03:57Hello, Josie!
03:57Hi, Miss Hooley!
03:58Hi, everyone!
03:59Hi, Josie!
04:04So, is everything ready for the surprise this afternoon?
04:08Yes!
04:09Everyone will be here in time, but I still can't decide which ballet to choose.
04:12What sort of ballet would the children enjoy?
04:14Well, is there a ballet where you all jump up and down and spin around a lot?
04:19The children love that type of thing.
04:20Well, yes, we can spin and jump in all the ballets. Anything else?
04:25Oh, yes, the children really love playing with the toys from the toy box.
04:29Could the ballet be about toys?
04:32Toys from a toy box?
04:35That's it!
04:37We can do a ballet about a fairy princess who has no friends to play with.
04:42Aw, poor wee fairy.
04:44Oh, no, no, Miss Hooney, because what happens next is that she flies into the nursery one night
04:49and she lands inside the children's toy box.
04:52Then, with the wave of her magic wand, she brings the toys to life so that they can dance with
04:58her.
04:58Aw, that sounds like a wonderful ballet, Josie.
05:01I'm sure the children would love that.
05:03So what's it going to be called?
05:05Called?
05:06How about the Balamori Fairy?
05:09The Balamori Fairy.
05:10Aw, that sounds perfect.
05:13Well, there's lots of work to be done before the ballet can begin.
05:16We need to build some scenery.
05:18Well, Spencer could help you with that.
05:20Great idea!
05:21I'll go and see him straight away.
05:23Bye, Miss Hooney.
05:24I'll catch you later.
05:25Woo!
05:26Bye, Josie.
05:28So, which coloured house do you think Josie will visit first today?
05:39Can you see all the different coloured houses sitting by the sea?
05:45Well, this part of the story in Balamori, ups, which is the house for me?
05:51Is it red?
05:53Is it white?
05:54Which coloured house do you think is right?
05:57Pink, yellow, green, orange or blue?
05:59Which coloured house are we going to?
06:03Pink house?
06:04White house?
06:05Red house or yellow?
06:08Green house?
06:10Orange or blue?
06:11Which coloured house are we going to?
06:20Which coloured house are we going to?
06:22Tell me, what do you think?
06:25Which coloured house are we going to?
06:28Tell me, what do you think?
06:31It's the orange house!
06:34Yes, it's the orange house, because that's where Spencer lives.
06:43There, that's it finished.
06:45One toy box.
06:48Hello, Spencer, are you home?
06:50Shh, that sounds like Josie.
06:53Let's give her a jumping jack surprise, shall we?
06:59Ha ha ha!
07:03Okay, come in, Josie.
07:05Hi, Spencer, it's only me.
07:07That's funny.
07:09I could have sworn I heard you.
07:10Hi, Josie!
07:11Spencer, you got me that time.
07:14Yeah, that was a lot of fun.
07:16So what can I do for you today?
07:17Well, I need you to help me make some scenery for a ballet
07:20that my dance class is putting on at the nursery today.
07:22No problemo.
07:24What type of scenery did you have in mind?
07:26Um, I'm not sure.
07:27Well, where's the ballet set?
07:29In a castle?
07:30At sea?
07:31In a wood?
07:31No, it's in a toy box.
07:33A nursery toy box.
07:35You mean, like that one?
07:36Oh, that's perfect.
07:38But it is a little too small for my dancers to dance in.
07:41Can you make me something bigger?
07:42Something so huge it would make my dancers look as small as toys.
07:46Sure.
07:47Oh, we can do that in no time.
07:48If I get some help.
07:49OK, let's get cracking.
07:50All right.
08:20OK, Josie.
08:20That's everything on board.
08:23OK, Spencer.
08:24Let's rock and roll.
08:28Let's go.
08:34Hi, Susie.
08:35Hi, Spencer.
08:36Hi, Susie.
08:37Hi, Josie.
08:57No, Spencer, wait.
08:58We can't carry all of that inside with the children there.
09:00They will see the scenery and that will spoil the surprise.
09:03But we've got to set it up somehow.
09:05Well, we'll just have to think of another way of putting the scenery up without the children
09:08seeing us.
09:10Well, only a magician can make the scenery in us invisible.
09:13And I don't think there's a magician on Balamori who could do a trick like that.
09:16Well, who's good at conjuring things up, making the impossible possible, making something out
09:21of nothing?
09:22Who's like a magician?
09:25Of course.
09:26Archie the inventor.
09:28Go and see Archie.
09:30Did I hear you say that you've got a confusion?
09:35Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:38Super Archie's suffering through the solution.
09:42Great inventions, groovy solutions.
09:46Archie can make most anything.
09:48I can solve your problem, so give me a ring now.
09:53Archie's inventions can help the nation.
09:56Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:00Yeah, I've got a thing called imagination.
