00:00Hernán Hill's rescue after being trapped in La Guayra for eight days continues to give people hope that more survivors
00:07will be found.
00:08It is not easy, yet hundreds of volunteers continue to support the rescue experts in their work.
00:18Dawn is about to break over La Guayra. Hundreds of cars and motorcycles continue transporting.
00:24Suddenly, a surprising signal sounds. Everyone must be silent.
00:33Police officers and motorcyclists turn off their engines.
00:38What was once a routine of hope is becoming increasingly scarce.
00:42The last breaths of life seem to be slipping through the rubble, but still hundreds are trying to hold on
00:47to it.
00:49We were waiting for them to bring us the dogs. I was talking to my colleague who stayed with me.
00:57There was a positive moment, I can't say it's a real positive, but the concrete and rubble moved without us
01:03moving them.
01:03By default, I alerted to a positive sign. So, I asked even more insistently that they bring me my team.
01:15More than a week has passed. Is it possible to find anyone alive?
01:20Even at 13 days, there are still possibilities. We have reports and testimonies.
01:30For example, in Haiti in 2007 or 2017, a woman was rescued alive on day 13.
01:40With animals, it has even happened on day 19.
01:45We are going to stay here until we believe that life is no longer viable.
01:51But it's getting harder and harder. These meticulous and time-consuming tasks require specific guidance.
01:58And many volunteers work for hours on end. And yes, there are some.
02:05I really want to help. Recently, even before coming here, I saw a phrase that really resonated with me.
02:13If you don't live to serve, you don't serve to live.
02:18That really struck me. I like collaborating with what's happening in my country because, at the end of the day,
02:24we are all Venezuelans.
02:27Will you continue? Yes, as long as my body allows me to.
02:32Until the end, I will do everything I can with faith leading the way.
02:37Many people have been helped. There were many cases that were supposed to be impossible, yet they were possible.
02:43There were many places where they said it couldn't be done, but it was done.
02:46So, with more faith every time. With each passing day, my faith grows stronger.
02:51I have been here since day one, and hope is the last thing you lose.
02:56There, in Caravalleda, Lucas is...
02:59Lucas is...
02:59...
