00:14He laughed at Andrade for even thinking about going after the world championship, so that's going to tie in.
00:18Bracey told Swerve Shrikland he should swerve off a bridge, so, you know, that's relatively controversial.
00:23And when he talked about Kenny Omega, he referenced having a tiny kosher pickle,
00:27so I guess he was talking about Kenny's penis, and I suppose the sign of your schlong is then going
00:32to equate to whether you're allowed a world title match.
00:34By the time he got to hang by Adam Page, he just laughed his ass off,
00:37so you have to imagine that the cowboy is going to screw over Maxwell eventually.
00:41When he talked about Mark Briscoe and said, Mark, you're delusional,
00:44because at least everybody else I mentioned was a big star, and as for you, you nut.
00:47He then named his team, and of course he put himself in it, otherwise it would be weird,
00:50when he also said it would be Kevin Knight, it would be Kyle Fletcher, it would be Jake Doyle,
00:54it would be Andrade, and it would be Okada. Of course, Andrade was like, I am not going to join
00:58you,
00:59you just said horrible words about me, and Don Callis was all like, yes, you will,
01:02because otherwise you won't get a world title shot.
01:04So how Andrade can't tell he's being played, well, I don't know.
01:07Also, my friends, welcome to Ups and Downs, the only wrestling review show you need,
01:10with I, Simon Miller, the bald wrestler and ball wrestling content creator.
01:14I mean, it would be very bizarre if I had hair in one of those endeavours,
01:16but yes, it was a decent start to Dynamite.
01:18We are just setting up for this big cage match,
01:20although I will say, I thought it was really weird that the main event of tonight's show
01:24was a tag team match featuring the same people.
01:27But we'll talk about that in a second, let's up those downs.
01:31Because before all that, it was Kenny Omega versus Tony Nese,
01:33and do you know that AEW has a brand new pay-per-view soon called Redemption,
01:37or Revenge, or Let's Get Stuff Sorted, going down in Canada,
01:41and all of a sudden Kenny Omega is getting a lot of wins?
01:43As I say, he was taking on big tone here, and he whooped his ass.
01:47V-Trigger one-winged Angel one-two-three, he even took out his goons.
01:50Right on after this, though, of course, TDMK walked out as well.
01:53That's the New Japan stable, led by Zack Sabre Jr.
01:55When Kenny Omega was backed up by the Young Bucks and Jungle Jack Perry,
01:59it's a little bit strange, because Kenny Omega just went,
02:02listen, Zack, nobody knows what your group is called,
02:04even though Zack Sabre Jr. definitely knows what his group is called.
02:07You're an idiot, but let's face it, we are bedfellows.
02:09When it comes to professional wrestling, and if you get a victory at Forbidden Door,
02:13that's going to help your aspirations to become the IWGP champion.
02:16And can you believe it?
02:17That's the save for me, Kenneth Omega at AEW.
02:19So Omega basically kept laughing at the group,
02:21and Zack Sabre Jr. and co. didn't say a word.
02:24I think we could have allowed Zack to say one word,
02:26because that's just an easy way to set up a pro wrestling promo,
02:30because basically he turned up to the show to walk out, say nothing, and turn around.
02:33Now, listen, I do like this big Kenny Omega push,
02:35because it's Kenny Omega, and he's a super-duper-wooper star,
02:38so I'm going to give it an up.
02:39And really, AEW doesn't need to hype Kenny versus Zack Sabre Jr.,
02:42because if you know, you know.
02:43At the same time, I just thought it was so weird.
02:46He stood there and took it.
02:48He should have said some words.
02:49I'm going to give that a minor down.
02:52When we went right into Death Riders versus Brodido, Bandido, Bambolibo,
02:56now, we haven't seen Brody King and Bandido as a team for a while,
02:59so I was like, well, if they get the victory here, which I presume they will,
03:02does that mean they're going to go after the tag belts again?
03:04And instead, it was Bandido that pinned Daniel Garcia,
03:08and then later on, challenged Jon Moxley for the Continental Championship.
03:12That's a little bit 2 plus 2 equals potato.
03:14This was so funny, because this week, the Riders of Death were healed,
03:16because they were taken on babyfaces.
03:18Although, given the big promo that Will Ospreay cut later,
03:20I think that is exactly the idea,
03:23because eventually, just to get ahead of myself,
