01:33Tell us where we will go?
01:39Oh, hi there. Nice to see you.
01:43So, what's the story in Bala Mori?
01:47Well, today in Bala Mori, it's a windy day.
01:55And everyone here is busy going to work and school.
02:03So, I wonder what adventures we'll get up to today.
02:06Just listen to that wind.
02:10Oh, yes.
02:12Look, it's a night light.
02:14One of the children brought it in to show me.
02:16I used to have one of these on in my bedroom when I was little.
02:20It made me feel all cosy.
02:23But it wasn't a moon shape like this one.
02:25Mind you, I wouldn't have needed it last night
02:27because the real moon was really big and bright.
02:31Just like the moon the cow jumped over in Hay Diddle Diddle.
02:36Ah, there's the school bus.
02:38I wonder who'll be coming to the Bala Mori nursery today.
02:41Hello, Nathan.
02:42Morning, Craig.
02:44Here's Jada.
02:45Hello, Josh.
02:46It's Tommy.
02:47Here's Darcy.
02:48And who else, I wonder?
02:51And you, join in the fun too.
02:57Everybody, everyone,
02:59come inside and join the fun.
03:02Painting, splodging, splashing,
03:05dancing,
03:06robbing,
03:07building,
03:08make your favourite thing.
03:10Everybody,
03:11everyone,
03:13come inside and join the fun.
03:16He diddle diddle,
03:18the cat and the fiddle.
03:21The cow jumped over the moon.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Yeah.
03:26The little dog laughed to see such fun.
03:32And the...
03:33Last death, one of the victims.
03:36Well done, everyone.
03:37That was brilliant.
03:39Oh, did you hear that?
03:41Sounds like we have a visitor.
03:44I wonder who it can be.
03:45I'll just go and see.
03:50Hello, Josie.
03:52Hi, Miss Hooley.
03:52Can I come in for a sec?
03:53Of course.
03:55Hi, everyone.
03:56Hello, Josie.
03:59What have you been doing?
04:00I've been doing nursery rhymes.
04:02Oh, I love nursery rhymes.
04:03They're not scary.
04:05Are you all right, Josie?
04:06Sort of.
04:07Oh, come on through.
04:08You look a little flushed.
04:12Can you tell me your nursery rhyme?
04:14Okay.
04:15Are you ready?
04:16He diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle.
04:19The cow jumped over the moon.
04:21Oh, Josie.
04:23You seem a bit jumpy today.
04:25I know.
04:25A nice cup of tea will help calm you down.
04:29Milk and sugar?
04:31Just milk, thanks.
04:32Oh.
04:34It's just that I didn't get much sleep last night.
04:37Oh!
04:38Oh.
04:41Now you sit there and tell me all about it.
04:44So what made you so jumpy in the night?
04:46Well, all night I heard bangs and crashes coming from the roof.
04:49And then I heard a loud, scary flapping noise coming from outside the living room window.
04:53Oh, no.
04:54Then what did you do?
04:55I went to see what it was.
04:57And then outside I saw...
04:58Oh.
04:59What?
05:00A monster.
05:01With arms stretched out like this.
05:03It seemed to fill up the whole room.
05:05And then it was getting bigger and bigger and smaller.
05:08And then bigger again.
05:09And...
05:09Oh.
05:10That must have been awful.
05:12What did you do next?
05:13I ran back to bed and hid under the covers.
05:16And in the morning it was gone.
05:18Ah.
05:19Well, that was lucky.
05:20Well, what if it comes back?
05:21Oh, no one's going to believe I saw a monster.
05:23I think she'll go and report it to PC Plum.
05:26That's a good idea.
05:27I'll go and see PC Plum.
05:28Bye.
05:29Bye.
05:32So, which colour house do you think Josie will visit first today?
05:42Can you see all the different coloured houses sitting by the sea?
05:47Well, this part of the story in Balamori art wishes the house for me.
05:53Is it red?
05:55Is it white?
05:56Which coloured house do you think is right?
05:59Pink, yellow, green, orange or blue?
06:02Which coloured house are we going to?
06:11Which coloured house are we going to?
06:13Tell me what do you think?
06:16Which coloured house are we going to?
06:19Tell me what do you think?
06:22It's the white house!
06:25Yes, it's the white house where PC Plum lives.
06:38Is everything all right Josie?
06:40I heard it outside.
