00:00Uh, Barry Jackson from the Miami Herald did tweet out per source, he discussed whether
00:05to pursue John Morant, but ultimately decided against it for several reasons.
00:11And someone responded to Barry Jackson.
00:14Oh, we'd love to hear them.
00:16And he wrote, I'll explain in the piece.
00:19So Barry Jackson's working on a column right now, I'm guessing for the Miami Herald and
00:24will outline what he's heard from his sources as to why the heat didn't go after John Morant.
00:29My guess is it's salary related and nothing more than that.
00:33No, no.
00:33And I wasn't with jaw and bam.
00:37I don't think that's a all-star roster.
00:39Giannis with job with bam.
00:41Now we got some going, but just to go get jaw, I honestly, and I think he's a great basketball
00:46player.
00:46I wasn't with just making jaw.
00:49Well, I don't think he is right now.
00:51Yeah.
00:51I mean, there are heat fans who just wanted a maneuver period.
00:55End of story.
00:56Like just do, you know, the old meme, do something.
00:59There are heat fans who just wanted that.
01:02I'm sorry.
01:02I didn't mean to interrupt you, Solana.
01:03Oh, no.
01:03I was just going to say that article has come out and I can read you here what he says.
01:09Um, his contract and a history of injuries plus a myriad of other factors, but Barry writes,
01:17Morant has not played more than 67 games in any of his six seasons because of injuries
01:20and suspensions.
01:21He has appeared in nine and 50 games of previous two seasons, just 20 this year.
01:26He's now sidelined by an elbow injury.
01:29Also Morant is due 42 million next season and 44.8 million and 27, 28 that concern that
01:36he more so because of the history of injuries.
01:39And then he goes on to explain a couple other things, but that trading the expiring contracts
01:44of Roger and Simone Fantecchio would have been cap compliant, but it's unclear if the
01:48Grizzlies would have accepted that and such a trade did not fit the heat objectives anyways,
01:53because it would have left Miami as a taxpayer this season, which, which, uh, which would
01:57have triggered, um, them in the onerous repeater tax.
02:02So I, I, I would say again, and I'm kind of with that they're in a situation with Tyler
02:09hero right now where he's supposed to be one of their stars and he's just not available.
02:14And the same thing potentially could happen with John Morant is based on his history.
02:20If I had my druthers and you were going to take, take a chance on someone who has an injury
02:25history, I would do it for Zion who probably isn't going to cause it's just not going to
02:30cost you as much because how can he command anything out there?
02:34If I'm going to take a flyer on someone out of that particular draft, it's Zion or jaw.
02:39Give me Zion on a cheap deal.
02:42Here you go.
02:43Eat yourself into submission in South Florida, but it's still 10 million, but, but, but let's
02:49think if his jaw and like you're saying, Terry Rozier's contracts, nothing.
02:52We know what's going on with him.
02:53If it is Tyler, if it's those guys is giant bam that my whole thought, like past the gun
03:00and all the stuff that goes off the court, the, the, the variables, I don't think John
03:05bam is a championship team.
03:09That's not a one and two on a championship team.
03:11I think they might be a better team than currently constructed, but not if jaw's not available.
03:16And that's their concern.
03:17If jaw's out there for 40 or 50 games and they're, you know, kind of fighting their way
03:23into the play in or the bottom of the, the, the tier, then I just don't know if that makes
03:29it worth it.
03:30I think we have to come to the conclusion, Solana and I, you know, you can go, but Tyler
03:36hero is not a part of this future.
03:38I think that's what we have to get to the move him for 10 years.
03:42Like, I don't think they've ever made that a secret.
03:45Well, I mean, they didn't pay him the extension last off season.
03:51I think that was pretty telling as it pertains to John Morant, because I know a lot of heat
03:56fans are going to read that where they say, you know, the heat didn't want to be a repeater
04:00tax team.
04:01And they're going to say, Oh, Mickey Harrison's being cheap.
