It will be a classic summer evening for the 96th annual MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 14.
Transcript
00:00This year's Midsummer Classic will be played in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park.
00:04First pitch just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening.
00:08The last time this game was played in Philadelphia was back in 1996 at Veterans Stadium.
00:13Turned out that Mike Piazza won the MVP for that game.
00:16He was born just up the road in Norristown, PA.
00:19This is going to be a very warm weather pattern next week, especially hot in the Northern Plains.
00:24But some of that heat is going to begin to eek east Tuesday and Wednesday into the I-95,
00:29including in Philadelphia, PA.
00:31So after a little bit of a slightly cooler weekend, temperatures escalate.
00:34We're forecasting a sunny Tuesday, 90 for the high.
00:38For the first pitch, about 84 degrees.
00:40And this south-southwest breeze will be carrying the ball out to right center field.
00:45Could be advantaged to left-handed hitters especially.
00:49And we're going to stay warm, just a classic summer night.
00:51It is a new moon as well, so a star-lit sky for your drive home.
