00:00Religious Affairs Minister Zulkifli Hassan has encouraged states to hold Friday prayers at shopping malls,

00:07following a positive response at several locations in the Federal Territories, according to Benama.

00:14He said the initiative was first introduced in Puchajaya and Kuala Lumpur

00:19through cooperation between the Federal Territory's Islamic Religious Department

00:23and the Federal Territory's Islamic Religious Council.

00:26Zulkifli said Friday prayers have already been held at IOI City Mall, Alamanda Shopping Centre, and Surya KLCC.

00:36He said discussions are now ongoing to expand the initiative to more shopping malls nationwide.

00:42Zulkifli said several mall operators and states have shown interest,

00:47especially in urban areas, although discussions are still at an early stage.

00:52He added that the government also plans to expand Friday prayer facilities

00:58to transport hubs such as terminals, airports, and highway rest stops

01:02to make it easier for Muslims to perform Friday prayers.