04:03They were in the tax for two straight seasons.
04:05If you're in the tax for three straight seasons, it's not just, Oh, the billionaire owner has
04:10to pay more money.
04:12There's actual ramifications to talent acquisition.
04:16What you can bring in, what you can't bring in that could jeopardize your ability to remain
04:21flexible moving forward.
04:22I think if the heat would have been able to land Giannis and John Morant, and you pair that
04:28with Bam and Norman Powell, they would have considered being a repeater tax team because
04:34they're actually contending.
04:35But that move to go get John Morant and put them in the situation where they would be a
04:41repeater tax team and they're not contending could have severe ramifications down the line
04:47and, and keep you from actually going out and landing somebody else.
04:51And by the way, John Morant, I understand the idea of, well, you didn't get Giannis,
04:56go get John Morant.
04:56But I do understand that he's saying, Hey, we did this with Jimmy Butler.
05:00We went after a guy and gave him all the liberties that we didn't even give LeBron, even though
05:07he wasn't available for, you know, more than 61 games a season, which is literally what
05:12he played 55 to 60 games a season.
05:14We don't want to be in that predicament again.
05:17And you're really rolling the dice with John Morant.
05:20And it would have literally been the exact same thing with Jimmy Butler.
05:23They don't want that again.
05:25So I, you know, I'm not as upset about the John Morant thing because I don't think you're
05:29getting them for Terry Rozier and Simone Fantechio anyways.
05:32By the way, Giannis has tweeted for the first time since December.
05:38Giannis has just tweeted legends.
05:41Don't chase.
05:42They attract.
05:44Yeah.
05:44Okay.
05:47To Milwaukee.
05:49Well, I love him.
05:51I love him.
05:52And I love that too.
05:54I love him.
05:55Oh, that's it.
05:56You're over him.
05:56You were ready to throw yourself through the window here to get Giannis.
06:02Two seconds.
06:03I'm done.
06:03I would still throw myself through a window.
06:05But I'm done with it because I've seen this story again and we're going to see it again
06:11in the off season.
06:11We know exactly what's going to happen because, oh, legends don't attract or legends don't
06:16chase.
06:16They attract.
06:16Yeah.
06:17You know what you attracted?
06:18Chris Middleton.
06:19And you know what you attracted?
06:21Damian Lillard's literally is two worst seasons as a pro in the NBA.
06:25This exact same thing is going to play out again in the off season.
06:29And guess what?
06:29He's probably going to be on Milwaukee to start next season.
06:31And we're going to be in the exact same situation.
06:34Mark the tape, Jimmy, a year from now where he's unhappy with what the Bucs are doing.
06:39Their inability to put pieces around them.
06:41And guess what, Giannis?
06:42You could have had your way.
06:43You could be on a title contending team.
06:45I like that Jimmy actually marked the tape.
06:50Because it's digital.
06:52And if you hit like the M button, it creates a line on that digital waveform.
06:57But he didn't write anything down or whatever.
06:59So now this tape is just marked, but no one will ever see it again.
07:03But to his credit, he did indeed.
07:08I'm right.
07:08He marked the tape.
07:11Jimmy, mark that tape that I just said.
07:13Can you mark that tape?
07:14No.
07:15No, no.
07:15I'd like you to mark the tape, please.
07:18Mark my tape.
07:20Yeah.
07:20Mark this tape.
07:23Triple mark.
07:24Yeah.
07:25Mark it now for Crowder.
07:26Okay, I'm done.
07:32But, Solano, to your point where it's Giannis wants to be on a good team, he needs to leave.
07:40He has to make a decision.
07:41He has to be the bad guy.
07:43I'm not getting on your side, but if he wants to move.
07:46Put your foot down.
07:47No, with some players and get them to buy into Milwaukee.
07:51We've heard what happened with the big three.
07:53It was D-Wade that put the big three together.