10:04Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:07From crazy hats that help us sing, to pigs that fly with yogurt pot wings, yeah.
10:15Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:18Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:21Do your cocks need to plug in?
10:29Has your sprocket sprung its screw?
10:36Do your widgets keep me plug in?
10:43My inventions will sort it out for you.
10:48And know what to do.
10:51Archie's such a clever chap.
10:53He knows a lot now.
10:55Great inventions, groovy solutions.
10:58I'm a scientific wonder with a yogurt pot now.
11:02Great inventions, groovy solutions.
11:05Archie, yeah.
11:15Angus will be jolly pleased that I've fixed this kitchen cardboard drum kit.
11:22I shouldn't think his mum or dad will be.
11:24Hello, Josie.
11:25What's the story in Ballamory?
11:27Well, it all started in the cafe.
11:32I popped in to see Miss Hooley at the nursery earlier.
11:35I needed her help to come up with an idea for a surprise ballet to perform for the children.
11:40We decided on the ballet about a fairy that dances with all the toys and the toybots.
11:47Spencer helped me make the scenery for the ballet from all sorts of things.
11:51It looked brilliant.
11:53But when we took it to the nursery, we couldn't get it inside without spoiling the surprise for the children.
12:01So that's why I'm here, Archie.
12:03I need you to conjure up something that will stop the children from seeing us putting the scenery up.
12:07Right.
12:08So you want me to make something that will make both you and the scenery invisible to the children?
12:13Well, that's right, Archie.
12:15Do you think you can do it?
12:16Oh, yes.
12:16Yes, you see, what is covered can't be seen.
12:22Right.
12:26Can I not be?
12:32Right.
12:46See?
12:47Oh, yes, I get it.
12:49You mean, if we can cover ourselves in the scenery, the children won't be able to see us or know
12:54what we're doing?
12:55In a nutshell?
12:56Would a nutshell be big enough, Archie?
12:58What?
12:59Oh, yes, very funny, Josie.
13:01Um, no, I think we'll need something a little more substantial.
13:04Uh, something like these.
13:07Bed spreads?
13:09Curtains.
13:10Theatre curtains.
13:11And, uh, using, uh, this ribbon and these painted joggerpots, we can make a full stage complete with curtains and
13:18pulls.
13:19Pulls?
13:20Oh, yes, the special strings you use to, uh, open curtains.
13:24Uh, they're easiest thing in the world to make.
13:27Right, uh, let me show you.
13:29OK, now then.
13:33Thread the ribbon.
13:36Do the joggerpot, like that.
13:37Tie a big knot.
13:39And then cut around the edges, like this.
13:44Right.
13:45And there we have it.
13:46Looks like a lovely tassel.
13:48One pull.
13:49Oh, they look brilliant, Archie.
13:51Oh, time's moving on, Josie.
13:53I think we'd better build the rest of the stage up at the nursery.
13:55OK, let's go.
14:04Ready, Archie?
14:05Well, as soon as you are, Miss Hoolie.
14:07Ready, Spencer?
14:09All finished, Miss Hoolie.
14:12Ladies and gentlemen, the Balamori Nursery is proud to present a new ballet called the Balamori Berry.
14:28Once upon a time, there lived a little fairy who loved to dance.
14:35She would spin, leap, skip and bend to the music, which rang through the fairy grove where she lived.
14:45But one day, though, she couldn't find anyone to dance with.
14:49So she visited her nearby nursery to see if any of the children there would dance with her.
14:56But when she got to the school, it was empty, apart from a toy box, which sat in the corner
15:03of the classroom.
15:05With a wave of her magic wand, she brought each toy to life so that they could dance with her.
15:12The soldiers clunked backwards and forwards.
15:24The wibbly-wobbly man wobbled from left to right.
15:39The teddy bear spun around and around.
15:58And the dolls walked to and fro, calling Mama.
16:13And the spaceman moonwalked.
16:46When the dancing was over, the fairy waved her magic wand and the toys stopped dancing.
16:55And the fairy was gone.
17:00The end.
17:19So, what was the story in Bala Mori today?
17:24Well...
17:27Josie arrived and asked for my help to think of a ballet the children might enjoy watching hard dancing class
17:33perform.
17:34We decided on a ballet about a fairy and a box of toys who just loved to leap, spin and
17:40dance.
17:42Spencer helped Josie build the scenery for the ballet, and they brought it along to the nursery.
17:48Big problem.
17:50They couldn't bring it inside without spoiling the surprise for the children.
17:54Archie came up with the answer.
17:57They'd spread curtains.
17:58They stopped everyone from getting a peek at the scenery, or the dancers, until the ballet was ready to begin.
18:05It was a smash!
18:10There we go.
18:14And I'll see you very soon. Bye!
18:23Bye!
18:26Bala Mori!