03:25I think Jon Moxley and friends are going to punch Will Ospreay right in the face.
03:28Given that lots of people in this match dance as well,
03:31he got a lot of dancing.
03:32I'm never going to mind that.
03:32It's basically like the Dance of Joy,
03:34and of course, Marina Shafir was there,
03:36and she was just interfering and doing all kind of nonsense,
03:39before Bandido was like, nope, and he smashed her.
03:41Not like that.
03:42Damn it, Will Ospreay said smash that.
03:44I didn't mean that.
03:45That was a mistake.
03:45Move on.
03:46Bandido soon got the hot tag, and this guy is awesome.
03:48In fact, everybody in this match was brilliant.
03:50And Moxley basically saved Daniel Garcia from the 21plex by tagging in.
03:54But then, yeah, because Marina was being an idiot,
03:56Bandido took out all of the Death Riders when he hit the 21plex onto Daniel Garcia.
04:00So Brody King dove onto Jon Moxley,
04:02and Bandido pinned him for the one, two, three.
04:04Now, yes, later on, they did walk in all like,
04:07oh, hi, Jon Moxley.
04:08You're the continental champion, so I'd love a shot at you.
04:11And Moxley all like, tranquilo, tranquilo.
04:13I accept your challenge.
04:14So I just kind of think Bandido could have pinned Jon Moxley here.
04:18That wouldn't have been the end of the world.
04:19And you pinning Jon Moxley's mate to get a title match?
04:23Well, I bet Daniel Garcia feels pretty bad right now,
04:26although Moxley did lose his temper with him later.
04:28That's probably why.
04:29Maybe he'll get murked too.
04:30The match was brilliant, though, and actually, eventually,
04:32if you do want to put Brodido back into the tag team division properly,
04:35I ain't going to moan.
04:35So I am going to give it up.
04:37But yes, sometimes I think wrestling doesn't need to be complicated.
04:40Just have Bandido beat Jon Moxley,
04:43unless he's actually going to beat him at the pay-per-view,
04:45which I can't see coming.
04:47Once again, just a tiny down.
04:49It felt obvious.
04:51I'm going to give a proper down to what came next, though,
04:53because we did cut backstage,
04:54and Carl Fletcher and Akana were just back on the same page.
04:57Now, listen, I get it.
04:58They're going to fall out again.
04:59But also, they are on Team MJF.
05:01The last time, these two guys were kind of doing things.
05:04Sure, Takeshi hadn't had his meltdown,
05:06but there was a wedge between them,
05:08and Carl was looking at Akana,
05:09and there was screwdriver issues.
05:10All of that has kind of just been forgotten,
05:12even though they sort of referenced it here.
05:14I just don't think we need to play the long game
05:16as much as we do play the long game.
05:18Sometimes just get to the good and propers,
05:20although actually, at the pay-per-view,
05:21I guess they could fall out,
05:22and this was a trick.
05:23I don't know.
05:24I just think Don Callis should have been like,
05:26no, you calm down, and you calm down.
05:28I mean, Akana basically tried to murder Carl Fletcher
05:31a few months ago, giving it a down.
05:33Tommaso Ciampa then cut a promo on Chris Jericho.
05:35So later on, Chris Jericho cut a promo on Tommaso Ciampa,
05:38and they are going to meet a collision.
05:41When the dogs were going to come to the ring,
05:42and they were doing that horrible thing they always do,
05:44and they were bullying AEW production staff,
05:46and these guys went, ta-da!
05:48And it was Adam Copeland and Christian Cage.
05:50They whooped their ass.
05:51I thought that was quite fun.
05:52Adam and Christian also cut a totally unhinged promo,
05:55or at least Christian did,
05:56because he was like,
05:57hey, David Finley,
05:58if you're meant to be some kind of tribute to your dad,
06:00I think we all agree that Finley
06:02should have let us send something roll down his leg.
06:05Now, listen, on the show,
06:06we try and break down what wrestlers are talking about,
06:09and I think he meant sperm.
06:10That's right, so when he was doing the deed,
06:12he should have let the thick stuff just go down his thigh,
06:15and I regret getting here.
06:17Adam Copeland was much more serious about this,
06:19because he was like,
06:19listen, I get it, dogs.
06:20You've beaten everybody recently,
06:22and you're just us from 30 years ago.
06:24You think you know it all,
06:25but you know what happened to Edge and Christian back in the day,
06:27the WWF.
06:28We met the APA,
06:29we met the New Age Outlaws,

