00:00Twelve people, including 11 skydivers and a pilot, were killed when a private plane crashed shortly after takeoff in Butler,
00:08Missouri on Sunday.
00:10Around 11.30 a.m. this morning, we were notified of a plane crash that occurred near the Butler Memorial
00:16Airport in Butler, Missouri.
00:18First responders arrived on scene and located a downed aircraft.
00:21We can confirm at this time that there were twelve occupants on board, one pilot and eleven passengers, and that
00:27all twelve of those occupants have died as a result of that crash.
00:30Dennis Jacobs, the acting airport manager and Bates County Emergency Management Director, said the single-engine turboprop aircraft took off
00:39at around 11.20 a.m.,
00:41but failed to gain altitude before making a sharp left turn and crashing roughly 300 yards from the runway.
00:48The plane took off and then at that point it went down. We're not sure exactly anything beyond that.
00:54So the next steps is we let the NTSB do their investigation with the FAA in coordination with them.
01:00At some point, we'll get the green light to start recovering those families' loved ones and getting them positively identified
01:07and then turned over to the family at their wishes.
01:09The victims' identities have not yet been released as officials work to notify their next of kin.
01:15The aircraft has been identified as a Pacific Aerospace 750XL.
01:22Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are now working with local authorities to determine
01:29the cause of the crash.
01:34the eyewitnesses across all the arableens across the body and since all torn all the mass was stretched out of
01:41the membrane area to be exposed to water.
