00:00This weekend just perfectly encapsulated what kind of season it's been for the Mets.
00:04They sit 17 games under .500, and Tiki, as it stands right now, Lindor here to stay,
00:11but the Mets are disaster.
00:12You know, the reason we keep having to talk about the Mets is because of how bad they
00:17play individually every single game.
00:19It's one guy, and I'm not talking about every game, Francisco Lindor's bad every game,
00:24or Freddy Peralta's bad every game.
00:26I'm not talking about that.
00:27But individually, they take turns ruining opportunities to win baseball games.
00:32And it's been the M.O. from basically the beginning of the season till now.
00:37Yesterday, obviously, it was Francisco Lindor making an error, and we know what happens
00:41with this team in the ninth inning when they make errors.
00:44Devin Williams implodes.
00:45He can't get out of his own way.
00:47Ultimately, they blow a chance to avoid beating swept.
00:51They still would only beat maybe 17 games, 16 games below .500 if they hadn't lost yesterday.
00:56So it's neither here nor there.
00:58Their season is done, but it feels like you can't help but get pissed off, if you're a
01:04Mets fan, about the ineptitude.
01:06These are professional baseball players.
01:08These are guys that historically have been really good.
01:11Now, Juan Soto's having his regular season.
01:13He is what he is.
01:14But he's been sometimes a butcher in left field.
01:17Yeah, and injured for part of the year as well.
01:19And injured as well.
01:19Francisco Lindor, even though he hasn't won Golden Gloves, he's a Gold Glove type shortstop.
01:24And he's kicking the ball around on easy, routine double plays that end games.
01:29This is a frustrating season for Mets fans.
01:32And you can't help but talk about it because you're so annoyed by it still.
