00:26Dhabi what does this potential investment really tell us about Dubai Holdings overall strategy
00:36hi thanks for having me on yes I think it's a really interesting story firstly because it's quite rare
00:43to know what's going on inside Dubai Holding which is kind of run and owned by the ruler of Dubai
00:51but
00:51also it kind of tells you the strategy of the the company so they're looking at taking a stake in
00:59the private equity back data center H scale it shows you that they're looking to grow its portfolio
01:07into into Europe but typically Dubai Holding has always been quite focused on luxury assets in
01:14Europe so to start looking at data centers I think it's quite an interesting expansion of Dubai Holding
01:24and Alex we've reported dozens of times about the AI push that those countries were in have been taking
01:31over the past couple of years or so we've seen Gulf investors deployed billions into AI so what does
01:37the investment tell us about the overall Gulf appetite for AI related infrastructure
01:47yeah so the United Arab Emirates is definitely a leader in terms of investing into artificial intelligence
01:54for sure we wrote a story only recently about MGX the Abu Dhabi AI investor that raised raised billions of
02:03dollars
02:04but I think it's also quite interesting because that investment into AI has always come predominantly from Abu Dhabi
02:11and now we're starting to see Dubai get in on those AI investments so I think it's a really interesting
02:17story and development for the UAE
