03:43there are so many questions that come up.

03:48Why is he laughing if his child was unwell?
03:51All of these questions are doing the rounds.
03:53But even at such a time, the opposition is upping the pressure.
03:55You had the DNK staging protests across Tamil Nadu today demanding his resignation.
04:00So far, there's been no action against the minister.

04:10A two-year-old viral video has landed Tamil Nadu Human Resources Minister D. Sharath Kumar
04:17in the middle of a massive political controversy.
04:21The clip shows Sharath using a credit card to arrange a white powder into a line,
04:27triggering speculation on social media that the substance could be narcotics.
04:33The minister has strongly denied the allegations, calling the clip an old video.
04:38Sharath Kumar says the powder was medicine that he was preparing for his daughter.
04:44But ironically, the daughter was nowhere seen in the video.
04:49The video was posted with the caption Thug Life,
04:52reportedly in the context of a Chennai Super Kings match.

05:33But the explanation has failed to quell the controversy.
05:37The opposition has now mounted a political attack.
05:41DMK has demanded Sharath Kumar's resignation,
05:44while the BJP says the minister should be jailed if any offense is established.

05:53We suspect that it is cocaine or something like that.

07:44and so I was crushing the medicine for her.
07:46If that is the case, there are so many questions that come up.

08:47Second, there is no logic in putting out a caption called thug life

08:55is not a thug life moment by any stretch of imagination.

09:10This is not certainly one of those methods
09:12by which a tablet is being powdered
09:14and then garnered by a debit card

09:22that he should, you know, undergo a test now.
09:25A test now will establish nothing.
09:27This is supposed to be a two-year-old incident.

09:31unless he has consumed any narcotic substances
09:34in the last few weeks,
09:36a test right now will throw up nothing.
09:39In fact, it will only help to exonerate him
09:41if he has not consumed any substances
09:43in the last few weeks.
09:44Now, so what's the solution then?