06:34And listen,

06:39I think they used the term as well,
06:40they're going to use their old man strength,
06:42which I think is brilliant.
06:43And I just like this program,
06:45because I think it's everything that AEW should be.
06:47You do have a brand new tag team who are super duper whooper good,
06:50but you've also got Adam Copeland and Christian Cage,
06:52who are two legends.
06:53And I assume Copeland and Cage are going to win,
06:56when eventually maybe the New Day turn up,
06:57but we wait and see.
06:58I am just going to give it an up.
07:00I think everybody in their respective duos works very well together.
07:04We did a big promo for Starlight Kid,
07:05and Tekla, of course,
07:06is going down at Forbidden Door.
07:08Basically, Starlight Kid was like,
07:09nobody likes you, Tekla.
07:10We remember what you did in Japan.
07:12And then Tekla was like,
07:13well, I don't care what anybody thought I did in Japan,
07:14because I hate everybody,
07:16and I'm going to do some spitting.
07:18Over the last couple of weeks,
07:19she really does enjoy spitting.
07:20And look, listen,
07:20this was a very cool productional video that AEW did do,
07:23and it did get you hyped.
07:25I just don't think we're entirely there at the moment
07:27when it comes to Tekla and her Forbidden Door match.
07:29I'm not going to give it an up or down,
07:30because I want to see what's going to happen next week.
07:32But she just seems to appear on the show
07:34for around about 45 seconds,
07:35and then she goes again,
07:37and she is the AEW Women's Champion.
07:40This is when we had the whole Bandido and Jon Moxie
07:42getting each other's faces,
07:43when it was time for the next round
07:45of the Women's Owen Hart Cup,
07:46Hazuki versus Mercedes Benet,
07:48and I thought this was flubbing great.
07:50The best part about it
07:50is that the first half was deliberately slow,
07:52so when they got to the back end,
07:54they went absolutely crazy.
07:55And it's one of those matches
07:56that when we are done here today,
07:58you should just go and watch it.
07:59It's a barrel of laughs,
08:00and these two are just absolutely terrific professional wrestlers.
08:03Hazuki at one point did a DDT onto the apron,
08:05which is the hardest part of the ring,
08:06and she was just flying around the place with dives.
08:08That's what wrestlers do in the modern day.
08:10When Mercedes came back with the three amigos,
08:12she went after the arm,
08:13and I think she hit 42,799 meteors.
08:17I mean, why not?
08:17If you think there's something in that move,
08:19you may as well spam it.
08:20Mercedes then got a long blower,
08:21as we just got pin, pin, pin, pin, pin,
08:23when Hazuki was able to get out of the Monet thingamajig.
08:26What's it called?
08:27The Monet Maker.

08:28for deliberately stalling there.
08:29When Mercedes was like,
08:30well, that's fine.
08:31I do have another move.
08:32She locked in the statement maker,
08:34and because Hazuki kind of had a gammy arm,
08:36and also because they looked incredibly uncomfortable,
08:37she did tap out.
08:39Mercedes is going through to the next round.
08:41She's probably going to win the whole thing,
08:42but like I say,
08:43if you had never seen Hazuki before,
08:45surely you're a fan now.
08:47I just thought this was great to watch,
08:48and also because Hazuki is from Stardom,
08:50it was like Forbidden Door before Forbidden Door,
08:53and that's okay,
08:54because I actually think during the build to Forbidden Door,
08:55you should have Forbidden Door matches.
08:57That makes sense?
08:58I do not know.

09:02This is when we got to our Will Ospreay,
09:04Swerve Strickland face-to-face,
09:05and I thought this was great as well,
09:07because man,
09:07they went back in time,
09:09and reminded you of the facts.

09:10this is what I was talking about earlier.
09:11Will Ospreay did say he's meant to be on his honeymoon right now,
09:14because him and Alex Windsor just got married,
09:15so massive congratulations to those guys.
09:17When he was like,
09:18but don't worry,

09:20we went upstairs,
09:21and I smashed it.
09:22That's right,
09:22he's talking about sex,
09:23which is why I absolutely should not have used the word smash,

09:49Swerve even said he sees them playing Booty Boot Camp every single week,

10:44we should do it for Hangman,
10:46and where is he now,
10:46he's totally vanished,
10:47so no more will Strickland play second fiddle,

10:52Hangman has fallen into the Phantom Zone,
10:55and nobody ever talks about it,
10:56he's also sick of others getting opportunities,
10:58because when he was champion,
10:59a bunch of fragile egos,
11:01meant he wasn't able to do what he wanted to do,

11:03that was a shot from a few years ago,
11:05and if nothing else,
11:05look at the records Osprey,
11:07you have never been able to beat me,
11:08so the only thing that has actually changed between you and I,
11:11is that you have a broken neck,
11:13and I'm going to break it again,

11:15Will punched him in the face,
11:16now no one went and got a chain,
11:18when of course the Death Riders came out,
11:19to protect their investment,
11:20and Swerve Strickland looked so disgusted,

