00:00I'll check it now with Rochelle for more in tonight's weather forecast.
00:03Thank you, Disha. Good evening, Trinidad and Tobago.
00:07I know today was mostly gloomy, but I hope it didn't damper your mood.
00:11So if it did, maybe this good news might help.
00:14Trinidad and Tobago wind gusts over the next three days
00:18are now expected to be weaker than originally forecast.
00:21However, a high wind alert still remains in effect until 2 p.m. on Thursday,
00:26with the strongest winds expected from Thursday evening through Friday night,
00:32mainly affecting Tobago and northern and eastern Trinidad.
00:36Remember that strong gusts are still possible in heavy showers or thunderstorms,
00:41but faster moving rainfall should reduce the risk of street and flash flooding into the weekend.
00:47Now let's see what we're getting tonight.
00:49Tonight's subtle conditions are expected,
00:51with cloudiness increasing after midnight, with showers likely.
00:55We have minimum temperatures at 24 degrees in Trinidad and 25 in Tobago.
01:01Now there's a chance for some thunderstorm activity as well.
01:05Now, not to make things gloomy again,
01:08but tomorrow is expected to look that way a bit.
01:11According to the Met Office, expect puffy cloudy, hazy and windy conditions with showers.
01:17Now there's a possibility of some afternoon heavy showers as well.
01:21So unless you want to get your hair wet, walk with those umbrellas.
01:26Daytime temperatures will reach up to 32 degrees in Trinidad and 31 in Tobago.
01:31Also expected tomorrow is a moderate concentration of Saharan dust.
01:37So tell Saharan not today and wear your face mask when you're heading out.
01:42And for our two favourite days of the week,
01:44Friday will be sunny, hazy and windy with afternoon showers likely.
01:49And our good, good Saturday will give us more cloudy periods, wind and haze,
01:55also accompanied by occasional showers.
01:57It's our sun times now in Trinidad.
01:59Sunrise is at 5.49 and 5.45 in Tobago.
02:03And sunset at 6.32 in Trinidad and 6.30 in Tobago.
02:07And for our seas, well, seas will be moderate with waves 2 metres to 2.5 metres in open waters
02:14and below 1 metre, occasionally choppy, in sheltered areas.
02:18It's now time for your Tide Times.
02:28While we're still under a hazardous wind alert until Thursday,
02:32here's a quick did you know.
02:34Did you know that strong winds over the sea can create dangerous marine conditions?
02:39Strong winds blowing over the sea transfer energy to the water,
02:43causing waves to grow taller and rougher.
02:46The longer and stronger the wind blows, the larger the waves become.
02:50These conditions can also create stronger currents,
02:54making it more difficult for boats to navigate
02:56and increasing the risk for swimmers and fishers.
03:00That's why marines and beachgoers are advised to exercise extra caution
03:04or avoid going out when strong wind alerts are in effect.
03:09Well, now you know.
03:10And that's all for weather tonight.
03:13Sachin, no woke up tonight.
03:14What else is making sports news?
03:17Also, happy birthday.
03:19Hey, thank you very much, Rochelle.
03:22And well, to making the sports news tonight,
03:25all is set for France's quarter-final clash with Morocco.