07:55That's right.
07:56The banana boat.
07:57Giannis needs to put his hoof down and say, here's why Milwaukee's great.
08:02Here's why we'll thrive together.
08:05That's what he needs to do.
08:07Hawk, they're paying a player who's no longer on their team $20 million for the next two seasons
08:13after this year.
08:14I mean, that's due to injury.
08:16Like, that's not due to anything other than that.
08:19No, no, no.
08:19I get it.
08:20They got unlucky with Dame.
08:21That's fair.
08:21But I'm saying they're in a pretty bad spot, the Milwaukee Bucks.
08:26Put your hoof down and get in a better spot.
08:29You can put as many hoofs as you want down.
08:31But when you're paying a player who's not even on your roster $20 million every year for
08:36the next two years.
08:36Oh, stop it.
08:37We're paying a player who was out there gambling all his money away.
08:41Everybody's caught in predicaments.
08:43Just gave him $26.6 million.
08:45Put your hoof down.
08:47I mean, we're going to be in the exact same situation next year.
08:50He's going to be upset.
08:51Doc Rivers will still be there for some bizarre reason.
08:55And Giannis is going to do the exact same thing where he's going to pretend like he's
08:58the good guy.
08:59And it's the Bucks front office.
09:01Put him out of your mind and say, we don't want him regardless.
09:03We're moving on with our lives.
09:05I'll put him out of my mind.
09:06You do not want to say it publicly.
09:08Mark this tape, Jimmy.
09:09Say it publicly.
09:10You do not want Giannis on the heat, and you will not support him nor the heat if he comes
09:15here.
09:15I don't want him on the team, and I will not support him publicly.
09:20But say his name when you're saying it.
09:21You don't want Giannis on the team?
09:23No, no.
09:24I'm saying I don't want him on this team.
09:27No, but say the person's name.
09:29I don't want they, them on this team.
09:31Mark this tape.
09:32Mark the tape, Jimmy.
09:34Mark this tape.
09:34Because this is important.
09:35This is crazy.
09:36He sure is.
09:40He doesn't want Giannis.
09:41All right, let's get headlines here for the 4 o'clock hour.
09:44Brought to you by Durrell Kia, home of the Pricito, our lowest price.
09:48Visit them at DurrellKia or DurrellKia.com.
09:50I want Cam Thomas.
09:53Well, you're going to have an opportunity because the buyout market is open, and Cam Thomas is
09:59there.
09:59Chris Paul is in it.
10:00I mean, you can go get Chris Paul.
10:02I'm sure he's going to get bought out.
10:04Where'd he go?
10:04Toronto?
10:05Yeah, he's going to get bought out.
10:06He's going to get bought out.
10:07Don't even jump on the flight to Toronto.
10:10I don't want Chris Paul.
10:12Well, listen, this is what we're relegated to, the buyout market, and it's slim pickings.
10:20It's Cam Thomas or Chris Paul?
10:22Pretty much.
10:23I don't know.
10:23Who else is out there?
10:25Who did we get in the buyout market one year?
10:27Didn't we get Jay Crowder once?
10:29No, we traded for Jay Crowder and Andre Iguodala.
10:32We got Joe Johnson in 2015 or 2016, rather.
10:35We got Joe Johnson the year before Wade left.
10:37Remember, the starting lineup was Goran, Dwayne Wade, Luol Deng, Joe Johnson, and Amari Stoudemire.
10:44We went to the Eastern Conference Finals.
10:47All right.
10:49No offense needed.
10:50Give me the ball.
10:54I don't need any picks.
10:55I don't need it.
10:56Get from around me.
10:58Give me the ball.
10:59Get from over here, Wade.
11:01Give me the ball.
11:02I don't need it.

11:08I don't need it.
11:08I don't need it.
11:09I don't need it.
11:09I don't need it.
11:10I don't need it.
11:10I don't need it.
11:11I don't need it.
