00:14it starts with the offense and defensive line.
00:17It's unfortunate.
00:19But as Grant picks up everything, his technique,
00:25and gets better at it, it almost seems like as his progression
00:29has gone, Zach Seeler's been able to become a little more free.
00:33The outside guys have been able to get a little more pressure
00:36in the secondary.
00:37So with that pressure up the middle, both with the run and the pass,
00:42they've been able to do more creative things on defense
00:45and not get ran over, right?
00:48So you can see the development of all these guys.
00:52When you look on the other side, Savayanaya, right,
00:56as he has progressed, more time to throw, less penetration in the run game,
01:04more success running the football.
01:06So all these things have played in.
01:08It's unfortunate that the team was in a place where you had to rely on two guys
01:15to not only play, but to play well for you to function.
01:20We kind of had to go through those growing pains with them.
01:25And that's unfortunate because how quick did we say Chris Greer drafted
01:29the worst left guard ever or this bust that we drafted in the first?
01:35It is taking time.
01:37That's it.
01:38And I knew this was going to happen.
01:40Yeah, they just weren't in a position for it to take time.
01:41Last year they were in a position with Patrick Paul to not play him
01:48and to let him kind of grow.
01:51They didn't have that luxury this year.
01:53And the whole team, like you think those are insignificant pieces,
01:57but as we've seen early on in the season, it's been huge.
02:03Yeah, I don't want to buy into the idea the Dolphins can go on a run
02:06because I just feel like I'm going to end up disappointed.
02:08But this is a good season, a good year to go on a run
02:13because everybody has questions about all the quarterbacks
02:16that are available anyway.
02:18A lot of injuries.
02:19Right.
02:19So there's really no.
02:22But his teams have, I mean, Mike McDaniel, by nature,
02:25his teams have been very streaky.
02:27Like it's either they go in the dumps or they go on a very hot run.
02:30I put that on him.
02:32I really do.
02:32And I've told you why.
02:33And I've said it over and over and over and over again.
02:36Like one of the things that you try to build in the offseason,
02:41in the preseason and whatever,
02:44is you try to build kind of an identity of what you're going to try and be.
02:50And once you build that identity, everything kind of adjusts from that.
02:58If you're going to be a power run team,
03:00then that also means you're going to be a good play action team.
03:03That means you're going to be, it's just kind of how it works.
03:06When you look at teams like Dallas,
03:09when you look at teams like Detroit,
03:13how play action oriented they are because they put it on the billboard.
03:21We're going to come out and we're going to try to just destroy you.
03:24So you go into that mindset.
03:26So play action pass makes them look crazy.
03:29Now you have a good passer and a guy that can make plays at quarterback,
03:33but it all starts from a certain place.
03:37When I watch this offense, what's their bread and butter?
03:40What do they do extremely well?
03:43Give it to Asia.
03:43Because every, well, but,
03:45but even that you still have to kind of be creative to get him in space.
03:50Now they've blocked extremely well the last couple of weeks, right?
03:56He's had a lot of, and he's taken it out.
03:58He's broken some tackles.
03:59I do feel like he's made a lot of chicken salad this year out of.
04:02Yeah.
04:03In, in some instances.
04:04Yeah.
04:05Um, but what I would like to see is four or five core plays.
04:11We all have four or five.
04:13We all have five run plays and five pass plays.
04:16Dude, you got it.
04:16You got some Turkey that just like popped out on it.
04:18You got to fix that.
04:19I'm sorry.
04:20I just couldn't, I couldn't,
04:21we, I couldn't let you have that for the whole segment.
04:23It was just going to be there and you were making great football points and I was going
04:27to let you keep going.
04:28But like, we all agree.
04:29Like that had to be addressed.
04:30Right.
04:32Always.
04:32Even though he's going to call you out for calling him out.
04:34No, I understand.
04:35I wanted the focus to be on the football.
04:38Cause you're footballing right now.
04:40The Turkey just popped out.
04:42And it's just like, I got to say something.
04:48I'm telling you with friends like you, I think I am a good friend.
04:52You know what?
04:53Isn't that a good, it's called looking out for you.
04:55Hold on.
04:56Dan, is that not a good, it's a good friend.
04:58Not somebody who tells you you have something on your face.
05:01I feel like you got to let them know.
05:02You have to let them know.
05:03You have to let them know.
05:05Like even strangers, I would be like, Hey.
05:08Yeah.
05:08I do the same thing.
05:09Like, let's say if a girl walks out of a bathroom and she has toilet paper on her,
05:12on her foot, on her shoes, dragon, I'm going to, I'm going to, I'm going to saw her.
05:17And look, and here's where, you know, people don't know what the hell they're talking about.
05:25What's that?
05:27Leroy is way too old school, linear.
05:29He doesn't understand new style of offenses.
05:32They're a mixed mash of running screen passes, deep routes, and RPOs.
05:36Leroy can't consume this info.
05:41He copes.
05:42Oh my God.
05:42I can't tell you how much of an idiot you are.
05:49Okay.
05:50Dude, like, they're like, really?
05:55Really?
05:56How those RPOs running for, for the dolphins or, or for any team, you got to have a base,
06:04man.
06:05You got to be able to do.
06:06There's one thing you can go to and do well.
06:09Every team that has success has it.
06:12Is either running, uh, pin and pulls, either off tackle, counters, everybody.
06:19Whenever you listen to people before game starts, they always talk about this team does this really
06:27well.
06:28Now, of all the things you said, tell me what the dolphins do really well, give me a three or four plays.
06:36They do really well.
06:38They've had success doing them, but then the coach changes the whole offense.
06:42They don't have a base.
06:43They don't have a base.
06:44They don't have a core.
06:45If I can go into any, every game with something I do well, then all the adjustments off of those plays will create more success and more confusion than anything that they're doing out there now.
07:00Do you think it's because like he had this whole thing last year where people got crazy with the two deep and the takeaway of the shots?
07:07Like he felt like he settled on that stuff.
07:09Do you feel like he is so worried about being figured out that he won't also?
07:13He's over coaching the situation.
07:15Yeah.
07:15So, so let me explain to you, you know what you need?
07:18If you have two deep, you need an excellent tight end.
07:22That's why when you look around the league teams that run the ball and have excellent tight end play can destroy cover two.
07:32So go look at what Indy's doing right now.
07:35They're trying so hard not to give up the deep play against Indy, the big play that now they're giving up 80 yard runs to the running back.
07:42Then when they creep up, you got linebackers one-on-one with your safety.
07:47If Mike McDaniel had a reliable tight end, this whole offense would look different because every place that he's been, he's had a tight end.
07:59And that tight end has been a pro bowler because that's what you need to exploit the middle of the field.
08:06So they try to do it with these little ants.
08:08They try to run the same routes crossing the field or whatever with the ants.
08:13But the problem is, is when you go too deep and then you go nickel, you got other ants chasing them.
08:21You don't have a linebacker trying to guard a tight end.
08:24And that's how you exploit that.
08:26If you want to exploit cover two, you get you a tight end.
08:29You have him run down the middle of the field.
08:32You got a linebacker covering him and you abuse them.
08:35And then when they try to bring guys up, then you got your wide receivers or you run the football.
08:40It's simple as that.
08:42That's not old school.
08:43That's not new school.
08:45That's just football.
08:46So he called, unless you know what the hell you talking about, please keep it to a minimum.
