00:00I believe young people want to work. I reject the narrative that's sometimes out there that young people are snowflakes
00:06and shirkers and they don't want to work. I think young people do want to work. When we published the
00:12interim phase of the Alan Milburn report a couple of weeks ago, he found that 85% of young people
00:18not working really want to work.
00:20So what young people need is a chance. That's what I'm trying to give them through the Youth Guarantee, through
00:26all the different initiatives around hiring incentives, more apprenticeship starts for young people, more work experience for young people. It's
00:34all about saying to young people, we believe in you, we back you and we want to give you a
00:39better future.
