00:00It's hard to imagine a version of Borderlands without the series' comic booky art style.
00:05If you try, you just end up picturing the movie, and no one wants that.
00:10But Take-Two head honcho Strauss Zelnick says that Borderlands' look wasn't always the plan.
00:16In fact, it was an expensive final hour gamble.
00:20We had very limited capital, and we were developing a game that was about to be released two months later,
00:27recalled Zelnick.
00:28The head of the division came into my office and said,
00:31Look, we just don't think this is good enough, and we think we screwed up.
00:36We want to remake the game.
00:38Zelnick says he did his homework and ended up approving the move.
00:42It added another year to the game's development and cost $50 million.
00:48No one else in the business would have done it, says Zelnick, but he doesn't regret a thing.
