00:00You've been clear, President Trump, the United States is not going to directly pay Iran,
00:07but the U.S. is going to let the Iranians start making billions of dollars,
00:12selling oil, accessing this Reconstruction Fund.
00:16Only if they're doing things right.
00:18Only if, Peter, only if, we're not doing anything.
00:22We're not putting up money.
00:23Only if they're doing things right.
00:25If they're doing things right, if people want to invest, they can invest,
00:29but they have this $300 million fund.
00:33It's only $300 million fund.
00:35It's only if they're doing things right.
00:37Remember this also.
00:39When you talk about billions of dollars,
00:42they've had much more than a trillion dollars worth of damage done.
00:45They got a long way.
00:47They'll be 15 to 20 years to rebuild what they have right now.
00:51So they have to behave themselves.
00:54If they're not behaving, they get hit again.
00:56You know, they'll be hit again because we can do it very easily.
00:59It's going to take a long way for them to build back their anti-aircraft stuff.
01:03It's going to take...
01:03And you know the other thing I want to thank?
01:05China.
01:06President Xi, I was with him.
01:09And he stayed neutral, totally neutral.
01:12And I appreciate it.
01:13And I want to thank Vladimir Putin.
01:16He was very neutral.
01:18They could have made it much more difficult for us.
01:22And I want to say it.
01:23You know, somebody would say, oh, that's terrible.
01:24He's thinking...
01:25He's thinking President Xi of China.
01:28Well, let me tell you, I had a long talk with him.
01:30You know, they have shoulder weapons to knock down airplanes.
01:34It's not like the real deal.
01:36But they're accurate.
01:37They're fairly accurate.
01:38I said, I would really appreciate you're not giving or selling any of that stuff to Iran.
01:45And you know what?
01:46For the most part, he didn't.
01:50So I just want to thank them because they made it a lot better.
01:54Can you explain, though, what the difference is between giving Iran U.S. dollars and unfreezing U.S. dollars for
02:03Iran?
02:03Well, the unfreezing, that's an easy one to answer.
02:06We have taken a lot of their money.
02:10And we have their money.
02:11We have taken their money.
02:13It's not our money.
02:14It's their money.
02:15And we froze it.
02:16At a certain point in time, I guess we're going to have to give it back.
02:21In fact, you know, if we didn't give it back, nobody would ever invest in the dollar again.
02:25If you took their money, because I thought about it.
02:28You know, I'm not the most perfect person.
02:30I said to Scott, Scott, why do we keep their money?
02:34What the hell are we giving it back to them?
02:37But, you know, people from lots of nations, some nations we don't agree with, they have their money.
02:43The dollar has become very strong under me.
02:47And they don't want to have a little conflict with somebody and end up having the United States just take
02:52their money.
02:53So if you do that, you really don't have a system.
02:56And I did just want to ask you about this.
02:59A wise man once said in January of 2020, Iran never won a war, but never lost a negotiation.
03:08That wise man.
03:09Who said that?
03:10Donald Trump.
03:11That's what I thought you were going to say.
03:13So how do you go back to the United States and convince a skeptical American public that this deal is
03:20a win?
03:21Well, look, here they lost militarily, okay?
03:23It's very tough because I know that no matter what, if I would go, by the way, if I'd go
03:29another three or four weeks,
03:30the same people that are critical would say, he went too long, he should have done, you know, no matter
03:34what.
03:34If they raised the white flag of surrender and if they said, praise be to Allah, Donald Trump is the
03:44greatest president ever.
03:45We totally concede.
03:46We totally give up.
03:47This war is over.
03:48We have failed.
03:50The New York Times and CNN and a couple of others are not all that dishonest.
03:54They say Iran had a great victory, okay?
03:58And they practically do that.
04:00You know, it's amazing.
04:01When we knocked out their last ship, they had 159 ships.
04:04When we knocked out the last ship, the Times refused to do a story on it.
04:08They said, why wouldn't you?
04:09They don't have a Navy and you don't want to do a story on it.
04:12They don't have an Air Force.
04:13You don't want to do a story.
04:15We need a fair press.
04:17And that's why they're all doing so badly because they lost credibility.
04:20When I went in a landslide and I had 93% bad press, they'd take good stories about me and
04:27make them bad.
04:28But the only reason that happened is because they have so little, the media has so little credibility that the
04:36people voted for me.
04:3893% of the stories on network, ABC is horrible.
04:43I think ABC is the worst.
04:45NBC is terrible.
04:46And CBS is terrible.
04:48CNN, obviously.
04:50And I never get good stories.
04:52No matter what I do, I could do the greatest thing.
04:54I won't get good stories on this.
04:56I'll get it from fair media.
04:57I'll get it from all over the world.
04:59They're running good.
05:00But no matter what I do, I'm going to get bad press.
05:03I know that.
05:03Now, if I did the opposite, if I went out and continued to bomb them for another four, just bomb
05:09the hell out of them, I'd get bad press on that.
05:12No, there's nothing I can do.
05:14But what this does is it allows the ships to go.
05:17If we keep bombing, those ships won't be going.
05:21And you're talking about $500, $600, $700 million a day.
05:26It's a lot of money.
05:27A lot of money.
05:28That's why the world is okay.
05:30It's liquid.
05:30It's fine.
05:31Also, we run out of reserves in about four weeks.
05:34You know, there are reserves all over the world.
05:36And we would really run out.
05:37And there will be a time when you wouldn't be able to get it.
05:39And you want to see Bedlam?
05:41So for all those so-called geniuses that want to show me how smart they are, ask them why didn't
05:47they blow up General Soleimani.
05:49Ask that of the general and a couple of other people that I like very much.
05:55But, boy, are they wrong.
05:56Go ahead.
05:57How about you?
05:58Thank you, Peter.
05:59I'd give you more, Peter.
06:00But people will say I like you too much.
06:02Thank you, Mr. President.
06:03Bonsoir, Mr. President.
06:03So he told me the first day in office, he asked me like seven questions.
06:08I answered all of them.
06:10Is this true?
06:10He said he just answered more questions in one meeting than Joe Biden did in four years.
06:17Okay?
06:18You know, I'm not going to get you in trouble, but that's what you said.
06:20Go ahead.
