because my sense of value
01:03was coming from the way that I looked.
01:05And I was like, that's stupid.
01:07I'm not going to do that anymore.
01:11Having a healthy body doesn't mean that you look like
01:12a Victoria's Secret model.
01:13It just means that you are you.
01:15And I think I've come to the point now
01:17where I realize, like, that is beautiful in and of itself,
01:19and that's totally okay and totally normal.
01:22If I could tell my younger self one thing,
01:24it would be that your value is intrinsic to you.
01:27It's not something that the way you look will ever give to you,
01:30and it's not something that the way you look
01:31will ever take away from you.
01:32Your value is who you are,
01:34and you don't need to validate that with anything else.
01:38On the arse of the other side watching,
01:38let me ask yourself,
01:38let me ask you to do an outfit.
01:38Let me ask you,
01:38Всем announcement is also an order.
01:38Once you ask me real sad.
01:38and take advantage of all the separation
01:38I'm in also a storage,
01:39So thats can less helpful.
