03:35The Department of Justice now investigating Major League Baseball for potential religious
03:39discrimination.
03:41The league recently warned several San Francisco Giants players against expressing their Christian
03:46faith after they wrote Bible verses on their Pride Night caps.
03:50In a letter to Commissioner Rob Manfred, the Department's Civil Rights Division writes,
03:54quote, the Trump administration is committed to combating religious discrimination.
03:58I have referred this matter to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for further investigation.

07:15The latest development, Congresswoman, is that the Major League Baseball commissioner sent a letter to Senator Hawley yesterday saying that
07:27this is a misunderstanding
07:28and that the Giants should not have required the players in question to wear those pride hats.
07:36And so I think those players were under the impression they were required to wear them,
07:39and that's why they put their own messages on them to counteract the gay pride message.
07:44And so better communication would be good, but I'm going to let the EEOC, you know, run with the ball

07:51and do whatever investigation they deem appropriate.
07:54But if this were to happen in a private employer setting, a public employer setting, rather,
07:58I would open an investigation because on its face it appears to be discriminatory.

11:14messaging uniforms.
11:16And furthermore, no one will be discriminated against on the basis of their religious faith.

11:21Well, the fact that we had to go through all of this, I had to threaten to bring him in
11:24front of the Senate, put him under oath.
11:26He's being investigated.
11:27The league is for other things.
11:28All of that is ridiculous.
11:29It was stupid on the part of major league baseball to do any of this, but I'm glad they admitted
11:34they were wrong.
11:35Let's get back to God and country and playing some baseball and stop all this woke garbage.