11:28I thought I raised you better than that,
11:29afterwards too,
11:30the Death Riders were super mad,
11:31especially Danny Garcia,
11:32because they think Will Osprey,
11:33needs to be more aggressive,
11:34when John Moxie also became his father again,
11:36and said would you stop this,
11:38and that was also after,
11:39Will had grabbed Daniel Garcia,
11:40and throttled him by the lapel,
11:41but Moxie made it very clear,
11:43you know the path,
11:44you know what we're doing,
11:45you make sure you stick to it,
11:46and beat Swerve,
11:47so I actually thought this was really good,
11:48and sold the idea of this forbidden door match,
11:50and the finals of the Owens,
11:51as the biggest match ever,
11:53and given that I think,
11:54that Hangman Redden Page will return soon,
11:56and the fact that I think,
11:57that Swerve Strickland is losing,
11:58he better have a massive story lined up here,
12:01honestly,
12:01every single thing he said was true,
12:03but everything Will Osprey said was true too,
12:05and while Swerve Strickland is more heel than Will,
12:08you could just pick a side,
12:09you just know that they know this match has to be great as well,
12:12I am giving it an up,
12:13that my friends,
12:14is how you build professional wrestling,
12:16this is where Mark Briscoe made sure to announce his team,
12:18and it is Mark Briscoe,
12:19Darby Allen,
12:19Takeshita,
12:20Roderick Strong,
12:21Kyle O'Reilly,
12:21and Orange Cassidy,
12:24well yes,
12:25we did team MJF versus team Briscoe,
12:27in a big tag team match,
12:29now it was brilliant and so much fun,
12:30and I would implore you to watch it,
12:32but I'm also going to give it a down,
12:33because now we're just going to repeat it in 10 days,
12:35but it's just going to be in a cage,
12:37that's one of my wrestling pet peeves,
12:39I don't need to see it,
12:40before I need to see it,
12:41it was super fun though,
12:42and absolutely worth your time,
12:43even with all that,
12:44and yes of course,
12:45we kept the booking simple here,
12:46because team MJF did win,
12:48and do you want to know why,
12:49we did that,
12:50because at the pay-per-view,
12:51team MJF will lose,
12:52allowing Mark Briscoe and MJF,
12:53to have their world title match,
12:55and then sure,
12:55Mark Briscoe won't win that,
12:56but I bet you he comes close,
12:58we also made sure that Briscoe,
12:59got the visual pin over MJF here as well,
13:01after he hit the Dre Jiller,
13:02but of course,
13:03Don Callis was casting distraction,
13:04and the referee couldn't handle that,
13:06when Briscoe tried to climb to the top rope,
13:08and Kyle Fletcher was like,
13:09no my boy,
13:10I most definitely hate you after our feud,
13:12and he murked him,
13:13now thankfully,
13:13Roderick Strong was there,
13:15he tagged in,
13:16worst plan of all time,
13:17he ran straight into MJF's,
13:18sort of the earth armbar,
13:19and he tapped out,
13:20it was the aftermath,
13:21I suppose you're ready to keep an eye on,
13:22because all the bad guys,
13:23beat up the good guys,
13:25and even though Andrade was like,
13:26I don't want to attack Mark Briscoe,
13:28Don Callis once again,
13:29got in his face and said,
13:30if you don't,
13:30you're not getting a world title match,
13:32so Andrade must be more blind,
13:34than Stevie Wonder,
13:35how can you see what's happening here,
13:37Mr Tranquilo,
13:38they are screwing you over,
13:39but of course,
13:39that will be the story,
13:41and I would imagine,
13:41within a few months,
13:42it will be Andrade MJF for the championship,
13:44so all of this was really good,
13:45and again,
13:46I love the fact,
13:46that all these people,
13:47do want to go after MJF,
13:48and we reference this every single week,
13:50but also,
13:51we do have a subplot,
13:51when it comes to Andrade,
13:53so sure,
13:53it was a bit weird,
13:54to the tag match for the pay-per-view,
13:55I am still going to give it an up,
13:57because genuinely,
13:58pick any single person,
13:59who's in this,
14:00and they are so damn good,
14:01at what they do,
14:02I had a wonderful time,
14:04which brought us to the end,
14:04of AW Dynamite,
14:05and actually,
14:06I'm really enjoying this show,
14:07at the moment,
14:07even with a few pet peeves,
14:08I have thrown out here,
14:10because we are headed to Forbidden Door,
14:11the card looks pretty damn good,
14:13and also,
14:13I think it's only fair to say,
14:15when it comes to AW on pay-per-view,
14:17those mother flubbers never miss,
14:19up.
