The Heat finally landed their guy, acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo in a franchise-changing move that immediately vaults Miami into the upper tier of the Eastern Conference. 02:11It propels them in my opinion, right into the top four of the Eastern conference.
02:16And that's, uh, you know, without really knowing how the rest of this roster is going to take

02:20So this is interesting here, Dono and, uh, and Omar, um, the way that ESPN has the depth
02:26chart listed currently, and they got, they got updating this thing quick here.
02:30Uh, they got Dave, you on Mitchell at the point, Norman Powell, the shooting guard spot,
02:34Andrew Wiggins at the small forward spot, Giannis at the four BAM at the five.
02:37So here's the deal though.
02:40Andrew Wiggins looks like he's going to maybe have to opt out, uh, perhaps of his, uh, his
02:45player option here.
02:46And that will, uh, if he can work something, uh, maybe give a little, uh, uh, free, uh,
02:52freedom for the heat to land, uh, to sign Powell as well.
02:56So it's going to be interesting here, guys, how they, uh, how they maneuver through this.
03:00Uh, they did give up a lot in this trade, but certainly, uh, it was necessary.
03:05And, um, the, the heat make a big, big splash.
03:08And this is what we were, this is what we were hoping for guys.

03:12And the heat finally get it done here, Dono.
03:14Well, yeah, I didn't want to be spectators again when it comes to, you know, seeing a
03:18great player that we took a swing for go elsewhere.
03:21Uh, and, and you think about, you know, the chess move that this is in the Eastern conference.
03:26I mean, Hollywood, you mentioned that this puts the heat on paper solidly, probably top
03:30four in the East now, but you also think about the outside ramifications.

03:36Um, you have seen, you know, the gap between you and your historic rival, New York Knicks
03:42widen to the point where they just want a championship and you couldn't get through
03:46the play in, right?
03:47So you've closed the gap now, at least a considerable amount with the New York Knicks.
03:52You also in making this move, you keep Giannis away from the Celtics who were the other
03:58team in the mix, which is another hated rival.
04:00So, I mean, had this deal not gone Miami's way, there would have been massive ramifications
04:05for how far behind those teams you still are.
04:08The trade does go Miami's way.
04:10And this not only makes you a lot more competitive, but it also keeps Giannis away from one of your
04:16most hated rivals in Boston.
04:18I didn't like the consolation prizes.
04:20I mean, Kawhi Leonard, that wouldn't have been very pleasant for me.
04:25Um, so I'm, I'm glad that this got done, uh, yesterday, Danny on Hollywood, and I'm not
04:32even throwing Dan Day in here.
04:33We're, we're telling me Jalen Brown was a better trade acquisition.
04:38Um, I, I'm sorry.
04:39I'm, I like Jalen Brown, but, uh, give me Giannis, give me the Greek freak.
04:43Uh, he is a freak of nature.
04:45I don't really have concerns about him from a medical standpoint.
04:48I think he realized he was playing for a team or part of a team that wasn't going anywhere
04:54and was kind of preserving his body.
04:56Um, so hopefully that that's the reality of the situation.
05:00Um, and now that he's back on a team that he believes can be a contender, I'm, I'm interested
05:05to see how the heat can put this all together.
05:07Um, find talent that they can develop.
05:10Um, from what I understand, they're still going to have to make the 13th selection since
05:14the trade can't become official.
05:15But that player, as everybody knows, is going to have to go to the Milwaukee bucks.
05:19But I'm curious what to see what, if, if they, what they can find in the second round or
05:25with undrafted players.
05:27And I'm a big believer that he can find players and develop them.
05:31And I'm, I'm curious to see how that's going to pan out here.
05:33You know, uh, Omar, what you mentioned is the injury deal.
05:37And I do think Milwaukee kind of screwed around, uh, with him towards the end.
05:41Um, it, it was not a pleasant ending to, uh, to whatever went, uh, went down there.
05:47Um, I do think Giannis, it meant a lot to him to not blow, you know, take a blow torch
05:52to, uh, to the bucks and to that fan base.
05:55And he is not, he does not strike me as the villain type.
05:58He, yeah, you could tell he wants everybody to like him.

06:01He wants to be liked, and I think he did it in the right way.

06:04He, he got out of there in the right way and it didn't turn into a, you know, a Jimmy
06:07Butler, like, you know, we're, we're just going to destroy this thing, uh, on the
06:11way out here and just, uh, you know, crush every relationship possible.
06:14But Omar, you mentioned his health and you know, the one thing I will say about Giannis
06:18is his build, uh, his body build and, and you cover the NFL, Omar.
06:23It is a very rare, uh, and unique build that Giannis has.
06:28He is built, um, essentially a bricks.
06:31So, uh, yeah, you have that going for you, right?
06:34That the fact that this guy is, is just built different, uh, from a physical standpoint
06:39than, um, essentially any other player that, uh, that we've seen.
06:43And he's wiry in a broad category, right?
06:46When it comes to the way that his body is put, that's why they call him the Greek freak.
06:49Uh, very wiry, um, very compact.
06:52You, you don't have to worry about him putting on weight and slowing down.
06:56I think he gets still penetrate and drive to the basket.
06:59Um, you know, putting it, putting him with bam is going to be very interesting because bam
07:04can play the defense, bam can go out, spot, shoot, bam can bring the ball up court.
07:09So now you got two bigs that can bring the ball up court.
07:11I think you're, you're trying to find shooters now.
07:14And I, I really don't think that he'd have a problem finding shooters.
