00:17and remodeled into the new 602 yard par 5 14th inheriting the layup area bunkering and dramatic
00:23undulations of the old hole 10 fairway bunkers guard the tee shot seven on the left three on
00:28the right the old par 3 14th has gone completely it's now a member's practice area uh notes from
00:34padrick harrington the old 15th hole has been remodeled uh i don't think the players will be
00:38scared of the yardage but it's those 10 fairway bunkers which might scare them for the shorter
00:42hitters or the safety conscious players it's a three shot hole either way it's a birdie opportunity
00:47at a key point in the round no it's not a three shot hole is that wind dependent or are

01:02into this hole today oh okay downwind certainly one into the wind yeah yeah but but i mean so
01:11so i have this i have this circled in my book uh let's see if you can see it see

01:17says uh i can't 415 is what it says and that is to the bunkers uh off of the tee
01:27and which i can't
01:28even believe they even have a number there for us but i'm happy that they do but there were a
01:33lot of
01:33divots just short of that 415 number today uh multiple 400 yard drives it was straight downwind
01:39and balls that were landing at 315 were rolling close to 80 to 90 yards um and then from there
01:48they had about 185 to the front and they're only trying to land at about 165 170 that's how i
01:56end up
01:56with a night iron in your hand jeez louise i mean that's that is uh that's gettable i mean i
02:03guess
02:03to patty's point whether or not it's a two shot or three shot or that's the birdie or eagle you
02:08need
02:08to pick up coming down the stretch but you want to kind of get back in this thing or expand

02:12leads here's the challenge and i talked about this on live from i don't know if you you saw much
02:17of it
02:17but uh when the wind switches here from potentially on sunday which could be west northwest it's a
02:24three shot hole but it's been a easy get there into this week so when it gets in off the
02:30right what
02:31does that mean well the bunkers that you've been able to cover up the right side making the hole
02:35feel like it's a fairly easy drive all of a sudden bunkers are now all in play off of the
02:41t so i think
02:42you're going to see some guys struggle with that t shot um and if you do find the fairway then
02:46you
02:47have to figure out where do you lay it up like uh because the fairway slips left and right and
02:52kind
02:52of crowns in between the next set of bunkers it's not necessarily easy to find the next fairway on the
02:57layup so this 14th hole although it could you know yield some some birdies and some low scores early
03:03in the week when it plays down on thursday and friday as we get closer to the weekend on saturday
03:08and sunday which we expect the the wind to shift a little bit more north and westerly uh i think
03:15then
03:15you're going to start to see some players you know start to hit in that bunker off of the t
03:20uh down the
03:21left and then having to deal with the next set of bunkers and that's that's like classic like open
03:26championship links golf when you find bunkers off of the t on par fives you almost certainly
03:33always have a next set of bunkers that are in your way it's just when you think it's like oh
03:39i found
03:40like an okay situation like i'm on a bit of an up so if i can get it out of
03:43this and then you're like
03:44wait why do i have to aim 30 yards right because i can't go in that bunker and that's that
03:49and they're
03:49always perfectly placed to be in that like nine iron eight iron range of the way up uh so it's
03:55uh you can you could quickly step on your foot here if you misstep but it's one that you could
04:02get a
04:02a 90 yard advantage uh i talked about that run out like you could legitimately gain 90 yards on on
04:09a
04:09player on a drive if you just hit the fairway
