00:21Traffic changes to facilitate the opening of the new terminal of the ANR Robinson International Airport, which we are told
00:30will take place sometime in early August.
00:33As Tobago prepares for the opening of the East Terminal, temporary traffic arrangements are now in place along the Storby
00:42Local Road with no parking, no entry signs installed, and a roundabout leading to the airport via the Division of
00:50Public Infrastructure and Transportation.
00:52Tobagonians and visitors alike are having their say on the changes.
00:58Yesterday I passed in the street here and I could have come up in it. When I was coming down,
01:02I realized that only one line of traffic was coming and it was blowing me.
01:07But everybody seemed to be confused because a couple of days ago I was watching some of those painted signs
01:14and I said, but what does this mean?
01:16Because it only looked like a one-way. They need to put either a police on a bike there, a
01:21bike there, to show people what to do.
01:24How do you feel about these new traffic changes?
01:29It could be good and it could be bad. One way it helps the villagers, it helps some people, in
01:36another way it doesn't help anyone.
01:37What does it help?
01:38Because of the different driving, they have to make, just drop off people, to take up people. Some of them
01:45don't know the angle of the roads are now.
01:47Well, we have changes when you're living in a place where you have development, you will always have changes. And
01:55we just have tried to adjust. So it might be a little difficult at first, but eventually we'll get to
02:01adjust.

02:03Very much surprised.
02:04Local businessman Kyle Black told the TV6 News he has already started to lose business due to the traffic changes.
02:12Mr. Black said he was not informed beforehand of the traffic changes and areas where customers previously stopped to purchase
02:20from his Gaskin Bay Mini Mart.
02:22No parking and no entry signs are now erected. Delivery trucks to his business would now have a different approach.
02:30Well, business dropped, but not rapidly, but it dropped because it had no parking, as you could see. They didn't
02:40have a meeting with nobody in the back or anything like that to realize what's going on. We just come
02:49and see. Painters come, start to paint and whatever. We can't fight the government, so you just have to go
02:55with the flow.
02:55Works in the area continue to be carried out by the Division of Public Infrastructure and Transportation in light of
03:03the over $1 billion project.
