00:00Sean, I need your help.
00:01Hi, Beatrice. Tell me, what can I do you for?
00:05Well, I need something fresh, something new with my hair.
00:09Any way to rev up these blonde locks?
00:11Oh, totally, totally. I have this beautiful new service.
00:15It's gonna give you beautiful, shiny, gorgeous hair.
00:18You know what that is?
00:20Tell me.
00:21Nutella hair dye.
00:23Ooh.
00:24Yes. Let's go get you shampooed.
00:26Okay.
00:28All right, we're back.
00:30Let me slip into something a little bit more comfortable.
00:35Much better.
00:37I'm ready.
00:38I hope you are.
00:39So, I've heard this trend is coming out of Dubai, Sean,
00:43but you're gonna have to break it down for me.
00:45How does it actually work?
00:46Basically, the two main ingredients in Nutella, palm oil and cocoa powder
00:51are your basic two chemical ingredients that are gonna help this work.
00:55The palm oil is gonna help the color sit and the cocoa is basically the pigment,
01:01almost like eye shadow.
01:03It only really works on lighter colors of hair.
01:07Blondes, if you have highlights, it's basically a toner.
01:11You don't need all this, right? Like, I can have my own?
01:14You can have your own. Definitely save one for me, though.
01:16It's crepe season.
01:17First step, I'm sectioning out your hair just to make it even and clean and professional.
01:25It's kind of like you would do it with normal hair dye.
01:27I mean, you're doing the same processes.
01:29This is a very run-of-the-mill, normal type of hair color.
01:34Do you always do hair color with a hair net on?
01:36Yes. Can you get me some of that, please?
01:39Let's just get in there.
01:42That's all I need.
01:43Can I lick the spoon?
01:45You can lick the brush.
01:46So, is this something you could do at home?
01:49Yeah, technically you could.
01:51Anybody who's got a pantry and a Costco card can really make this happen for them.
01:56But it's only really going to last a couple weeks, probably two at best.
02:01Oh, really?
02:01It also depends on how dirty you are and how much you wash your hair,
02:04because this will definitely rinse out if you're a frequent washer,
02:08which I highly don't suggest.
02:11Keep those natural oils in there.
02:13Keep those Nutella oils in there.
02:15Is there anything dangerous about this?
02:17Maybe a sugar overload.
02:19I mean...
02:20Yeah, I certainly understand that the eating part of this whole process is not healthy.
02:24I get that.
02:25But I'm going to be eating it the whole time.
02:27It's the addiction to sugar, that's all it is.
02:30It's okay, I'm just addicted.
02:31You're addicted to glamour.
03:11So, about 20 minutes has passed right now, and normal processing time for the
03:16minutes.
03:17We're going to leave her under heat for about 20 extra minutes just to make sure that we
03:21have an even tone and saturation within this milky low light that we're giving her.
03:27It just feels like my hair is one piece of clay.
03:32One thick hair.
03:34And now we're just going to get real.
03:40That you're just applying with the hand.
03:43This is an ancient French technique called balayage.
03:48Alright.
03:49We're done.
03:50We've completely coated her hair in Nutella, and now we process.
03:57I'm ready.
04:00Do you mind if I take a quick nap?
04:01I'm crashing from all the sugar.
04:03Sure.
04:04Go for it.
04:06Perfect.
04:07You're going to sit underneath the hood dryer for about 15, 20 minutes and let that
04:11really bank in.
04:14You good?
04:15Thumbs up?
04:17Success.
04:24Did someone say toast?
04:29Nutella sandwiches, here we come.
04:31While you process, have a nutritional treat.
04:36More Nutella.
04:38Yes.
04:40Yum.
04:43Yum.
05:03It's getting hot in here to take off all your clothes.
05:08I am getting so hot, I'm going to take my clothes off.
05:12Ding.
05:1420 minutes later, we're baked.
05:17Hell yeah.
05:17Done.
05:18Alright.
05:19Let's wash you out.
05:21Okay.
05:22Come on.
05:36You ready?
05:37I'm going to look.
05:39I think you should.
05:44Okay.
05:45Honestly, I don't see that much of a difference.
05:47True.
05:48It's more just a neutralizer.
05:50It's not meant to totally change it, but you see it just toned down.
05:56It's a bit cleaner.
05:57A little bit more shinier.
05:58Yeah.
05:58I mean, I pictured having brown hair.
06:00A brunette, right?
06:01Yeah.
06:02I'm kind of relieved.
06:03True.
06:04Me too.
06:05Well, all in all, fun experience.
06:08Exactly.
06:09Different experience.
06:10But I would say, not exactly worth the effort for the results.
06:16Might as well go with brown hair dye.
06:19So true.
06:20But nice job.
06:21Don't try this at home.
06:22No.
06:22Not worth it.
06:23Not worth it.
06:23Yeah.
06:24You
