00:00The second surgery was the hardest part. It hurt, couldn't sleep at all. I just stayed up most of the
00:09nights on them.
00:11Pain.
00:12Pain. I tell you that.
00:14Today, still walking with the aid of a keen, this 12-year-old outgoing student of the Bethesda Government Primary
00:21School told TV6 News his favorite subject is mathematics.
00:26He also loves coding and playing chess.
00:28Tell us, why is mathematics one of your favorite subjects?
00:33Simply, it's pretty easy for me to understand maths. Math is the easiest thing I could understand.
00:39It's just about subtracting, minus, and so on. It has plenty of numbers in the world, but I find maths
00:47is the easiest subject to do for me.
00:50And then you like coding, and you created some video games.
00:54Yes, miss. I did. My mommy sent me up a coding class, and I made my own video game, and
01:01I got a certificate.
01:02Principal of the Bethesda Government Primary School, Dr. Sheila Waldron-Joseph said she prayed for Kijani as he sat the
01:12SEA exam,
01:13aided by his crutches on March 26th, and was overjoyed on graduation day for him to be awarded the Academic
01:20of Excellence Award in Mathematics
01:23and the Principal Award Spirit of the Conqueror.
01:27So on that graduation day, miss, the tears had to come because it was saying thank you God for bringing
01:34him through.
01:34Yes, he was also awarded the award, the Spirit of the Conqueror.
01:40That's an award that comes directly from me as Principal of Bethesda Primary School.
01:46He got that award. That award is for the child that would have endured and would have conquered a situation
01:53or situation during their tenure at the school.
01:55And there was no better person to receive that award than Kijani Morris, because truly he would have conquered, prevailed,
02:04and he overcome with God's help.
02:07He will be entering the Signal Hill Secondary School come September.
