00:14In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. The Lord be with
00:19you
00:19and with your spirit. Good morning dear brothers and sisters and welcome to this celebration of
00:25the Holy Eucharist wherever you may be. Let's place our intentions in the hands of the good Lord as
00:32we now join ourselves to him in this offering of the holy sacrifice of the mass. Today is also the
00:38memorial of Saint Peter Torot, martyr, newly canonized saint from Papua New Guinea and so we
00:45rejoice in the gift of one more saint here in our region, a fitting model for us witnessing to the
00:52faith. Brothers and sisters let us acknowledge our sins and so prepare ourselves to celebrate
00:58the sacred mysteries. You were sent to heal the contrite of heart, Lord have mercy. You came to
01:09call sinners, Christ have mercy. You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us,
01:17Lord have mercy. May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting
01:25life. Amen. Let us pray. O God who in the abasement of your Son have raised up a fallen world,
01:36fill your faithful with holy joy. For in those you have rescued from slavery to sin, you bestow eternal
01:44gladness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
01:51Spirit, God forever and ever. Amen. A reading from the prophet Hosea. Thus says the Lord, they have set up
02:03kings, but not with my consent. An appointed princess, but without my knowledge. Out of their own silver and
02:12gold they have made idols which are doomed to destruction. I spurn your calf, Samaria, my anger blazes
02:20against it. How long will it be before they purge themselves of this, the sons of Israel? A workman made
02:28the
02:28thing. This cannot be God. Yes, the calf of Samaria shall go up in flames. They sow the wind, they
02:37will reap the
02:38whirlwind. Their wheat will yield no ear. The ear will yield no flower, and if it does, foreigners will
02:47swallow it. Ephraim has built altar after altar. They have only served him as occasion for sin. Were I to
02:57write out the thousand precepts of my law for him, they would be paid no more attention than those of
03:04a
03:04stranger? They love sacrificing. Right, let them sacrifice. They love meat. Right, let them eat it.
03:15The Lord takes no pleasure in these. He is now going to remember their iniquity and punish their sins.
03:24They will have to go back to Egypt. The Word of the Lord.
03:35The house of Israel trusts in the Lord. The house of Israel trusts in the Lord. Our God, he is
03:43in the
03:44heavens. He does whatever he wills. The idols of the heathen are silver and gold, the work of human
03:51hands. The house of Israel trusts in the Lord. They have mouths, but they cannot speak. They have eyes,
03:59but they cannot see. They have ears, but they cannot hear. They have nostrils, but they cannot
04:06smell. The house of Israel trusts in the Lord. With their hands they cannot feel. With their feet
04:14they cannot walk. Their makers will become like them. So will all who trust in them. The house of Israel
04:22trusts in the Lord. Sons of Israel trust in the Lord. He is their help and their shield.
04:28Sons of Aaron trust in the Lord. He is their help and their shield. The house of Israel trusts in
04:36the
04:36Lord.
04:40Alleluia, Alleluia. I am the good shepherd, says the Lord. I know my sheep, and mine know me.
04:47Alleluia. The Lord be with you. A reading from the Holy Gospel according to Matthew.
04:58A man was brought to Jesus, a dumb demoniac, and when the devil was cast out, the dumb man spoke,
05:07and the people were amazed. Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel, they said.
05:14But the Pharisees said, It is through the prince of devils that he casts out devils.
05:22Jesus made a tour through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming
05:29the good news of the kingdom, and curing all kinds of diseases and sickness. And when he saw the crowds,
05:37he felt sorry for them, because they were harassed and dejected, like sheep without a shepherd.
05:46Then he said to his disciples, The harvest is rich, but the laborers are few.
05:53So asked the Lord of the harvest to send laborers to his harvest.
06:13Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you.
06:19Fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life.
06:48Our spiritual drink.
07:09Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the Almighty Father.
07:21May this oblation dedicated to your name purify us, O Lord, and day by day bring our conduct closer to
07:29the life of heaven.
07:30Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
07:33The Lord be with you, and with your spirit. Lift up your hearts, we lift them up to the Lord.
07:39Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.
07:43It is truly right and just our duty and our salvation, always and everywhere, to give you thanks.
