00:00A Pakatan Harapan candidate has raised fresh questions
00:03over Barca Nacional's political dealings in Johor.
00:07Skudai candidate Jaye Kartiani urged BN to disclose
00:11whether it has already allocated appointed assemblyman posts to pass.
00:16She cited Johor BN Chief on Hafiz Ghazi's recent remarks
00:19that BN candidates who lose in the state polls
00:22will not be appointed as unelected assemblymen.
00:26Kartiani questioned whether this meant BN had already reached an understanding
00:31with other parties on filling the five available posts after the July 11 election.
00:37She noted that pass is not contesting in most constituencies,
00:41giving rise to speculation about a tacit agreement between BN and pass.
00:47Kartiani stressed that Johorians have the right to know
00:50if such a political arrangement exists between BN and pass behind closed doors.
00:55She said BN should clear the air and provide a transparent explanation
00:59to put the matter to rest.
01:01On June 30, On Hafiz called on all BN candidates
01:05to accept the election outcome without reservation.
01:08He said they will not secure appointments to the state assembly
01:11via the backdoor if they fail at the July 11 polls.
01:16Johor amended its constitution on May 7
01:19to allow the appointment of five unelected assemblymen,
01:22raising the total number of state representatives to 61.