06:42Crush, crush, it's the monster.
06:45Monster?
06:46Oh, well, let's take a look then.
06:49Oh, come on.
06:56Aha!
06:58It's not a monster.
06:59It's just the wind blowing off this dust bin lid.
07:02Oh.
07:03You've got to expect to hear all sorts of bangs and crashes on a windy day like today.
07:09Come on Josie.
07:12Now, I just need to enter this into the lost and found book.
07:16Oh, here it is.
07:18Now.
07:19Ah.
07:20One dust bin lid.
07:23Round.
07:25And pongy.
07:27Hmm.
07:28There we are.
07:29Now then Josie, what's all this about a monster?
07:31Well, I woke up because I had lots of banging and crashing noises in the night.
07:35Bang!
07:36Bang!
07:37Yes, yes!
07:38And?
07:39Then I heard a loud flapping noise outside the window.
07:42Flap!
07:43Flap!
07:43So I went to have a look and there it was.
07:46The huge monster with arms stretched out like this.
07:51Woooooo!
07:53I see.
07:54It filled up the whole room and it kept swirling all around me.
07:58It got bigger and bigger and smaller and smaller.
08:02I thought the monster was coming to gobble me up.
08:04So I hid under the covers and I didn't come out until morning.
08:08Then it was gone.
08:09Oh.
08:10Good.
08:11Well, you've nothing to worry about then.
08:13Well, what if it comes back?
08:15Oh.
08:16Yes.
08:17Well, I think we need to visit the scene of this monstrous crime.
08:23Come on.
08:34Oh.
08:36Oh.
08:37After you.
08:37Oh.
08:38Right.
08:49Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:51Oh.
08:53Oh.
08:58Oh.
08:59Oh.
08:59Oh.
09:03Oh.
09:04Oh.
09:05Oh.
09:07Oh.
09:08Oh.
09:12Oh.
09:13Oh dear.
09:14What a mess. The monster's in it.
09:16Well, I...
09:17Look!
09:20All my washing.
09:23What washing?
09:25Exactly. It's all gone.
09:27The monster's eating my washing.
09:29It's very odd.
09:36Aha. I think we need to investigate this further.
09:39Come on, Josie.
09:43Ah. I think I've solved the mystery.
09:46My washing line!
09:48There's your monster, Josie.
09:50It was just your tracksuit hanging on the washing line.
09:53What do you mean?
09:54Well, what happened was this.
09:56Last night it was very windy.
09:58And there was a big bright full moon.
10:00And a monster.
10:01Yes. And so...
10:03No, there wasn't any monster.
10:05Yes there was. I saw it.
10:07And what about my balcony? Mess everywhere?
10:10No, no, no. It was the wind that blew everything over in your balcony.
10:13And made the loud bangs and crashes you heard.
10:15But what about the flapping monster I saw through the window?
10:18That was just your tracksuit flapping in the wind.
10:20Oh, I get it!
10:22No, I don't.
10:24The monster I saw was enormous.
10:25It seemed to fill up the whole room.
10:27Oh, yes. But that was because of the moon.
10:29It was casting shadows of the tracksuit into your room.
10:32Shadows?
10:34But how come they kept getting bigger, and then smaller, and then swirling around, and then...
10:39Well, um...
10:41I don't think I'll be able to explain this properly.
10:44Oh, what am I going to do?
10:46Who in Balamori is clever enough to explain to Josie all about shadows?
10:51Hmm...
10:52Of course!
10:53Josie, you have to go and see Archie.
10:56Did I hear you say that you've got a confusion?
11:01Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:04Super Archie surfing through the solution.
11:08Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:11Archie can make most anything.
11:14I can solve your problems, so give me a ring now!
11:19Archie's inventions can help the nation.
11:22Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:26Yeah, I've got a thing called imagination.
11:30Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:33From crazy hats that help us sing,
11:36To pigs that fly with yogurt pot wings, yeah!
11:40Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:44Great inventions, groovy solutions!
11:48Do your cobs need to clog it?
11:53Oh...
11:55Has your sprocket sprung its screw?
12:02Oh...
12:03Do your widgets keep flip-flopping?
12:06Oh...
12:07The robot didn't, the robot didn't,
12:09With my inventions, I'll sort it out for you!
12:14I know what to do!
12:17Archie's such a clever chap!
12:19He knows a lot now!
12:20Great inventions, groovy solutions!