07:50Lord, Holy Father, Almighty and Eternal God, through Christ our Lord.
07:55His death we celebrate in love, His resurrection we confess with living faith, and His coming in glory we await
08:04with unwavering hope.
08:05And so, with all the angels and saints, we praise you as without end we acclaim.
08:12Holy, Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of your glory, Hosanna in the highest.
08:21Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest.
08:28You are indeed holy, O Lord, a fount of all holiness.
08:32Make holy, therefore, these gifts we pray, by sending down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall,
08:39so that they may become for us the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ.
08:46At the time he was betrayed and entered willingly into his passion, he took bread.
08:52And giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying,
08:57Take this, all of you, and eat of it, for this is my body, which will be given up for
09:06you.
09:36In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the chalice.
09:40And once more giving thanks, he gave it to his disciples, saying,
09:45Take this, all of you, and drink from it, for this is the chalice of my blood.
09:50The blood of the new and eternal covenant, which will be poured out for you and for many for the
09:57forgiveness of sins.
09:59Do this in memory of me.
10:26The mystery of faith.
10:28We proclaim your death, O Lord, and profess your resurrection until you come again.
10:35Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his death and resurrection,
10:39we offer you, Lord, the bread of life and the chalice of salvation,
10:43giving thanks that you have held us worthy to be in your presence and minister to you.
10:50Humbly we pray that, partaking of the body and blood of Christ,
10:55we may be gathered into one by the Holy Spirit.
10:58Remember, Lord, your church spread throughout the world,
11:02and bring her to the fullness of charity,
11:05together with Leo our Pope and Charles our Bishop and all the clergy.
11:10Remember also our brothers and sisters who have fallen asleep
11:14in the hope of the resurrection,
11:16and all who have died in your mercy.
11:19Welcome them into the light of your face.
11:22Have mercy on us all, we pray,
11:24that with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God,
11:27with Blessed Joseph her spouse,
11:29with the blessed apostles and all the saints,
11:31who have pleased you throughout the ages,
11:34we may merit to be co-heirs to eternal life,
11:37and may praise and glorify you through your Son, Jesus Christ.
11:42Through him and with him and in him, O God, Almighty Father,
11:47in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
11:49all glory and honor is yours forever and ever.
11:54Amen.
11:57At the Savior's command and formed by divine teaching,
12:00we dare to say,
12:03Our Father, who art in heaven,
12:05hallowed be thy name.
12:07Thy kingdom come.
12:09Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
12:12Give us this day our daily bread,
12:14and forgive us our trespasses,
12:17as we forgive those who trespass against us.
12:20And lead us not into temptation,
12:23but deliver us from evil.
12:25Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil.
12:28We will graciously grant peace in our days,
12:30that by the help of your mercy,
12:32we may be always free from sin,
12:35and safe from all distress,
12:37as we await the blessed hope
12:39and the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
12:46Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your apostles,
12:49Peace I leave you, my peace I give you,
12:51look not on our sins,
12:53but on the faith of your church,
12:55and graciously grant her peace and unity
12:57in accordance with your will,
12:59who live and reign forever and ever.
13:02Amen.
13:03The peace of the Lord be with you always.
13:06Let's offer each other the sign of peace.
13:08Peace be with you, wherever you may be.
13:19Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:23have mercy on us.
13:25Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:29have mercy on us.
13:30Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world,
13:35grant us peace.
13:36Peace be with you, wherever you may be.
13:59Behold the Lamb of God,
14:01behold him who takes away the sins of the world,
14:04blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb.
14:07Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
14:12but only say the word, and my soul shall be healed.
14:17My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most blessed sacrament.
14:22I love you above all things,
14:24and I desire to receive you into my soul.
14:27Since I cannot now receive you sacramentally,
14:31comely spiritually, into my heart,
14:33I embrace you as if you were already there,
14:36and unite myself wholly to you.
14:39Never permit me to be separated from you.
14:41Amen.
14:43Let us pray.
14:46Grant, we pray, O Lord,
14:48that having been replenished by such great gifts,
14:52we may gain the prize of salvation
14:54and never cease to praise you.
14:56Through Christ our Lord.
