Tom Tugendhat: 'The phone signal in Kabul is better than it is in London'
Transcript
00:00I've just come out of the underground. It's the only place in London where the phone connection
00:04is as good as it was when I was working in Kabul more than a decade ago. Now why is
00:09that? Why do
00:10we have 5G coverage here but no 5G signal? Well a lot of it's down to capacity. Frankly there
00:16just aren't enough masks for the number of people and people are trying to do more and more on their
00:21phones. Guess what? It's also down to planning. We need to be much more positive about the
00:27opportunity to have masks in our area because if we want to be connected, if we want people
00:30to get the most out of their lives and the opportunity to connect to each other to not
00:35just to make a profit but also to be in touch with friends and family then we need to make
00:40sure we're
00:40all connected. So if you live in Tunbridge get in touch with me and let me know where the not
00:46spots
00:46are around you. I think I know most of them. Frankly I think I've been through most of them and
00:51if you
00:51live in London or anywhere else please get in touch with your MP. I can tell you on the train
00:56up to Newcastle where I went to talk to some people the other day I couldn't work on the
01:00train. On the train down to Maidstone today I couldn't work on the train. Time and again
01:04there is wasted time. We need to stop this. We need to fill those not spots and make sure we're
01:09connected.
