Transcript
00:00The USA Cup included 13 participating countries. In that, over 1,000 teams took part.
00:07Out of TNT, Premier Sports Club featured three teams including an under-10, under-12 and
00:12an under-16 team. A total of 50-plus players travelled. The under-10s and under-16s were
00:19the eventual first place winners in their categories, marking a historical accomplishment.
00:25This was the winning save from the under-16 goalkeeper, Zayden Addo, that sparked wild celebrations.
00:32Well, simply put it, it's the best feeling ever to travel so far, to come up to such a
00:38prestigious tournament and represent Trinidad and Tobago, represent Premier, represent our
00:45families, our friends, those who believed in us. And most of all, it worked very hard to
00:49come out on top. You know, it's a great feeling, it's a humbling feeling, it's an emotional
00:55feeling. And you know that when the guys scored and we saved the last penalty kick, I couldn't
01:02do anything else but shed some tears and joys. I'm blessed to be surrounded by some
01:06tremendous athletes who put their bodies through training after training. I think that's one
01:13of the keys to our success. The athletes that represented today, the footballers, the players,
01:18they would have been in preparation throughout, you know, four or five times a week.
01:23The under-12s were knocked out in the quarter-finals on penalty kicks. Pinpoint goalkeeping played
01:29a decisive role in the finals with Xavier Renwick living up to the expectations of his father,
01:34Randall Wenwick, who took some of the footage. The finishing of Zane Seateram worked well
01:39in tandem with a strong defense.
01:41Well, first of all, I'd just like to thank God, thank Trinidad, forgive me to stop with
01:45you to coach Uten. It was a long journey, a very hard one. Once at training, late days,
01:53I may have been reaching home, tired, but in all, it worked out for me and we are now the
01:5910th, your second finals. Nice to be a champion.
02:04Manager of the team, Jennifer Long, believes it's worthwhile to invest in players.
02:08Sometimes you see talent in children, in growing up with them kicking for the kicker zone,
02:13not knowing that one day the kicker becomes a great footballer. So when you see talent in children,
02:20you have to kind of have to rely on it.
02:22It's a great feeling to come out to an international competition and achieve the success that we achieve
02:27in this competition. I am very proud of the boys for the work that they put in day in day
02:33out
02:33before we came to the tournament. And I think we had the right preparation to come out here
02:37and get the job done.
02:39And that's how the story goes. Finders Keepers. Sergio Dufour, TV6 Sport.