12:24I'm a scientific wonder!
12:26With a yogurt pot now!
12:28Great inventions, groovy solutions!
12:31Archie yeah!
12:37Archie, can you help me?
12:38Oh, Josie Jump, of course.
12:41So, what's the story in Balamori?
12:44Well, I was a bit scared in the night, so I went to tell Miss Hooley about it.
12:51But even Miss Hooley and her children made me jump.
12:54She calmed me down, and I told her about the monster I saw through my window.
12:59I was still worried, though, so Miss Hooley thought I should tell P.C. Plum all about it.
13:04So P.C. Plum came with me to investigate my house.
13:07My balcony was a mess, and my washing line was missing.
13:11I thought the monster had eaten it.
13:13But P.C. Plum found it and explained that the wind had blown everything over, including my washing line.
13:20He told me that the monster was really only the shadow of my tracksuit, as it flapped in the wind
13:25outside my window.
13:26Oh, no. Except...
13:33Except...
13:33Except the shadow seemed to fill up the room, and kept getting bigger and bigger and smaller.
13:39And jiggling about.
13:40Exactly. Can you explain that, Archie?
13:43I can do better than that, Josie. I can show you.
13:48I was just getting ready to make a shadow puppet show for Miss Hooley and the children.
13:52Could you help me get this over near the light?
13:54Oh, right.
14:01Now, in order to make a shadow, you need a light.
14:04Oh. Like the moon?
14:06Exactly. Last night, the moon was shining through your window to make your monster shadow.
14:11Now, the sun will shine through my window to make my shadow.
14:15Wow. Here goes.
14:19Wow. I can see your shadow.
14:22Now, when I go nearer the light, my shadow gets bigger, like this.
14:27I see.
14:28And when I go away from the light, the shadow gets smaller, like this.
14:34Big.
14:36Small.
14:37Big.
14:39Small.
14:40You see?
14:41Oh, thanks for explaining about shadows, Archie. I won't be scared anymore.
14:45Splendid.
14:46Then, would you like to help me with my shadow puppet show?
14:49Yes, please.
14:50Okay, then. To the nursery.
15:00Jump for dinner, Mr. Hat!
15:02Tim the cat was a sleepy, furry, happy cat who slept all day.
15:09But at night, when the moon lit up the sky, Tim became a wild, nervy, jumpy, scaredy cat.
15:16He hated the big, flapping, billowing bat.
15:19Meow, meow.
15:20Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.
15:23Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.
15:32He found the 50-fingered monster who poked and tickled him horrible.
15:36Meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.
15:41But things got really bad for Tim, the scaredy cat, when one night he saw a huge, pointy-eared monster,
15:49and when he turned this way, the pointy-eared creature turned this way
15:54and when he turned that way, the pointy-eared creature turned that way
15:58and when he tried to run away, the pointy-eared creature grew even bigger.
16:03Tim the Scaredy Cat suddenly felt very brave
16:06and moved towards the creature
16:09and the closer he got, the smaller the creature became
16:13until Tim was nose-to-nose with this little, pointy-eared creature
16:21and Tim realised that the monster was his own shadow.
16:25The big flapping bat was a tissue blowing in the wind.
16:33The hairy man was a moth
16:39and the 50-fingered monster
16:43was a twig from a pot plant.
16:56Archie's let me keep one of his shadow puppets.
16:59So, what was the story in Balamori?
17:03Well...
17:06It was very windy with a full moon last night.
17:09Josie came to see me and she was very jumpy.
17:12I calmed her down and she told me all about a scary monster
17:15she'd seen through her window during the night.
17:18I thought she should tell PC Plum all about it.
17:21Then he listened as Josie described the monster once more.
17:25He decided they should visit Josie's house to look for the monster.
17:30Her balcony was a mess and her washing line was missing.
17:34Josie thought the monster had eaten it.
17:36But PC Plum found the washing line outside in the street.
17:40The wind had blown it down.
17:42He explained to Josie that the monster was really only the shadow of her washing
17:46as it flapped in the wind outside her window.
17:50Josie went to see Archie and he told her all about shadows.
17:54Then Josie helped him to tell us a brilliant shadow puppet story.
18:03And that was the story in Balamori today.
18:07Maybe you could have a go at making shadows.
18:13And I'll see you soon.
18:16Bye!
18:22Bye!
18:30Balamori, Balamori
