Sports betting analyst Anita Marks shares her top picks for Thursday night along with the exclusive AccuWeather forecast.
Transcript
00:00Hi, Anita Marks, professional handicapper here for AccuWeather, getting you ready for opening night of the NFL season.
00:07Here's what AccuWeather is forecasting for kickoff on Thursday night in Philadelphia as the Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys.
00:15So how am I going to play the game based on these weather conditions?
00:19I love the Philadelphia Eagles. I'm going to lay the six and a half. Why? This is an Eagles team.
00:24Thursday night, they're going to be lowering the banners. They're going to be wearing their Super Bowl rings.
00:28And no better time to do it in front of their rivals, the Dallas Cowboys.
00:33So you know they're going to be coming in. They're going to be ready to rock and roll.
00:36Also, this is an Eagles team. They're returning the majority of their players from their championship game.
00:41So you know how explosive they are on offense and defense.
00:45A lot of people are expecting them to have the best defense in the NFL with Jalen Carter and Cooper Dejean.
00:51On the opposite side for the Dallas Cowboys, new head coach in Brian Schottenhammer.
00:56There's going to be some growing pains there. And now with the trade of their defensive leader,
01:01Micah Parsons, to the Packers, I think this game can get ugly real fast.
01:07Again, I'm going to lay the points. The ability of the Eagles, minus six and a half.
01:11I also like the over in the game. And the over is at 46 and a half.
01:16Why? This is an Eagles team. They averaged 27 points a game last season.
01:20As for the Dallas Cowboys, they averaged 20, but their offense only got better.
01:25They bring in George Pickens, wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers, now a part of that offense.
01:30This is going to be a barn burner. I see a lot of points being scored here.
01:33So I'm going to go over 46 and a half.
01:35My favorite prop bet of the night is going to be Jalen Hurts, quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles,
01:40any time touchdown. Why? Because all he does is score touchdowns.
01:44In fact, he scored two against the Dallas Cowboys on the ground when he played them back in November.
01:50And this is a Dallas Cowboys defense that all they do is give up rushing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks.
01:55In fact, they gave up rushing touchdowns to nine, count of nine, quarterbacks last season in the NFL.
02:01So again, my favorite prop bet, Jalen Hurts, any time touchdown.
02:05For Anita Marks and AccuWeather, enjoy the game.
