President Donald Trump pushed back against reports that a proposed U.S.-Iran agreement includes a $300 billion fund for Tehran during a media exchange at the G7 Summit. When asked directly about the claim, Trump dismissed it as “false,” insisting the United States would not be investing money in Iran. He added that private parties may choose to invest, but such decisions would be up to them, not the U.S. government. The exchange comes as scrutiny intensifies over the details of the emerging Iran deal, with lawmakers, allies, and critics demanding greater transparency about its economic and security provisions.

00:00Well, it's been reported that it includes a $300 billion collection fund funded by Gulf allies.
00:06It's false.
00:08People, you can invest if you want.
00:10I mean, what am I going to do, say nobody's ever allowed to invest?
00:12No, we're not investing.
00:13We're not putting up 10 cents.
00:15And people can decide to do that, but that's up to them.
00:19I mean, do you want me to say nobody's ever allowed to invest in a country?
00:23I'll say it with Egypt.
00:24Nobody's allowed to invest in Egypt.
00:26Am I supposed to say that?
00:27I think people are going to be very happy.
00:30But there's nothing so smart as the market, and the market loves it beyond anything that I've actually seen.
00:38Again, the stock market has gone through the roof, and oil has come tumbling down.
00:44I guess it's in the low 70s now.
00:46That's right.
00:47That's amazing.
00:48So that's what speaks.
00:49It speaks louder than words.
00:51The alternative would be a worldwide depression.
00:55You know, the stupid people want to have a worldwide depression.
00:57And they're stupid people.
01:01So you can only go so far.
01:04Drive somebody into the ground, and a lot of bad things happen.
01:08Number one, the strait would never open.
01:09Because they don't like floating billion-dollar ships up and down a strait when there are rockets flying over them
01:16and mines all over the place.
01:17So the strait would never be open.
01:19It wouldn't be open for a long time.
01:21So we have a very hot stock market, and we have a very, starting to be a very low oil
01:28price.
01:28And that's going to have a huge impact on affordability caused by the Democrats.
01:33The Democrats have caused so many problems, you have no idea.
01:37But I'll never forget, I took over, and I'm in the office for one day.
01:42And I have my first news conference.
01:44And they said, affordability, sir, affordability.
01:48What are you doing about it?
01:49I said, I've just been here one day.
01:51They tell me about affordability.
01:53They're the ones that caused affordability.
01:55It's just another con job.
01:57They made up the word affordability.
01:58But we're bringing prices down a lot, and they're coming down fast.
02:02And with the settlement, so worthwhile, with the settlement where you're not going to have a nuclear weapon,
02:08and then we bring them down on top of that.
02:11And I think oil prices might get lower than where they were before the war.
02:16So I'm going to see you at 4 o'clock, and we'll discuss that a little bit, and we'll discuss
02:21other things.
02:22But we've had a great meeting.
02:23It's been a great summit.
02:25And France has done a fantastic job.
02:29President Macron has been really, he's really done a great job.
02:33It's been very well received.
02:34Everybody here has been, I don't know if they've been happy.
02:38Some are not doing so well, but some are doing very well.
02:41But they've done a beautiful job.
02:43Thank you very much, everybody.
02:44Thank you, President.
02:45President Macron has been reported that it includes its $300 billion portion fund funded by Gulf allies.
02:55That's false.
02:57People, you can invest if you want.
02:59I mean, what am I going to do, say nobody's ever allowed to invest?
03:02We're not investing.
03:03We're not putting up 10 cents.
03:04And people can decide to do that, but that's up to them.
03:08I mean, do you want me to say nobody's ever allowed to invest in a country?
03:12I'll say it with Egypt.
03:13Nobody's allowed to invest in Egypt.
03:15Am I supposed to say that?
03:16I'm asking whether...
03:18We are not investing in it, and we do not have a fund.
03:21Are you asking Gulf countries?
03:22No, I'm not.
03:23I'm not.
03:23If they do it, fine.
03:24But I would say they won't be doing it for a while until they find out the behavior, it's a
03:30behavior thing.
03:31But we are not investing.
03:32That's a false story that got picked up incorrectly from a statement that was pretty well made, I think.
03:40Maybe a little bit.
03:41It could have been a little more accurate, frankly.
03:44But it's a story.
03:46We are not investing 10 cents.
03:49Don't forget, there's never been anybody that's been so tough on Iran.
03:53This should have been done by Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama.
03:57It should have been done by Biden.
03:58It should have been done by Bush.
04:00It could have been done by a lot of people.
04:02This has been going on for 47 years.
04:06They've ripped you off for 47 years.
04:08And I'm the only one that did anything of it.
04:10They've never shot missiles at anybody.
04:12We wiped out their Navy.
04:14We wiped out their military.
04:16We wiped out their Air Force.
04:18They have no anti-aircraft.
04:20They have no radar.
04:22You know, the reason oil stayed low is because we were taking ships out every night that you didn't even
04:26know about.
04:28Two days ago, three days ago, a month ago, we took out 22 ships.
04:33We averaged from 15 to 25 ships a night.
04:36Nobody knew that.
04:37Our Navy did a great job.
04:38Nobody knew what was happening.
04:41That's why oil didn't go to $300 a barrel.
04:44It went to $125, $115.
04:47Now it's at $72, $73.
04:49I heard it's lower than that now.
04:50I haven't seen it in the last couple of hours.
04:53No, we were very tough.
04:54And we took out a man named Soleimani.
04:56Remember that?
04:57You know?
04:58You think this would have happened if you were alive?
05:00The evil genius?
05:01He was an evil genius.
05:04People forget that.
05:05I took out Soleimani in my first term.
05:07Without that, you don't have, probably, you don't have the situation that we're in today where we dominated.
05:12We dominated.
05:13We wiped out their military.
05:15And because we did that, and then we put up the blockade, which was totally effective.
05:20Not one ship got by, Steve.
05:22Is the tax-stated agreement final, or are you still doing it?
05:26No, it's not final.
05:27It's a memorandum of understanding.
05:29And if I don't like it, we'll go back to shooting at them, dropping bombs on their head.
